Family retreat at the beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very enjoyable stay in Solana Beach at this rental. The views from the balcony and main bedroom were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the morning watching the waves and the surfers and sunsets in the evening. The condo was very comfortable and the access to the beach was awesome. The area was convenient and there are lots of places to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Check-in was a breeze and staff was very friendly and professional. Rental had lots of beach accessories. Look forward to coming back in the future.

Beautiful view

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is spacious and has a gorgeous view. We had fun watching the surfers from the balcony. However, it has many minor, some annoying, maintenance issues. The owner apparently doesn't think maintenance is important. However, when, for instance, every time you open the microwave door, you have to tug on it, or everytime you lock the front door it's difficult to lock, or everytime you see peeling paint, over time (two weeks) these things lessen the quality of the experience of staying there. I gave a list of issues to the management company. Hopefully, something will be done. Otherwise, I would recommend this property with reluctance.

Great Location, but Upgrades Needed & Challenges with Construction Worker Noise

My family and I have been coming to Solana Beach for over a decade now, but this was the first time we stayed at this complex. While the views were great from the unit and, overall, it was comfortable enough, there are some issues that need to be addressed for other renters. First, the Wi-Fi is inconsistent as we could sometimes stream shows/movies on the TV without issues. However, other times, it would either buffer, or eventually, just quit working. Upon entering the residence, there was a rancid smell in the kitchen area that we, initially, thought was coming from the drain in the sink, but finally determined was related to the garbage waste basket under the sink. So, we had to put the garbage bucket outside with soapy water in it for a day before we could bring it back in the unit to be used. The second bedroom had tape being used as make-shift handles for the armoire instead of proper wooden handles, and there were a couple of broken vertical mini-blinds that, instead of being replaced or fixed, were simply TAPED to the window itself. Worst of all, we were advised by Dave Stubbs Property Mgt, the week before we arrived, that construction workers would be doing work on the roof of our building during NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. Unfortunately, these workers showed-up each day at around 6:45am and started tearing-up the roof replacing plywood and laying down new asphalt shingles. Needless to say, that time of morning is NOT considered normal business hours, so we complained to the rental office 2 days in a row, only to be told that the scheduling had been done by the HOA, and they were powerless to adjust when the workers would start each day. Frankly, for all the way over-priced admin and cleaning fees that VRBO gouges us with these days, which amount to roughly 3 additional night's stay, we expect NO issues with the units (other than normal wear and tear) and NO surprises as to what time any scheduled maintenance begins each day.

Hello Fred, The internet has been updated to dedicated gigabit fiber which is super fast and reliable. It's unusual that there was such a pungent smell at the unit, this is something our housekeeping team would have addressed for you had we known. Unfortunately, as mentioned, we do not have any control over construction the HOA implements. We can only relay information that is passed on to us from them. We do apologize for the early noise. We recommend booking direct and saving on fees for your next vacation.

They are quick to return calls and always go the extra mile to ensure everything is handled smoothly. The unit is very clean and organized, with everything I need for a comfortable stay. The views of the Pacific Ocean and the sound of the breaking waves are outstanding. The unit could use some refreshing, especially the main bedroom rug, and it would benefit from a new coat of paint and newer furnishings. If those updates were made, this unit would be my first choice.

Best Summer Vacation Ever!

I was obsessed with taking sunset photos from the patio. We enjoyed grilling on the bbq while sipping on tasty beverages. Really felt like home. We come to Solana often amd this place made us feel like locals. The beach is amazing. We explored the beach every morning and combed the beach for really cool shells. We saw many dolphins swimming down the coast line from as well. Absolutely magical!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The apartment has a good location and a really stunning view of the ocean. The interior is a bit dated, but has big spaces. Kitchen is well stocked. Bathrooms needs renovation and furniture needs an upgrade. The grill on the deck is very old and rusted. This needs to be replaced. They provide beach towels, but no beach umbrella or beach chairs which is a bummer. Overall good stay. The management company seems great, we just never needed to call them during our stay.

Very dated, needs some work, had to buy own trashbags!

Needs better cleaning. Dishes/glassware cloudy, mix and match everything, needs a paint job, not good front entrance appearance, light bulbs out, left us one trashbag for a week stay, the tiniest dish soap ever and 1 tiny hotel room shampoo, no bath soap, 2 rolls of TP . Owners stuff in closets, impossible to hang more than a few clothes (in bathroom) Asked us to strip beds, do dishes, organize bath towels. Even though we have cleaning fee. Frig and trashout yes- but stripping beds? Asked for a noon or 1 pm check out- only gave us 11:30. Felt who answered the property manager phone was a little rude. When gate code changed they did not tell us for 2 days. (Neighbors are super nice and helpful!) Can't beat the location, but overall condition was poor. Construction workers above all day renovating condo above. Nice guys, kept taking up both parking bays (we only needed one)

Solana Beach Stay

This location is excellent! Unit itself was clean except for closet with beach accessories , which were sandy. Needs some TLC- screens replaced and/or added, no to holder in master bath. The unit is very spacious and we loved having games there to play and many books to choose from.

Construction central

The views were as advertised after the scaffolding was removed on the third day; however, we were unable to utilize the balcony in peace as they were working on the scaffolding on the side. The description of the remodeling in the unit above was completely inaccurate. Access to the beach was great and once the construction is complete it will be a dream place to stay.
