The Space:

Calypso Cottage is a beautiful three-story home nestled in the gated community of Sunrise Beach in Santa Rosa Beach. This 2,360-square-foot home is within walking distance of Gulf Place, a town center with plenty of shopping and dining venues. Enjoy time with your family in your private swimming pool or walk down to the beach! The living area and the primary bedroom both offer private balconies where you can sit back and enjoy gentle Gulf breezes from the nearby emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The upgraded third-floor kitchen is well-equipped, so you can prep and serve meals at home.



The combined living and dining area offer Gulf views and create an ideal place for family gatherings with its large TV and dining table. All bedrooms are equipped with TVs. There is also a full-size washer/ dryer for your convenience. Right outside the den, you relax in your private pool, with plenty of outdoor seating and a grill for those who like to cook and dine alfresco.



Being in the community of Sunrise Beach means this home is a short bike ride away from all that the west end of 30A has to offer. A ride east will take you to Grayton State Park or the areas of Watercolor and Seaside, where The Truman Show was filmed. Grayton Beach State Park, which features the Underwater Museum of Art, is nine miles away. Deer Lake State Park is sixteen miles from the home, where you can observe nature and wildlife.



No matter what brings you to Calypso Cottage, this home, the scenery, the community, and an array of local attractions will make you realize you’ve been in paradise and keep you returning.



Things to Know

Neighborhood beach access is available down the boardwalk.

Home includes beach service of 4 chairs and 6 umbrellas. 8 other personal chairs are allowed to sit with the LDV setup at no expense. That will allow 12 people to sit there at no expense to any guests. They should all be positioned straight down from the neighborhood boardwalk with 'Calypso cottage' on the back of the chairs.

Perfect family beach getaway

This home was perfect for our family, from the layout of the home to the proximity to the beach. The pool was a great bonus also.

Perfect location

The house was perfect for what we were looking for. Short walk to beach, food, and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere to sit out on the balcony at anytime and just relax.

Love this area

We have stayed at several houses in Sunrise Beach subdivision. We love this location and never disappointed. Close to the beach, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and more. Would definitely stay at Calypso Cottage again!

Family Beach Vacation

Very clean and pretty home. Enjoyed the pool and close access to the beach. Nice gated community and close to restaurants and stores. Liked the bikes and umbrella and chair service at beach.

Even our Teens were happy!

Location is perfect! We have two teenagers and everyone was happy and had plenty of room. The included daily beach setup was our favorite! The pool and backyard area is the biggest and the neighborhood. Only drawbacks are the master bathroom on second floor needs to be updated and the kitchen is on the third floor which results in forced exercise. Lots of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

Great neighborhood and wonderful house

We have stayed in this neighborhood three years now and will be back. This house was just as described and so convenient to walk to the beach and restaurants. The property managers were the most attentive to any questions and responded quickly. We had a great trip!

Vacation 2021

We enjoyed the house and amenities. Beach was beautiful and just a short walk away and our grandkids loved the pool. We did not enjoy the 3rd floor kitchen as my wife and I both suffer from knee issues. Overall a great place to stay

Great location

The location of this property is great. Having a pool and being steps away from a private beach was so nice - plus the two complimentary beach chairs/umbrella set up daily was delightful. Plenty of other beach, pool items at the house for guest use. Walking distance to necessities such as coffee, ice cream and seafood is fun for all ages. The kitchen is supplied with the basics needed to cook meals. Would definitely come back to this property!

Close to EVERYTHING!

This was the perfect house for our family vaca! The walk to the private beach was NOTHING and I loved that we had 2 chairs and an umbrella already set up. The house also had extra chairs, boogie boards, etc for beach fun. We also loved the 5 minute walk to Gulf place for coffee, pizza, ice cream, Perfect Pig and Shunk Gulley. We loved the private neighborhood and felt safe walking everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well, there were even some box fans in the closet. This house set the bar high for any beach houses we look at in the future!

Santa Rosa Beach

Except for Vacasa not being responsive to us prior to visit, all went great. The online process needs some attention as you cannot speak with anyone when you have questions or specific needs. This year we were so happy to find a house so near the beach in a gated community. Very happy!

Location is was perfect

The house overall was nice. The location was just a very very short walk to the beach. *note the pictures show it has more of an ocean view than it actually does - there were trees blocking the view from the balconies* The house was a bit more run down than it portrays but it is still a very suitable house for a beach vacation. There were a couple towels stained and we had a situation with the fitted sheet not fitting on one of the beds. Also, there is no point in asking for early check in becasue they were not accommodating at all with that

Very Nice Stay

It is a wonderful location and we had a great vacation. I would like to point out that it is not clearly communicated that the kitchen and living area are on the 3rd floor. We weren't crazy about that. I am also concerned that some of the houses in the community are now making the beach in front of their houses exclusive to them which dramatically cuts down on the private beach that is advertised. The bedrooms, bathrooms, decks, and living area were all nice and large. The 8 bikes that came with the house were great. Also, the house has a gas grill which I don't believe was mentioned, but we were very happy to have. Overall, very good trip.

Pool Problems

The pool pump was not functioning and the pool was already dirty from the previous guests. We could not use the pool. Also, the skimmer net to get things off the surface of the water was ripped and not usable. There were several nails sticking up on the deck by the pool. I stepped on one and injured my foot. There was no laundry detergent by the washer so we were unable to wash the towels.

Great location, but needs a face lift.

This booking was awesome for the location alone—we loved the private beach and complimentary umbrella and two chairs (there’s also plenty of beach gear at the house if you have a large group). It’s also close to great restaurants and shopping, but was still quiet at night. That being said, I do have a few quibbles. Mostly, the house needs a little TLC. The floors need to be restored, the kitchen accessories are all worn out, and the decor is very bland (I get wanting a neutral palate but this is too muted). Also, this is random but a big deal: the coffee maker did not come with coffee filters or a reusable basket, so we had to run out to Publix, which is always crowded, to get some. I’ve never stayed at a house that didn’t have all of the equipment needed to make coffee. I can get on board with bringing your own food and supplies, but that seems extreme to me. Just buy a reusable basket. We left our filters there for the next guests. Lastly, it was not clearly communicated to me that the pool did not come heated. Some clear info on how to make that happen would have been great. Call ahead if you want that option, which I recommend—the pool was only warm enough to use on one of the days we were there. Regardless, I loved the neighborhood and will keep the area in mind for future vacations.
