My family and I have stayed here before and it's still a great place to be close to Dauphin Island without being in the middle of the chaos. We will continue to stay here as long as the Zirlott family has this place available. Thank you for a great place to take a pause from the rat race.

Excellent Family Getaway

Great family getaway on Fowl River. Close to Dauphin Island, Beaches, the Alabama Aquarium and Fort Gaines. Great for families!

serene and peaceful

We loved our stay. Our hosts Patricia and Victor are a delight. We look forward to our next stay. Delicious crabs, peaceful, secluded and 15 min from Dauphin Island.

Beautiful location and home

This house and property was great for two families with kids. Lots of room inside and out, and the ping pong table downstairs was a hit. Host was very friendly and thoughtful, checking in with us before and during our stay. We will definitely suggest this house to others.

Wonderful getaway

The home was just what we needed. Plenty of room for the entire family. The kids really enjoyed fishing from the pier. We really enjoyed the time together sitting inside the screened porches. Great place with plenty of room to roam!

What a great house. It’s clean and comfortable. The views are great. The hosts are fantastic. I bought some of the best lump crabmeat I have had in years! The shrimp were great too and I had some shipped to my son in Washington State.

Bayou and Beach!

Wonderful stay in a lovely home with exceptional surroundings! Nature Galore! Loved fishing off the dock at night. Short drive to beautiful beaches. Nice to spend the day at the beach then coming home to our secluded retreat, Fantastic property owners!

AMAZING

We loved everything about our stay! From fishing off the dock, swinging in the swing, relaxing in the home, to sitting on the balcony watching it rain. It was nothing short of perfect! Such a peaceful atmosphere, we will definitely be visiting again!!

Home away from home/quiet retreat

The house was immaculate when we arrived our host Patrician was kind helpful and easy to work with even during our planning phase. She was very knowledgeable about the area and surrounding cities. Definitely worth the drive.

Feels like home...

Beautiful, spacious lake house that feels like home! The home was beautiful. The scenery was amazing. The kids loved looking for crabs on the pier. Beaches just a short drive away. We definitely had a relaxing vacation!

Family trip

The house was neat and clean with plenty of room to spread out. The screened back porch was perfect for watching summer storms roll in. Easy access to the beach and other locations from the property.

Birthday weekend

We were here for a peaceful birthday weekend and this was just the place!! Coffee in the morning on the screened in porch was amazing, and the walk down to the dock, we could have spent the whole day there just watching the wildlife. We went to the Bellengrath gardens for the Chinese lantern fest and it was lovely. Restaurants were crowded so we BBQ ‘d at the house was perfect sitting under the house and still able to visit while cooking. Great place!!

Beautiful and perfect.

Loved staying here. The house was just as pictured and clean. Everything worked, beds were comfortable, and loved the view. Kitchen had everything we needed. Nice and private place and still close to the beach. Even caught some fish from the river.

Perfect off-island spot for Dauphin trip

The house was very clean and provided everything we needed for a weeks stay. The location was perfect - less expensive than staying right on Dauphin Island but about as close as you can get with a Dollar General right down the road for last minute needs. The ping pong table was an added bonus for the kids. Would definitely stay here again! Very private.

Peaceful Escape

We really enjoyed our getaway to this location. Patricia was very helpful and quick to respond when we had questions. It’s an easy 15 minute drive to Dauphin Island...an hour and a half drive to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.
