York Lane Carriage House is a secluded retreat perfect for a romantic weekend getaway.
Located on the second floor, this spacious one-bedroom apartment offers exceptional comfort and convenience for two Lucky Savannah guests. Centrally located, all of Savannah’s rich history, excellent restaurants, entertainment venues, museums and shops just steps away.

With a thousand square feet of living space, attractive furnishings, and large east, south and west-facing windows, York Lane Carriage House is bright and inviting. The living room has plenty of space to sit and relax while watching the large flat screen TV. Open to the living room, the fully equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need during your stay and the nearby dining table is the perfect spot to plan your day. This property has a washer and dryer, making it ideal for extended stays. After a long day of sightseeing, you’ll come back to snuggle up under the blankets of the king sized bed.

The city’s most sought after attractions – bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Lucas Theater, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more – are all within easy walking distance. Whether you want to create your own pancakes at the Funky Brunch Cafe, or enjoy an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Soda and Leopold’s Ice Cream, you’ll be in a great location to explore all Savannah has to offer.

Arriving guests please note that despite its central location, some GPS systems don’t recognize East York Lane or mislabel it as East York Street. The entrance to the apartment is at 425 East York Lane, which is different from and directly behind 425 East York Street. The Lane, which does not have a separate street sign, is a broad, paved, well-lighted service road that runs parallel to – and between – Oglethorpe Street and East York Street and between Habersham and Price Streets.

Parking: Metered Parking
Parking for this home is on-street and metered, with enforcement by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or utilize a nearby public parking garage. Pre-paid visitor parking passes are available for purchase at the Parking and Mobility Services office. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

This apartment was perfect! As a homebody who doesn’t like to travel frequently, I felt very comfortable in this place. It was extremely clean, set up like a beautiful staged home, location was very convenient (parks and restaurants close by, but far enough away to keep the noise level down) and parking was always easily accessible within very close range (within a few doors down). I couldn’t have asked for more!

Birthday Weekend

The property was the perfect place for me and my husband to spend the weekend for my birthday. It is close to everything but just far enough to where it is quiet at night. Which made it perfect after a long day and night out and about. Would definitely stay there again.

There was hair and dust on the bathroom floor and wall behind the door. The day of checkout, at around 10 the cleaning people walked right in and up the stairs, ummmm checkout is 11 and I did not check out yet. What if I was having an intimate moment and people are in there, completely unprofessional.

Beautiful Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my husband's first trip to Savannah and I wanted it to be a wonderful experience. It could not have been a better long weekend. The accommodations were lovely. The rental company could not have been more helpful with info on the town. They even provided us a phone number for a pedi-cab company. The only problem we encountered is that there are actually two 425 E. York Streets. This apartment is at the rear of the house. Once the rental company explained how to get to the rear of the house, we were golden. The weather was too cold to enjoy the outside garden but it looked lovely. Lucky Savannah will definitely be my go to company for bookings in the future when there are more in the party visiting Savannah. Loved the walking. The only thing I wish was in the apartment would be a map of the town for the taking when walking. With so many squares, you can get confused!

This was a quiet location as well and very well kept inside and out. The pictures were very accurate as to decor and layout. We had plenty of linens and the kitchen was well equipped with the basics. This property was very clean and well maintained. Initially the entry code did not work and this problem was alleviated immediately with a phone call. We also briefly met the owner, Rich, when we arrived. He was friendly and helpful regarding local sites. I would recommend this specific place to anyone who wants a great night's rest in a spotless apartment after a day of walking around the historic district! We felt safe walking around the historic district and going to and from events.Most areas are well lit. We spent one full day at Tybee Island too and easily drove there and back. We visited several historic homes, went to Octoberfest and the river front daily, ate at several local restaurants, and enjoyed the Military Museum which is right around the corner. We also had a great time at the riverboat Gospel Music dinner show on Monday evening! The checkout process was a breeze!

Perfect Getaway Spot for Two!

Couldn’t have stayed at a better location. The property is close enough to walk to City Market, River St, and other points of interest , but just far enough that you won’t have to deal with all the crazy noise coming from those areas. We were able to find parking around the property every night…and that was during the 4th of July weekend. The property was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed to keep it that way -laundry detergent, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. They also provided us with sets of clean towels and small containers of personal higiene items. To the manager (s): I would allow guests to decide how low they want the A/C to be at. We could not set thermostat any lower than 68 degrees, which is considered warm for us specially through the night.

Nice place in a great locale if you want to walk everywhere and see the sights of old town Savannah. Perfect place by great food and all the historical sights you want to see when in Savannah for a weekend. Clean and comfortable. Free parking on the side street.

The only thing I would recommend is providing beach chairs, beach towels, and beach umbrella. They apparently have rentals at the beach but not when were were there and from what I understand, the rentals were pretty expensive. Also suggest providing more than one hand towel for the bathroom and more than one hand towel for the kitchen.

Ok stay

There are a few things that I definitely think could be done for future guests. There really needs to be some extra blankets. It is nice to snuggle under blankets in the living room to watch tv, without having to remove them from the bed. Speaking of tv, upgrade to a smart tv so people can access their streaming services. And speaking of tv again, putting one in the armoire in the bedroom to be able to watch tv in bed. Maybe put a few extra wash clothes in the bathroom, and or towels for that matter. It's not a hotel where you can call down to the front desk to have them bring them up. The rug in the living room is terrible. It is hard on your feet to walk on it.I would give this stay at 3.5 rating I would say. Definitely could have used a little more hospitality feel. The other VRBO I have stayed at have a few bottles of water in the fridge and a few snacks on the counter. This was definitely more like a hotel stay kind of feel to the house.It was decent walking distance to all places.

Perfect home base for Savannah visit

The property was perfect for our visit to Savannah. Conveniently located to everything in the historic district we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Quiet neighborhood to go back to at night. The property had everything we could have needed or wanted. Will stay again.

Spacious Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location! Walkable to the riverfront and many of the tourist attractions, along with cafés, restaurants and shops. Entrance is in back alley but is well lit. Clean, very comfortable and spacious. Nice amenities (dishwasher, laundry, ironing board, TV, etc). Street parking was only $12 for the day and we could pay with an app; no issues finding a spot close by. More face cloths and bath mats should be standard, but they were quick to drop more off. Shower doesn't drain very well, but again, they sent someone out right away which helped it a little. We would stay here again!

Don't believe Lucky Savannah advertising!!!

Ad stated "This unit has one private parking space behind the home". This was a big reason we booked the unit. After finding out there was no private parking we contacted Lucky Savannah and they denied that the ad stated this. We made a copy of the ad and sent it to them on 11/18/23. Still no response from them as of 12/1/23.
