Cozy Cabin in the Hills

Sunset Trails Cabin was updated for the 2022 season and under new management. The cabin has 3 bedrooms with queen beds on a split level (the loft is no longer in use). One bedroom leads to a large deck with a beautiful view. It has two 3/4 bathrooms, full kitchen, gas fireplace, deck with gas grill, and a washer and dryer. Sunset Trails is located 5 minutes from Hill City on roughly 1.5 miles of gravel road (guests on motorcycles please take note of the gravel road). Its walking distance from the Mickelson Trail and about 20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. For those of you that like to stay connected you do have cell service here and we just added Wi-Fi!! Cell service is spotty in some areas so please pull up the map and directions before heading to the house. This home is in a neighborhood so those of you that bring ATV/UTVs please be considerate of the road and the neighbors.

The house had everything we needed to make our stay fantastic. It was peaceful yet convenient to everything we wanted to do in the area. It was very clean and well stocked. The communication was excellent and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back!

No lake view tho but it was a very beautiful cabin well taken care of. the hosts Mike and dulce were kind to leave fresh eggs and meat which was delicious by the way .the view was ok we loved the peace and quiet and would definitely go back

The cabin was exactly as described and was perfect for our stay. Great location! It was so clean and was stocked with everything we needed! There was even a welcome balloon, candy, and fresh meat and eggs waiting for us! Communication was excellent with the owners and I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We had a wonderful time and we hope we can come again sometime!

Everything was exactly as advertised. Hosts were extremely helpful and definitely went above and beyond when we had some vehicle issues. Location is great for any kind of trails you’re looking for, can hop right on the trails from the cabin and go any direction. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return if we come back to the area!

Wonderful stay in the woods

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean, quiet and private while still being close to most of the great attractions in the area.

We marked this as a favorite stat and hope to return soon! Don’t let the “cozy” fool you—this is a spacious getaway with three bedrooms, two beautiful tiled bathrooms, a large tv and a couch that seats 6 and has 4 recliners. We also loved sitting outside on the deck and watching deer in the morning and evening. Close to Hill City if you need to run into town, but far enough out to be quiet and cozy. Honestly, it was so relaxing that we ended up staying at our home base during this family trip than we might have otherwise. Full kitchen with everything you need. I was impressed that one cupboard had only plastic cups and small bowls if you have toddlers along. Super clean! Washer and dryer onsite, too. Mike and Dulce were excellent hosts, communicated well & have the gift of hospitality!

Great place for a simple, family stay!

The property was lovely with nice space for eating, playing a few board games and relaxing with the rustic view. It provided a comfortable, welcoming base for a great family visit.

Nice cabin, great location for ATV riding

The cabin was perfect for our stay while we rode side by sides and atvs throughout the Black Hills.

Peaceful getaway!

Loved the location, far enough out of Hill City for some privacy but close drive back to town and also the trails! House was perfect for us and the hosts were very responsive! Will definitely stay again.
