When you walk through the door it feels as though you just stepped into a issue of Costal Living Magazine!

Enjoy the outdoor living by the fire pit, BBQ and outdoor heat lamp - Step inside to a true beach cottage inspired by all things nautical. This beautiful beach cottage has everything you need. Luxury linens and towels, two televisions, board games, a library of books and magazines and a wood burning fireplace. Enjoy the fully stocked kitchen or take a 5 minute drive to one the many restaurants in the area.

A magical home away from home!

Everything about the Boxwood House is perfect - the breathtaking curb appeal & gorgeous lamdscaping, the beachwalk-adjacent location, the thoughtfully stocked kitchen/pantry and amenities, the beyond-charming and comfortable decor, and the heartfelt care that is so clearly invested in every detail, making this truly a magical home away from home.

Beautiful, comfortable home

We had a great stay. Home is beautiful inside and out. The online photos don't do it justice. Lovely front and back yard. Comfortable relaxation areas. Home amazingly well stocked with everything you'll need. Good location with close, easy access to coast, restaurants and markets.

Best little house in El Granada

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful time here. The house is in a perfect location to explore the area and has everything you need to enjoy the beach nearby. We especially enjoyed going on bike rides along the coastal trail and to get to local restaurants, and the easy walking access to a nearby forest trail. My son did surf camp during our stay here and it turned out that the meet up for camp was just dowh the road from us. Perfect week!

Nice House

Nice spacious house in a good quiet location within easy walking distance of beach. Well equipped with a lot of attention to detail - eg rugs provided so you can sit outside in the evening. Owner and manager were responsive to queries/issues. Driveway is not flat - our car (Nissan Altima) kept grounding on the drive but you can park on the street. SUV should be OK

Beautifully well presented house

Have just spent a week in Teresa's beautiful home. Wow, what a place. The attention to detail and furnishings were fantastic - my daughter said it was the most comfortable bed she has ever slept in !! Opportunities to have cosy log fires inside and out, and everything you want in a kitchen. The use of their bikes for the (flat) coastal path was also a great touch. You are personally greeted upon check in by a lovely lady called Lorri who took us around the property and was an appreciated touch. Couldn't recommend this place more.

Delightful coastal get away

Our family enjoyed our stay immensely!!! The house was immaculately clean and picture perfect!!! Lori was was warm and friendly!!! Our stay was delightful from beginning to end!!

Another outstanding stay

My family and I have stayed at this property several times and have been pleased every time. The house is very comfortable and the owners have thought of everything to make guest feel at home from binoculars for bird watching to supplies for s’mores. We look forward to staying again soon!

Wonderful home, wonderful location, wonderful welcome

House was spotless and fresh. We were greeted on arrival and made to feel welcome and at home. The location is quiet, but an easy walk to the beach or good restaurants.

Fantastic Home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back again. The home is beautiful and the owners have gone out of their way to make it feel like "home". The home is stocked with everything you could need...and then some. The check-in and check-out process is very personalized which adds such a nice touch.

Relaxing Stay By The Sea

Great stay at this coastal home. The accommodations were excellent and the property has everything you need for a relaxing coastal getaway. Having coffee every morning sitting at the patio table in the secluded backyard taking in fresh coastal air - hearing the sounds of the Princeton foghorn and the waves crashing onto the shore - is priceless. This was our second stay and can’t say enough about this vacation home. Thank you!

Excellent

We have stayed at the Boxwood House two years in a row. It is a beautiful home that is very comfortable for the entire family. We especially enjoyed the back yard. It is so private and the children's playhouse is such a great, extra feature. We all had a wonderful time. We will be back.

Peaceful retreat

We loved staying at Teresa and Glenn's beautiful beachouse. The house was immaculate, very well stocked and incredibly comfortable. Close access to beaches, trails, stores was so convenient. Staying there rather than the city really felt like a vacation, it was very relaxing. The owners were very responsive and we enjoyed the delicious wine and muffins they kindly left for us. A special mention to Lorri who greeted us, her kindness and generosity truly touched our hearts and made our stay even more special. It was a perfect stay!

Our second home

I can not say enough about the house, Teresa and Glen and of course Lori! The house is immaculate, the accommodations are extremely comfortable and the host go out of their way to make our stay FANTASTIC! We love this house and consider Teresa, Glen and Lori family. Thank you for another great stay at this beautiful house and beautiful area. So much to do and see. Truly Spiritual!

Perfect

The attention to details was amazing and much appreciated / from initial inquiry to 'check out' Glenn and Teresa were responsive and easy to communicate with. Lorri was welcoming and informative. We loved the cake, cheese & crackers and the croissants! We rode the bikes, sat by the fire pit, made a fire one morning and ate out on the porch each evening ...it was a perfect long weekend. We look forward to returning to this special house.

We came back!

We came back, that should say something! We stayed here last year for 3 months and this year for 3 weeks. The owners are outstanding and really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and attended to. It is as comfortable and charming as it was a year ago. We really like this little oasis. It is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Palo Alto and SF, yet only about a 30 minute drive away. The town of HMB is only a 5 minute drive away. But the beach is only a 5 minute walk away! It is the perfect little getaway.

