The house was in a great location with views of the ocean throughout the home, however, we believed for days into our trip, that we could not use lights in the house after sunset at all, cause there is a strict turtle ordinance that states all lights facing the beach must be off after sunset or windows covered, at risk of getting a fine. There are no window coverings on the windows in the house in the living room or kitchen so we didn’t use those rooms after sunset. I messaged the managing company about it and it took a day to get an answer cause they had to check what we could do to use the rooms. Apparently there is a turtle safe protective film on the windows that we were never told about to begin with, so the rooms are usable after sunset. We also were never told about the red lights on the porches that are turtle safe at all, and only figured it out cause we saw turtle safe flashlights being sold at a gift shop that were red, so when we went on the porches at night, we sat in the complete dark the whole time until the last day of the trip. Those two important things not being told to us at all made our time there somewhat disappointing for the price we paid to be there.
