Set on a beautiful seven acres of wooded hillside, Homestead Hideaway offers you a unique opportunity to rest and relax within a peaceful setting. Located just 15 Miles from Galena, Illinois, our cabins in the woods can be your home away from home while you enjoy Galena, Chestnut Mountain, hiking, wineries, and all the other amenities Jo Daviess County has to offer.
When you stay at Homestead Hideaway, you can simply relax in our cozy rustic cabins, or get out and enjoy everything the area has to offer. At Homestead Hideaway you can expect a tranquil feel and a stress free retreat. The cabins are located in a beautiful rural area where it is perfect to have a cup of coffee or tea in the mornings and enjoy the wildlife. Let our cabins be a chance to unplug from the world and help ensure you have a relaxed and secluded stay. We have fiber internet, but no cable TV.
We have two historic cottages located on the property and three separate rentals. The cabins are located on opposite ends of the property. You can enjoy the seven acres of wooded area by hiking or taking your dog for a walk. Whether you are planning a romantic trip to Galena, a golfing trip, a couple’s getaway, a wine lovers weekend, or skiing at Chestnut Mountain during the winter months, Homestead Hideaway will accommodate to your needs.
We have decided to go beyond the brochure advertising and word of mouth and work with VRBO for our rentals. Do not hesitate to ask any questions.
This specific rental is the Seven Sisters Suite which is located on the top two levels of our main cabin. The lower level of this cabin is our Gleneagle Suite which is also listed on VRBO Listing #624157 & our other cabin on the property is listed as the Brimeyer Cabin VRBO Listing #624141
We have passes available for ACL Nixon beach (15 minute drive) and ACL pool. Open memorial day- labor day each year. You must speak to host prior to arrival for information. You must have tags and parking passes for these amenities and there is a fee from security deposit IF YOU LOST TAGS

Beautiful property! I’ve probably taken at least 50 photos of the home! Love love love the soaking tub upstairs it was truly feeling like an indulgence!! While sitting on the deck I noticed a herd of cows walking through the field in front of this cabin…enjoyed watching them daily with my morning coffee. At night it is pitch black with the occasional soft quiet moo. Truly a little gem.

Our trip to the seven sisters cabin was excellent! Very secluded, quite, and overall beautiful. The cabin was very cozy, it rained for a good amount of the trip but we didn’t mind, there are a lot of games to play as well a covered deck where we listened to the peaceful sound of rain. We brought our dog with us, she enjoyed the cabin just as much as we did, there are surroding walking paths to enjoy. We would definitely come back!

Great house for a peaceful getaway
The house is absolutely perfect for a peaceful getaway but close enough to Galena's stores and restaurants.

Quiet and private
This cabin was AMAZING!. so beautiful and quiet location away from the bustle of Galena. Fairly quick and beautiful drive to the touristy areas.

Couples vacation
Wish there was a shower upstairs and the place had internet but all and all great place. Would stay again next time.

It was a great stay. Only issue was that the listing said there was WiFi and in actuality there was none and no cell phone service either.

Warm & Cozy
We had a wonderful stay! Great location, very private and peaceful. Only 20 minutes away from downtown and close to Galena Cellars. Definitely will come back for another visit.

I purchased this property as a hobby aside from being a member of our US Navy. I have been a member of the US Military for 20+ years. I enjoy nature and being outdoors. I believe this property gives you a feel for what its like to truly relax and get away from the rest of the world.
