Best of Two Worlds - The Strip and The Beach

Completely renovated (May 2014) 4B/2B private beach cottage. Fully furnished with CENTRAL HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING. Centrally located just steps away from the action and fun on 'the strip' to steps from the private beach for sunbathing and swimming. All this in a peaceful, quiet, private neighborhood!
Fully stocked kitchen (dishes, glasses, pots & pans, silverware, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, towels & dishcloths). 4 private bedrooms for 8 people, complete with bed linens & pillows - #1- Full Size, #2 - Queen Size, #3 - 2 Twin Beds, #4 - 1 Twin w/Trundle Bed. (LIMITED OCCUPANCY TO 8 GUESTS)
Two Bathrooms; Upstairs has a tub. Downstairs has a shower. Both bathrooms are stocked with towels, hand and face cloths and tissue paper, bath & hand soaps. Gas Grill and picnic table in the backyard.
Bring your own beach towels. A washer & dryer are available.

This property at Mapleton Beach is everything we want at GOTL. On the strip, walking distance to many eateries, close to the lake, a private well maintained beautiful beach, on-site parking and a spacious house with air conditioning. We’ve stayed here a few times and it’s always clean and inviting. The host is very friendly and responsive to all questions.

The cottage was nicely furnished and everything we might have needed was there. The only thing that might have been better was the location. We were hopeful to be in a location where we could see the lake without walking so far. But we should have clarified that upon booking. Hostess could not have been more accommodating.

Great location, mid strip and the lake. Best of both worlds. We used the porch alot. Overall good house but a little overpriced for what you get based on our stays in numerous rentals over many years at GOTL. Also didn’t notice, since have never been seen before, but this house requires all your rent when you book rather than in a couple payments. I booked in December for an August stay. I didn’t notice til I had hit reserve so I guess that’s on me. Was a mouse infestation. Didn’t realize that’s what it was til last night when walked in to see them running over counters. We thought it was our everything bagels dropping seeds til then hahaha. Closer inspection also noted mice were having a lot of fun in the laundry room. (Given the amount seems like mgmt should have noticed all the droppings and handled the situation). Notified management when we checked out (as had only figured it out the night before)Their response was that they would let the cleaning company know!! Uhmm??? Overall good old typical lake cottage w great location but would not book again due to overpriced and pymt policy (their response to our report of mouse infestation was a little concerning too). We had no other problems tho which reqd mgt attention.

Excellent Rental

House was very clean and our host had excellent communication so arriving and checking out was super easy. Perfect location for visiting the strip. Definitely will book again!

Our mother grew up here in GOTL living with her grandmother in the 1920's. After marrying our father and moving to California and then Florida for many years, our parents decided to return to the lake and purchased this cottage in '84 as a summer retreat. With their passing, we wanted to keep the GOTL heritage alive and took charge of the cottage in 2011. We updated the cottage almost from the ground up with new windows, electric, insulation, wood, tile & carpeted flooring. Central Air Conditioning and heat duct work was added to every room but the sun room. In 2014, we completed furnishing, decorating and stocking Happy Trails Cottage to create a comfortable, fun, easy living space where guests can go to the private beach and relax and swim or jump into the action along Ohio's first Lake Resort town. We look forward to having you visit and enjoy your stay in Happy Trails Cottage!