Warm and wonderful family home in a great location

My family loved our one-week stay in the beach house. Easy walking distance to the running/walking/bike trails along the beach. The neighborhood is quiet but friendly. The house is very comfortable and the outdoor areas are great for dining or just for relaxing. The owners put a lot of thought into the furnishings and accessories, from the fully-equipped kitchen to the wide range of reading material. They even provided all the ingredients for making S’mores with the outdoor fire pit. Lorri, the property manager, was a delight. She was helpful with local information, prompt in her responses, and made our arrival and departure so easy. We will be back!

Great location, spotless home, wonderful outdoor space

Four adults (my wife and I and my mother and father) stayed at this home for five nights. Teresa, Glenn and Lorri made the experience a breeze. A lovely bottle of wine left for us by our hosts was enjoyed by all, not to mention the incredible muffins and cake baked by Lorri's daughter who operates a bakery nearby! The outdoor area is lovely with a fire pit and and a table for outdoor dining, including an electric heater for cool nights. The location is perfect for going to the harbor, the beach or into Half Moon Bay. Nice, fully-functioning bikes in the garage allowed my wife and I to take a ride down to the nearby Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Comfortable Elegance

Our stay in July in the coastal community of El Granada was greatly enhanced by the comfortable elegance of this well appointed property. The hosts thought of everything to help us feel at home (snacks, wine and breakfast treats upon arrival, plenty of books, games and movies, and a well stocked kitchen with all the essential cleaning supplies.) The house and the yard are spacious and impeccably maintained. Three of us were in town to visit family and the backyard was large enough to enjoy meals (and s’mores at the fire pit) socially-distanced outside. Beds were comfortable with extra linens, blankets and towels available. The location is far enough above the highway to not hear noise from the cars but close enough to easily walk to the beach. We enjoyed a comfortable and restful stay and will most definitely return!

A special family gathering

We enjoyed every moment of our visit, from the gracious welcome to the final farewell. The location is perfect - close enough to spend a day in San Francisco and an evening at the theater; travel south to Monterey Bay to visit the aquarium and watch the sea otters playing along the shore; or take a day to explore the dramatic coast and beaches (don't miss the Pigeon Point Light house on the way to Santa Cruz - complete with whale sightings!). Anchoring all of our adventures was this warm and beautifully appointed home in Half Moon Bay. We celebrated a birthday with the delicious chocolate cake that was waiting for us when we arrived, along with croissants for breakfast and a cosy fire to relax in front of at the end of the day. Everything was perfect - luxurious bedding, light filled rooms, lovely baths -- and the home was filled with special touches that were appreciated by all - creating a truly charming and delightful place to enjoy our long weekend together.

Wonderful house wonderful welcome!!

A wonderful house, with a wonderful welcome!! Lori, the manager, cheerfully greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the house. So much more personal and welcoming than a lock box. We were further welcomed with wine, cheese & muffins. The house was wonderful and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking implements and dishes needed for a 4 week stay like ours. It exceeded our expectations with a very nice backyard with a fire pit, dining table, grill and heater. The play house was a big hit with our grandchildren, with an added surprise of basket of toys waiting for them inside. Our stay at this VRBO could not have been better!! Thank you Theresa, Glen and Lori for making our stay so wonderful!! The location of Half Moon Bay was also very good.

Beautiful House, Owned by Beautiful people

I have stayed at this Beautiful house three years in a row, and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else! The house is impeccably kept and wonderfully furnished. We love the spacious kitchen , the comfortable beds and the opportunity to enjoy all that Half Moon Bay has to offer. There is a wonderful backyard to sit relax and listen to the fog horn blow, it's like having a built in meditation at your disposal. Teresa and Glenn always think of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, from reading material to coffee in the morning.I just want to say thank you so much for always going the extra mile and making sure that myself and my family are always welcome and comfortable. God Bless you and am looking forward to staying next year at the little piece of Heaven we have found at Half Moon Bay! Sincerely John and Cammie

Beach House Getaway

This was one of the cutest VRBO properties in which we've stayed, and we've stayed in many. We've never had the personal check-in experience that Lori provides. She was so sweet, had some great restaurant recommendations and all the extra goodies she left were just above and beyond the usual amenities. The house itself was in a great location, and made it easy to travel the coast north or south and was a quick drive away from the city, where we attended a concert. Although we were there during the atmospheric river / bomb cyclone event, we built a fire and stayed cozy while watching it rain. The house decor makes it fun to stay indoors and explore all the whimsical details and book collections throughout. Thank you Lori for the care you take and thank you Theresa and Glenn for sharing your home with us. We hope to return some day. Sherri and David Flagstaff, AZ

Our family loves to travel! Being a first generation American and fortunate enough to bring our sons to my mothers Greek island of Zakynthos, and exploring beaches all over the world, we are always happy to return to the beautiful beaches and countryside that is Half Moon Bay.

This property is set up exactly the way we would want to find a property when we travel. We have given this a lot of thought and touched on just about everything one could want while on vacation. Ironed sheets, fluffy towels, lush bathrobes, fully stocked kitchen, commercial washer and dryer, current magazines, (Teresa's addiction), books, games, movies, music, wine, cheese, coffee and cake!
