It’s hard to find such a great home that allows dogs, so close to the water and everything you need just like home. The hostess was awesome

We spent a week at this charming cottage on the bay. We loved the views and the quiet peacefulness of the cottage. The host and her staff were a phone call away if we needed anything. The host reached out to us to make sure we were satisfied with the cottage and if we needed anything. I highly recommend this little gem! We look forward to staying again.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at Shawn's cottage by the bay. The set up was perfect! We were there for relaxation and crabbing, both we had in abundance. The pier was perfect for hanging out with the family as we crabbed. We caught three bushels!The garage had all we needed to clean and steam our crabs, cleaning station, big pots and an outside cooker to do the steaming.The home felt like a classic Chesapeake bay retreat. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well supplied, the living room overlooks Broadwater Creek, creek side chairs and firepit for enjoying the bay and breeze, and plenty of kayaks.Working with Shawn was a breeze. She was quick to respond if we had any questions or needs and always got things taken care of.We will definitely be back.

We are a party of 3 generations and a dog. Everyone had a great time and had something fun to do at the Chesapeake Paradise cottage. Shawn was always available and ready to assist. The cottage was cozy and clean, had all the amenities and household items we needed. Would love to revisit!

Love, love, love this home! I brought my pup and it was just a perfect mini vacation. Shawn is incredibly kind, communicative, and just a lovely woman all around. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed to cook meals. Beds were super comfy! Cannot recommend this home enough. :)

Great relaxing stay on the Chesapeake

Very relaxing little getaway

We had a great time at this rental! We wanted a quiet family friendly location on the water, and that is exactly what we got and more. The hostess and her dog were so friendly, the rental was clean and had everything we needed, and the recommendations for meals were spot on! We will definitely be back!

Weekend Getaway Cottage

We spent 3 nights over Easter Weekend here and had a great family experience. The host is wonderful and greeted us after we arrived at the Cottage to say hello and answer questions. We would recommend the "Wonder Cottage" to others, especially families that want to spend a quiet weekend on the water.

waterfront property

Peaceful

Beautiful, tranquil setting. Hostess was very accommodating. Access to all of the right elements: kayaks, fire pitfire, plenty of outdoor seating, tiki torches, gas grill and more.

Paradise Cottage on Chesapeake

The property was perfect for the 4 of us and our large Labrador (Timber), exactly as described and even more relaxing and scenic than expected. Our host Shawn couldn’t have been more accommodating and kind. Looking forward to the opportunity to visit again.

Best experience with a host and property in my many VRBO stays over many years and various locations! Shawn and her staff were outstanding in the timeliness, thoroughness, and helpfulness of the information they provided and their replies to me. Shawn greeted me on arrival and made me feel very welcomed. She was available throughout my stay at a moments notice for any questions or requests.The cottage itself was thoughtfully decorated, charming, and very well-appointed with all the necessities and some lovely extra touches (e.g. a decanter of freshly filtered water, condiments and spices, cozy blankets, and a heart-shaped pillow that my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter fell in love with. (Don't worry--we left it there for the next kids). We all loved it so much (despite the rainy weather) that we are hoping to come back at the end of the summer!Kudos to Shawn and staff and to VRBO for helping me find such a lovely spot to share for a family reunion!Appreciatively,Barbara

Relax and have fun

Best sleep ever! Bed and pillows super comfy. Beautiful view. Stores and restaurants within minutes. Shawn is extremely caring.

Delightful

A perfect view, pleasant rooms, enough space for 5 to come together and spread out. Went for a hike nearby, enjoyed the firepit under the stars, and even enjoyed the view while playing games inside during the rain. A wonderful break from our everyday.

Family Vacation

Amazing property and location. Views are amazing. Home has EVERYTHING You need for a great vacation. Very well equipped. Have rented many VRBO and no one has covered the necessities like Shawn. If you want to relax and also be active this is a perfect home. We will certainly return 😊

Commissioning week '24

It's much larger in person than you'd expect, and Shawn did everything she could to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. Even our puppy enjoyed her visit. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to enjoy this secluded little gem. It's about a half hour from the yard so be sure to plan travel time accordingly.

