Important 2026–2027 Ocean Lakes Update

Ocean Lakes is currently making major improvements to Sandy Harbor.

The original indoor pool, original outdoor pool, and Sandy Harbor Mini Golf closed September 8, 2026 for construction. The new facilities are targeted for Memorial Day weekend 2027.

The expansion is planned to include:

New resort-style outdoor pool

Much larger indoor pool
Children`s splash pool
Indoor aquatic play area
Two indoor body slides
Expanded Game Center
New food service
Climate-controlled year-round aquatic facility

During construction, Ocean Lakes is using the Adventure River as a pool alternative when conditions permit. The Water Park continues on its seasonal schedule, while the original indoor and outdoor pools are under construction.

Ocean Lakes is a complete vacation destination. The Sandy Harbor family fun center has the “Splash Zone” water park with slides and lazy river and game center that kids always love. The Nature Center can provide learning during your vacation. There are several playgrounds near the beach, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool for year round enjoyment, a convenience store, Sandy’s Meet and Eat restaurant, the Sandy Harbor cafe, and the “snack shak” to grab a bite.

Ocean Lakes charges $15 per vehicle per day for parking. This must be paid directly to Ocean Lakes and is not included in our cost quote. Reservations made in advance can qualify for express check-in, save a few dollars and beat the lines on check-in day.

Ocean Lakes is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still, a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area.
