Tucked away at the end of a private driveway in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands, Stonebrook Mountain Chalet is your peaceful mountain hideaway just minutes from Ohiopyle. Perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop 60 feet above the sparkling Beaver Creek trout stream, this one-of-a-kind 2-bedroom, 2-bath chalet gives you sweeping views, the constant gentle rush of water, and total seclusion among ancient hemlocks, blooming rhododendron, mountain laurel, and massive natural boulders. Step onto the front deck and you’ll instantly relax to the soothing soundtrack of the stream below. Inside, the open-concept main level welcomes you with a bright, well-equipped kitchen and dining area warmed by a gas fireplace. The stunning great room features soaring vaulted ceilings, an entire wall of windows that brings the forest and stream right inside, a full-size pool table for some friendly fun, and a massive stone fireplace with propane logs ready for cozy evenings. Just down the hall you’ll find the main-level primary suite with a luxurious king bed and full bath. A graceful spiral staircase leads upstairs to a second private primary suite with a queen bed and its own full bath—perfect for couples who each want their own space while still sharing the magic. Please Note – Important Safety & Access Info. Stonebrook Mountain Chalet is designed as a peaceful couples retreat. Because the home sits on a rocky ledge with a 60-foot drop to the stream below, we do not allow children under age 6. Guests with children age 6 and older must provide constant adult supervision at all times. 24/7 security cameras monitor the driveway, entrance, and exterior for everyone’s safety and privacy—please do not tamper with them. I’ve lived in these mountains for 65 of my 72 years. I always dreamed of owning a house right on a stream, and in 2017 that dream finally came true when I bought Stonebrook Mountain Chalet. It’s only eight miles from my farm, so it became the perfect secluded getaway — a peaceful spot where I could relax and enjoy the sound of the water and the beauty of the woods.
Two years ago I decided to open it up as a short-term vacation rental so others could experience everything Stonebrook has to offer: the breathtaking views of Beaver Creek from the front deck, the incredible privacy, and the cozy comforts of the chalet. It’s also just minutes from Fallingwater, Ohiopyle State Park, and all the hiking, biking, and whitewater adventures the Laurel Highlands are famous for.
It’s been wonderful sharing this special place with guests and reading their entries in the guest book. One of my favorites still makes me smile: “Stonebrook gives a whole new meaning to STREAMING!”