Wonderful Waterside Retreat

Very cozy waterside cottage with lots of fun amenities on site - kayaks, inner tubes, crabbing/fishing supplies and shared dock. Great air conditioning with all the appliances and kitchenware we needed. Even had a large pot for steaming the crabs we caught with the crab traps. Shawn was wonderful and very attentive. My kids fell in love with her cute beagle/border collie mix and tried to talk me into smuggling her home with us.

Wonderful cottage. Inviting, casual, very quiet. Right on the water.

Such a wonderful cozy cottage. Very good heating system, kept us super toasty over the very cold weekend. It was just perfect for my family to unwind, reset, and relax. Shawn was very nice, and was so accommodating. It felt like home away from home, perfectly broken in furniture, casual blankets, plenty of books to read and big windows to watch the water. Will def. try to go back this summer. THANKS!

Easy to settle into and begin relaxing

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at this very comfortable and peaceful vintage home. The central air was especially welcomed on days with high humidity. Shawn was very helpful with restaurant recommendations (even on our drive down from the Baltimore airport), was readily available if we’d had other questions, and had lots of extra necessities available if needed. She was kind enough to let us know we were lucky to be there when thousands of lightening bugs congregated in the trees along the driveway each evening. A magical experience.

Short Stay, But Oh-So-Sweet

Though the weather did not cooperate, as is typical this time of year, we enjoyed a beautiful Cottage stay! Gracious and friendly host Shawn has thoughtfully filled the Cottage with basics galore in the kitchen and bathrooms. She is happy to help with anything else that might be necessary. Indoor sitting area is comfy and we were delightfully entertained by the incredible assortment of birds out our windows, in spite of the weather. (Nest-building Ospreys!) Cottage is so, so clean and beds are dreamy. Shared property with other guests is different, but there is plenty of space to relax on your own. It’s a bonus that groceries, gas and more are just a few minutes away. Nearby waterfront restaurants are delish, especially Pirate’s Cove! With spectacular water and natural beauty outside, plus many endearing Cottage touches inside, our Maryland and Texas families highly recommend Shawn’s place.

Quiet Home away from it all

Had a nice few days here with the wife, ...quiet...all it says it is...good people...good area...the place is open, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths....yards...roads...walk all you want.....pier for fishing.....we had all the rain we needed...(HA and then some)....nice quiet place to get away from it all....bring friends...stay and relax......clean...stocked....drive for groceries is close...food ....close.......4 towns and roads to all directions are close enough......BBQ right up to the road....The Wagon Wheel......eat all the seafood you want...but breakfast and BBQ is waiting when you tire of it right between the first 2 lights >>>>(there are only 2 I was told).....bringing a boat?....ramp at the tackle shop is close ......$ 15 in and out ...10 in OR out.)......ride around and dock it at the property ! .......there are rockfish in the cove........Nice place....we shall return when we need the bay again......Thanks Shawn ((the liquor store had Sugarland Shine's " apple pie" for $7 less than AT the distillery in Gatlinburg, Tenn. ))

We had an outstanding stay at Chesapeake Paradise and are happy to add our glowing accolades to all the justly deserved positive reviews for this property. Although Shawn was out of town at the beginning of our stay, her communication was top-notch. She checked in with us frequently to assure all was well. We knew if we needed assistance in any way it was a text away. The house was immaculate and every comfort and convenience was provided. We woke to a stunning view of the water from our comfy beds, could prepare meals effortlessly in a well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed oodles of room to spread out in the thoughtfully designed cottage. Maps, brochures, a binder of information and the website provided guidance to restaurants, local activities and all we needed to plan our week. The outdoor space was the highlight of our time. As described, we had direct access to the water. We swam, canoed, kayaked and floated. We were lucky enough to share the week with a multi-generational family in the adjacent building on the property. We enjoyed common fire pit time, talks on the pier, and having our dogs play together. There were so many “extra” perks, like the multiple types of swings, lounge chairs, tables, grills, and games. When Shawn returned to the property, we enjoyed wonderful conversations. She was available as much as we desired or needed, yet was not intrusive on our privacy. We would rent here again without hesitation.
