Great experience! Loved the cabin! Easy to find with host’s detailed directions. WiFi excellent! Beds were very comfortable and decor perfect. Kitchen well stocked with pots pans needed for cooking. Highly recommend for those looking for a Maine cabin experience.

It’s a lovely home and well appointed. It’s a bit of a walk to the water’s edge, but worth it. Bottom floor has a lot of clutter, but we really didn’t need the extra space. Would definitely go back another time. It was a great spot for a family reunion.

The lake is beautiful. Not easily accessible for children under 5. My grandkids had a blast jumping off the dock, boating, and swimming. Home is not lake front. There are very tall trees and two houses in the way - you cannot see the lake from the house. It is a steep hike to and from the lake which we did not mind. There is a loop you can drive down if you are unable to do the hike. The swimming is excellent and the sunsets were beautiful. The house needs to be professionally cleaned and needs many repairs which I did share with the host. The rental fee is excessive for what was provided.

Great Cabin

Really liked being out in the Maine woods. The cabin had everything I wanted, especially the kitchen which was fully equipped for any kind of cooking you might have in mind. The host graciously helped us find towels which made the stay much more comfortable. We had a great time.

Amazing lakeside retreat

The only complaint is that the week flew by too quickly! We enjoyed being tucked in the woods by beautiful Great Pond! Accommodations perfect for our family group! Enjoyed walks and lake time as well as trips into Belgrade Lakes Village and other nearby areas such as Augusta and Waterville. Sure hope to come back! Great host!

Great place. Bottom floor is extremely musty. Almost inhabitable. We aired it out and by the second day it was manageable. Water was pouring in the window under the deck, the morning we left from all the rain (hence the musty- ness).

Quiet getaway

Needed a place to stay for our son’s college homecoming weekend and this location was only 20 minutes away. Very clean, very quiet, in a remote area. Lake is within walking distance about 300 feet but not visible from house. This is a great cabin in the woods. Host is accommodating and responds quickly.

Disappointed

The walk to the water was to steep for me to get to. The upstairs area was to hot. The downstairs (basement) was freezing. The doors to the house were open with no house key to use. Would not recommend. Disappointed Not worth the price.

Unfortunately a very poor communicator with unrealistic requirements. The place does come with air conditioning...tried to accommodate...

The property was unsafe. The stairs have settled and are pitched and steep. There is a hole in the decking infrint of main door ... a tripping hazard. The kitchen propane stove was not fully functional. Only 2 out of 5 burners lit. There was a propane smell afterwards. I called the owner about the propane odor ... he never called back. The inside had not been properly cleaned in a long while. Basement was musty and moldy. It was unusable.

This property is not properly represented in its pictures. The property and the dwelling are run down and in need of serious updating and maintenance. The exterior is weathered and has moss growing on it, the screens and screen doors are in need or repair and/or replacement. The basement is water damged and moldy. The cabin was very dusty, had several spider webs hanging from light fixtures as well as painting and other supplies stored in common areas. The boat dock is wobbly and generally unsafe. The grill at the dock was unusable and disgusting. The underside of the deck leading to the cabin had a hige wasp nest which led to almost a dozen stings to 1 adult and 2 children.

Guest left smoked weed joints in the home and was rude in communication. Also demanded unsubstantiated discounts for things never brought to our attention, as was done in their review. The bee nests were real, however, and we had those eliminated immediately. .

Work Weekend

Reflections-We knew to bring sheets; we did not know to bring towels! That was a bit problematic as we were a group who had to work all day and had nothing for showers. It's all in the "view property details"on vrbo but difficult to navigate and finally in the last sentence of five or six paragraphs. Also a bit disappointing that there isn't really a view of the lake from the house. That info should be more visible when booking. There should be more info IN the house and and SIGNS OUTSIDE the property-- like where that beautiful lake access is! Otherwise the house is lovely. It makes more sense for weekly rentals, we were earlier than prime season and only needed two nights.

