Secluded Wooded Setting 5 Minutes From Town

Creekside Cottage is a quiet, private gem nestled in the Appalachian foothills in a wooded country setting, yet only a 5 minute drive to Ohio University. It has a fully equipped kitchen, large deck with porch swing and outdoor furniture, fire pit, and hot tub. Bedrooms (one with a full bed, one with two twins, one with one twin bed) are equipped with quality mattresses and classic bedding. All linens are provided. Tastefully decorated, you'll find an extensive library of classic novels, historical biographies, photo illustrations, etc. AC and furnace will keep you comfortable no matter the season. Hot tub for relaxing at night and watching stars, or for that first cup of coffee in the morning. We think the surrounding beauty and nature's songs will take guests away from a hectic world for a short time. Cable and Wi-Fi are available. Cell phone reception varies; most guests find they can get an adequate signal.
Experience a historical college town and all it has to offer, and return to peaceful solitude, a comfortable bed, sounds of nature, and the simple comfort of a good nights sleep. Travelers will find this a delight!
Pets are welcome with a $25 fee. UNDISCLOSED PETS WILL INCUR A $100 FEE PER PET, PER NIGHT.
This is positively a NO TOBACCO environment beyond the fire pit and parking areas!

Check-in time is 3 PM, checkout is noon. Special event weekends have a higher base rate. Parking is about 80 feet from the cottage, near the road; it is not possible to pull right up to the cottage. The parking area is also separated from the cottage by a wooden privacy fence. You must climb a few stairs to reach the front door, which is accessed from the deck.
Cellular signal is weak at the cottage but functional.

A lovely, rustic, peaceful little cottage. Great location, super close to town. Was a perfect landing pad for a visit to the university. Good for a small family or group of friends. Would visit again.

It is a sweet, slightly rustic, haven in the woods within a 5 minute drive to OU campus. Very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is rustic and a little bit like visiting your Grandma’s house and smells a bit musty. It is tucked into deep woods and is very dark at night, so try to get to the property before sundown or have a flashlight. The cottage is very conveniently located to the Ohio University campus, which was a major plus.

We loved this quiet little cottage in the woods. We enjoyed looking through the old books on the shelves there. A cute & quaint place to stay while exploring Athens and hocking hills.

Quiet place with all you need for the stay. Only thought would be to let guest know to turn on hot tub heater. It was cold when we were going to use it and took to long to heat up. Great stay and perfect for us. Thank you

I booked this for two moms and our daughters visiting Ohio University. I was unable to attend unfortunately, but the other three guests said the home is older but clean and they really enjoyed the hot tub. The host communicated well. The home is in great location when visiting OU.

This is a terrific place with a few things that keep it from being perfect. The most blaring issue is the kitchen. Like most places the amount of equipment is a little uneven, but everything was clean and in good repair, but there wasn't a good flipper for eggs for example. The kitchen table is also not the greatest. Again, it's clean but it's a little rickety. I did mention this to the host directly via email so it may be something that has been addressed.The location is great! The place has attitude and charm for days! The host was very available and communicative if needed.Overall we had a great experience!

The cottage is very cute, sitting in the hot tub watching the stars and listening to the creek was a trip highlight. There was no Verizon signal at all so make sure to have details for check in saved. Our only suggestion is to have extra blankets available for the back room as it was quite chilly in the night and I wasn’t comfortable trying to figure out the space heater.

Like a storybook…behind the fence, past the bamboo, over the bridge, and into the cottage in the woods. This place has character, and we were there for it. Wish we would have had more time to explore, and would love to return. Host was fantastic.
