Best Of The Black Hills Lake Side Property—Fun, Relaxation, And Excitement

Looking to find the best that the Black Hills has to offer? This mountain cabin overlooking a huge lake is the ideal home base to discover it all. The fun begins only a few steps away from the back door with a lake where you can fish for trout (catch and release is greatly appreciated), swim and/or use the paddle boat.

Every day will bring new experiences as you choose to visit many of the Black Hills' major attractions that are only a few minutes' drive away. Lifelong memories will be created as you enjoy the grandeur of Mount Rushmore or take in the magnificence of Crazy Horse Memorial or ride the 1880s steam train. Exciting adventures abound with water skiing and jet skiing on surrounding lakes (Pactola Reservoir and/or Sheridan Lake), biking and hiking on Mickelson Trail, or ATV riding on some of the most beautiful trails anywhere. The history of the old west will come alive as you visit historic Deadwood which is about an hour's drive.

When the day's adventure is over you'll relax in the tranquil and secluded surroundings of our cabin. As the sun goes down you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and wildlife as you watch the moon rise over the mountain and the stars begin to sparkle on crystal clear nights.

Family getaway

Was the perfect cozy spot. Close enough to town but far enough to be close to nature. Felt like a family cabin. Wanda and Paul were so friendly and welcoming. Would absolutely come back again.

Beautiful!!

My family and I had a fabulous stay! Wanda and Paul were very welcoming and the house was clean and cozy. Our favorite feature was the absolutely stunning lake and view. There was so much space for my kids to play and explore. They especially loved the lake and seeing so much wildlife! We can't wait to go back.

Great place to stay!!

Paul and Wanda are excellent hosts! My parents and I had a great time and would definitely stay in this location again! It was so nice to have a quiet, cozy, home to come back to after touring the tourist attractions. The home has everything you might need when traveling and then some. The hosts are very thoughtful! I will be telling my students back in Kansas all about my trip when school starts back up. This was a relaxing way to end summer!

Great family get away

This was a great family get away. Wonderful views, fishing and paddle boating for the kids and large outdoor space to hangout. The cabin had lots of little extras like games for kids to play and worms for the kids to fish with.

Fantastic get away

This property is lovely. It’s off the beaten path and away from town. For us that are used to country living, it was perfect. The kids loved the pond. All the games that are provided were an excellent way to spend time as a family. Thank you for a wonderful week!

A little slice of serenity

This property was just what my family needed. It’s tucked away in a private area and we were able to fish each evening. The space was clean and had everything we needed plus some extras like games and the fixings for smores. We were very happy!

Family fun

We had a wonderful stay. The condo is amazing the property very relaxing. Our 2 grandsons had a blast fishing and even took a cold dip in the lake. Everything in the Blackhills is close for sightseeing. We would recommend this property.

First South Dakota trip!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay while in the black hills. Hosts were amazing. Fun for the whole family. Would definitely stay again when we are back in the area. 10 out of 10

Great Vacation Get Away!

Loved the place! Was central to everything in the Black Hills. Owners go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. Would recommend to anyone. Fishing in lake was also spectacular.

A perfect stay

Our stay here was sooooo wonderful! It truly felt like a home away from home. Very clean, kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc. Wanda and Paul were just lovely and very gracious hosts. The setting was very tranquil and beautiful. We hated to leave and can't wait to return!

Great Place to Stay!

Very well maintained and clean property. All the comforts of home, with nice, thoughtful touches throughout. Wonderful view of the lake. Paddle boating was a favorite. Wanda and Paul were so friendly and made us all feel welcome.

wonderful home away from home!

The owners were wonderful to deal with. From booking, to our departure - Wanda and Paul were amazing! This was a great location so we could enjoy all of the SD attractions. The home was stocked with everything we needed and was in wonderful condition. I highly recommend this rental!

Perfect! Great Location & Hosts

Our family of 5 loved the time we spent in the Black Hills and Wanda and Paul's Condo was a pefect fit for us. It was a great place to call home while we were there. The location was perfect-close enough to the area attractions/parks we wanted to visit yet away from the hustle and activity surrounding those areas. We enjoyed being able to end our busy days at the peaceful, relaxing condo with a beautiful view. Wanda and Paul were welcoming hosts and I would definitely recommend staying at their property.

The place was amazing and host couple did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The only thing that site could communicate more clearly is that 2nd bedroom is not really a room but space at top of stairs. Otherwise, the condo was clean and the setting was absolutely beautiful. I will return if I ever plan another trip to Black Hills area.

Trail riding in the Black Hills

The beautiful sunrises and view from our back deck were amazing! We had a fun time riding the trails and doing a little sight seeing. Our hosts were very kind the house was cozy and clean. We would definitely come back.

Gods Country

Our hosts were wonderful people. We were located close to Rapid City, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. The setting was very tranquil, hills were beautiful. After a long day of seeing the sights , it was nice to get back and unwind. Definitely a hidden gem with this property. Hopefully its available when we return in the future

Amazing place!

What a little piece of heaven! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to enjoy our family vacation. Located about 20-40 min from all the tourist attractions so close enough that you do not spend the entire day driving but far enough from the craziness that a tourist town has. Paul and Wanda have thought of everything that you would need while on vacation. Don’t miss the sunrises, they are beautiful! I would highly recommend this place.

BEAUTIFUL BLACK HILLS CONDO

This condo is very clean and comfortable. It had all of the ammenities of home. The view is so beautiful, we enjoyed sitting out on the patio. The boys enjoyed fishing in the lake. Paul and Wanda are wonderful hosts, they gave many suggestions on restaurants and activities. (Alipine Inn was delicious!) We would definitely recommend this condo.

Excellent property with fabulous hosts

We had a wonderful experience with this rental! It is about 15 minutes from the downtown of Hill City and very remote, but we enjoyed the privacy and serenity! Our kids loved the pond - fishing and paddle boating. We loved the back patio and view. Wanda and Paul were awesome hosts (they live in the condo right next store to this rental). We were welcomed to the very homey rental with a welcome message for our family on the chalk board. Also Paul brought over a bottle of wine and sparkling wine for our kids. All of the little touches were so nice, such as candy filled in the dish, all soaps/shampoos, laundry/dishwasher soap, garbage bags, etc. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a private, beautiful setting!
