I am so sorry that you must not have pulled the sofa out, because we replaced the sofa after the review about it blocking the bathroom and the walkway, and they are fully open now, with plenty of space to get through. I am sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with your stay at our 4.5 star coastal cottage with super host status. This is the first time I am hearing about any issues you had while at the property. I would have been more than happy to respond to your concerns, had they been brought to my attention. I ensure my properties have been thoroughly cleaned after each stay and can assure you the dishes, cups and silverware were clean. The stove was new last year, we will check the burners. The bathroom ceiling has a crackle paint technique and is not falling down. The vent is located at the bottom of the step in a high traffic area. The home is up to code and inspected by the city. It seems as though you may be happier with a hotel or a newer house, not a beach cottage. Unfortunately it is like someone eating their entire meal at a restaurant and then complaining after the fact to get it for free. We have consistently great reviews on all of our properties for over ten years. We have given our homes the same attention and care for every guest that stays and will continue to do so. I take great pride in cleanliness and quality as you can see in my previous reviews :)

Sadly, we are not surprised by the guest’s negative comments, since the only time we receive negative remarks (as evidenced by years of countless positive ratings) is when renters damage our home. Most guests are respectful and treat our house like it’s their own –but not this group. After years of being a premier partner on VRBO, we believe that it’s a scare tactic to discourage us from seeking reimbursement for the damage, or giving them a negative rating to warn other property owners. Many repeat families have enjoyed this charming house year-after-year, eager to book it well in advance to secure their dates. To address their inflammatory allegations: · We have used professional cleaners for years, and always inspect the property prior to check in · The toilet has never had a leak or been loose, before these guests · The so called falling apart floors might refer to a spot where someone in their group managed to break and remove a chunk of flooring · According to residential building code we cannot have doors on the upper bedroom, so a curtain that reaches the carpet is provided · My husband personally checked the propane on the new Weber grill, it had a third of a tank and an extra tank available (just ask) · We provide the fire pit and chairs, and never said that we provide firewood · There is no poison ivy and never has been in 10 years, my husband is extremely allergic to it · The lot and a half is one of the largest in the neighborhood, and the small aluminum fishing boat is parked in the back corner · We take pride in making a guest comfortable and if ever a need arises a simple phone call from the guest is much appreciated. Certaintly things happen from time to time and we are always very prompt at taking care of things, unfortunately this guest didn't contact us with anything.