We were very disappointed in how the cabin was listed on the VRBO site compared to its actual appearance. It is listed as a 'Newer Modern Home' and the pictures look very new. The actual cabin is at least 20-30 years old. The cabin needs lots of attention: - the front steps are horrible. Each step is too high and they are slanting forward. Someone is going to fall down these steps and you will be liable - the screens on the porch need to be replaced as well as the cushions on the chairs - the bedrooms need closets - more than pegs on the wall - the basement room might have been nice but the musty, mildew smell was so horrible no one could stay down there. The bedroom needs a doorThe biggest issue is that this cabin is listed as a LakeHouse on the lake. You can't even see the lake from the house and you have to walk to the dock a good 300 ft from the house. The dock is nice but there is no area to easily walk into the lake so we couldn't even hang out there.The price we paid was extreme for what we got. There are better places to stay on this lake for the same price.

The exterior has been repainted within the last year so looks much more appealing than in this photo. Distance to lake is 300ft, and there are peeks of the lake from the home.

Summer Vacation letdown

Overall very poor experience and stay! Cleanliness of cottage poor. Garbage left in cottage toilets and showers dirty. False inferred advertising of water front property. Cottage back in woods multiple cottages on lake in front of the property with dogs barking. Internet access did not work. Barbecue very dirty and no propane. Property did have access to the lake but dock was unsafe and collapsed when I stepped on it. Whole property needs maintenance and serious TLC. Also we travelled international flight and arrived late with no lights on and found out there was no linen/ bed sheets or towels etc. I definitely do not recommend this property as is. Although it has potential if owners put some upkeep and TLC.

This was unfortunate as we ended up having to hire a new cleaner as a result. Hopefully this will not happen again. It is most likely the guest tied his boat to the dock in the wind, as is cautioned against doing in our guide book, causing the dock to be unsafe, requiring additional repair afterwards.

Nice Place to Stay Overall

This house is in a great location with plenty of space for everyone. The waterfront area is awesome and offers a great swimming location and dock/buoy for your boat. As advertised, it is a downhill walk from the house to the waterfront, but you can easily drive down there as well. As far as advice for future visitors, unless you pay extra for the linens and towels to be provided, make sure you remember to bring everything! We remembered our bath towels and beach towels, but didn't think about kitchen towels or hand towels for the bathrooms. Therefore, we went out and bought some while we were there. Also, the downstairs bathroom has absolutely no hooks to hang any towels, not even a hand towel. For some reason, there was no cold water in the downstairs bathroom sink. Not a big deal, but just unexpected. Downstairs was a little musty smelling, but also to be expected for a basement area. Lastly, the stairs up to the deck were steep and a little off pitch. Once again, not a big deal, but a little difficult for older guests. Maybe the writeup that states "new camp" should be updated. The exterior of the home doesn't look like the picture provided in the advertisement. I would guess that picture is from when the house was newly built. Overall, this was a nice place to stay and the owner even let us check in a little early. We had a fun week!

We have been using vrbo for 7 years. This is a family tradition that we plan all year. By far this rentals clealiness was just as the reviews said. Dirty and a disappointment. Cob webs, dust and grimey film on surfaces. I don't usually put stock in reviews but in this case i wish I would have been more diligent with my selection. The porch was especially dirty, not swept or rid of webs, also behind one of the chairs was a dead bird. Which was not spotted until the chair was moved just prior to leaving. The kichen was dirty too, we went to use the kuerig and there were ants in their. The sponge was dirty and there was no replacement. No hand soap and paper towels for a family of four were scarce for a week. Less then 3/4 of roll. Also toilet paper was needed as well we had to go to Walmart to purchase toilet paper as their was 3/4 roll down stairs and a 1/2 roll up stairs. As others stated the down stairs is unhabitible it is damp and the smell is pungent to the point of stinging your nose. Please don't respond by saying I didn't communicate. When I paid house keeping fee I would expect to arrive to a clean sponge toilet paper and a clean space. In my opinion these are common sense expectation and needs. I wish you well and thank you for sharing your home with us. But if you going to this for living step up your game.
