Great private location to stay while visiting hocking hills state park. Only thing we noticed was a little smell to the water like a filter needed to be changed but didn’t hamper our stay

A great little place for small family and very clean. Its close to all of the state parks and hiking spots in the area. After a nice day on the trails you can relax in the hot tub.

Great location, charming cabin, A/C, wifi, and decent beds. We loved the back porch hot tub and swing. Except the road passes by the back porch a little closer than I'd like. We came here for privacy and isolation so next time we'd try to find a cabin a bit more remote.

Really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. It was also pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Everything felt welcoming and easy. Would definitely come back.

We really loved our stay and would consider this property again when we come back to the area. The cabin was nice and cozy with linens, pillows, kitchen utensils, and the hot tub was an excellent way to unwind after a long day of hiking. The only thing we would have liked to know about before heading in was that we needed to bring in our own drinking water because there was a chemical (water softener?) taste to the water. But, we bought several gallons of water from a nearby store. The property was stunning and we enjoyed the fly-by visits from the local pileated woodpecker!

We booked what was advertised as a peaceful cabin getaway. What we got was a cabin built right next to a busy road. From the moment you step inside it feels like you’re in the middle of town—constant traffic noise, headlights, the whole package. Completely ruins any sense of being in nature.The bathroom is another problem. Every time you brush your teeth the vanity gives off a strong raw sewer smell. It’s persistent and unpleasant, and it makes a basic routine feel gross.The bed is the final disappointment. The mattress is hard and unsupportive—it hurts your back—and the bed itself is too short. We kept waking up throughout the night because of the discomfort.And then there’s the hot tub. On the edge you can literally see years of buildup—body oil and what looks like residual marks from people’s butt cracks. It’s disgusting and completely kills any desire to use it.Overall this stay was a letdown. The location, the smell, the bed, and the filthy hot tub made it hard to relax or get decent rest. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable, or clean cabin experience.

The front desk staff at The Chalets were very helpful for check in process and recommendations for the area. Unfortunately upon arrival to the cabin it was saturated with loaded rodent traps and unlabeled rodent bait stations. These items were under kitchen cabinets directly near food utensils, on the floor, on closet shelves, everywhere. Thankfully we were tall or we could’ve easily touched a loaded trap in a bedrooms closet. We found mouse remains and mouse feces on another closet shelf. The cabin was supposed to be pet friendly yet there were loose rodent bait stations everywhere and we did not feel comfortable staying at the cabin as it had an odor we started to itch tremendously. We had deep concerns of the safety of our pets and ourselves considering the amount of rat poison and its location. We were at the cabin less than 2 hours because we unloaded before finding all of the traps and poison. We immediately loaded our vehicle back up and left. We were unable to contact anyone after hours. The owner of the property would only do a 50% refund for the mouse remains and nothing for the unannounced traps and bait stations. We know rural stays can involve rodents or other wildlife animals. I would’ve rather seen a mouse than be surrounded by the level of poison and traps on every single surface. I would not recommend this specific location. I can’t speak for the other Chalet locations, but highly disappointed in refund process which would cause me to not repeat in general.

Weekend hiking at Hocking Hills

Second year in a row we stayed here. Owner made some upgrades, one of which was a comment I had left last year, so you know they are listening and want your stay to be great.

A beautiful and peaceful location close to lots of attractions.

This was a perfect rental for us. Private and quiet for our much needed vacation, yet close enough to all the sites and attractions on our to-do list. We definitely recommend!

Great stay.

Cabin was clean and cozy. Just as advertised. It was a lot closer to the road than anticipated, but road was not well traveled. Enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire pit.

Great Location

Great location for visiting the park and hiking and only about 25 minutes to Logan. The host was very responsive when we called and they called us to let us know we could check in early. The cabin is a little older with scratched up and squeaky floors, but that was fine with us. Overall, we would recommend this cabin as it was quiet and comfortable, yet convenient for hiking and exploring.

Great Weekend Cabin Get-a-way

The cabin was very clean and close to many wonderful hiking trails. Be prepared to unplug from your electronics, which actually felt pretty nice, once we adjusted.
