The Cottage by the Sea is a fantastic ocean front home that is on a bluff with outstanding cliff side views.
This is a warm, comfortable, and welcoming cottage that has a newly remodeled fireplace in the living room.
This cozy hideaway is a small group favorite.
There is no direct beach access, but state beaches are an easy drive away both to the south and north one mile.

Relaxing

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed there many times over the years. Home has deteriorated over time and in need of TLC. Ocean odyssey is a great company to deal with.

Great view, Awful House!!

As everyone mentions, the view is exceptional. However, the house is horrible!! The location is not good, directly on the highway and dangerous pulling out to leave anywhere. Everything is old/dirty (floors, curtains, furniture, etc). The lights in kitchen are disgustingly old/dirty (old-fried bugs when you look up). Not to mention the crazy, step-down (2+ ft) very old/dark shower. The furniture is a whole other story—dirty and so uncomfortable that we couldn’t get through 1 movie without getting up and moving around to stretch. Was like sitting on cardboard! The place was filled with fluffy dog hair on floor. Also, no way to get air flow (ie open windows) and place is stuffy in pm. Not worth the stay, even for the views, in our opinion.

fabulous place to watch waves and birds. Peaceful time . Well stocked kitchen and clean home. Mattress needs improvement and the shower needs better lighting and tiles repairs or replaced. Spent over a week here and truly enjoyed our time.

Delightful

The property was clean and well cared for. Location was spectacular, right next to the beach and tide pools. Wildlife in abundance. The Brown Pelicans were fishing in ernest all four days.

Cottage by the Sea

Rating Details: The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, it was good. The panoramic views of the ocean from the house were the best. A little close to 101. You can hear the traffic and getting safely in and out of the driveway to 101 was a little hazardness. It was nice to have a large working fireplace. It could been cleaner (there was pet haiir around). The baseboard heaters didn't all work, and the place needs updating of furniture and fixtures. The sauna is ancient. I tried it and felt it was more a hazard to use.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As expensive as this was with all the fees included we were disappointed. The cottage is in bad need of maintenance and updating. From the sagging ceiling tiles to the whole place needing a deep cleaning to the motley assortment of pots, pans, and dishes and silverware that looked like it all came from good will. The bedding was clean and the ocean views are incredible.

Nice location with a beautiful view.

Everything was wonderful, especially the view. No cell service but wifi worked decently. Only problems were we could not find the outdoor garbage receptacle and the locks on both the front and back doors were almost impossible to lock or unlock, we were afraid we were going to break the keys. Note that there are no stores, gas stations or other services near by except a couple limited places in Yachts and most of the restaurants were already closed for the season.

Cottage by the sea Yachats

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were pleased to find the cottage very clean and well taken care of. The best feature was the windows and the views they offered - gorgeous. It was small but adequate for two or three and a dog! Recommendations: Clear out all the extra stuff in kitchen cupboards and add more silverware and serving bowls. Do something about the shower - it was not suitable for older folk with the steps down.The yard was not fenced, and the rope would not be safe enough for smaller children. We did keep our dog on a leash the whole time - it is quite a drop off. We would stay again even without the cell service the peace and quiet were very much needed. We missed the cottage and had to drive back to it. Better signage?

False advertising

The condition of the property was nothing like the pictures and all the windows were so dirty you couldn’t even enjoy the view… charged way to much for that place in the middle of nothing🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

Great view and cozy location, but in need of some TLC.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view and cozy little house. Unfortunately there was dog hair EVERYWHERE, I don’t believe the unit had been vacuumed after the previous guest. The fireplace is in need of serious repair. It does not funnel smoke correctly up the chimney, that’s why there is smoke damage on the brick and renders the fireplace unusable. Either the flue needs repair or a directional wind cap needs to be installed correctly. I suggest getting a Mason out to assess the problem. Not being able to use the fireplace was very disappointing. It would also be nice if there were more outdoor furniture options where you could enjoy the scenery, other than just a wood bench.

Way more than we expected!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway. Nearby beaches are great for throwing the stick for a dog, and the scenic State Park trails were a quick drive up the coast. Highly recommend this great deal! One thing to keep in mind is when arriving, be sure to search 95010 U.S. 101, FLORENCE, OR. Our GPS did not pick up the address unless we specified the city of Florence.

Spur of the Moment Weekend

Reviewer Comments: I rented the Cottage by the Sea on Friday morning and got there Friday night. The location and view with the big picture windows was exactly what I was looking for. The bedroom heaters worked well by not the living room ones, but we got a great fire going in the fireplace and it helped. There was a drawer broken in the kitchen but other that that things worked fine....washing machine a bit funky. Borrowed lawn chairs and sat on the beach all afternoon and read.

Reviewer Comments: Bed sheets seemed soiled (hair, sand, pebbles), toilet constantly ran (looks like it has done it for a while, huge rust stain in toilet (looked nasty); loveseat was soiled and smelly, had to throw a sheet over it so we could sit on it; advertised with a deck, but had no chairs, only cement blocks. Shower-floor was nasty, should tell renters to wear flip flops.
