Relax in a swing by the lake or gaze at a chimnea on the deck under the stars to melt your stress away. Relax on a private lake--swim, float, canoe, kayak and fish. Expansive decks offer you a chance to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Be sure to bring your fishing gear as there are plenty of fish to be caught just off your deck.

A cozy get away for a week-end or a week relaxing in upstate SC. This two bedroom one bath home sleeps 6 in a newly updated cabin beside the lake. Enjoy all the comforts of home while taking in the quiet beauty of the natural surroundings.

42” Cable TV (Direct TV with most sports channels) and WiFi.

Ample parking available on site.

Lots of hiking and waterfalls nearby. Visit Oconee county website: visitoconeesc.com for a list of waterfalls, hikes and other activities near the cabin.

Whitewater rafting or kayaking on the Chattooga River thru;
NOC Chattooga outpost, Wildwater, or Southeadtern Expeditions.

Visit the Wahalla Fish Hatchery only a few miles away or go trout fishing thru Chattooga River Fly Shop.

This is our second time renting this cabin and we love it. Host is wonderful and responds quickly. Right on the peaceful lake. Beautiful views.

A true mountain lake cabin.....Marilyn and Kent could NOT have been more accommodating...We arrived a bit early and just as soon as the cabin was ready, Marilyn texted us and we were able to enter early.The location is stellar....Right on the lake...the breeze was delightful.The cabin was immaculate. Plenty of room for your things.Well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable beds and plenty of HOT water.Close to Oconee SP and many other hiking trails.The pictures do NOT do it justice....Three separate decks outside, plus a private dock for swimming and boating...non motorized boats and Marilyn and Kent had plenty of them for your use. We would NOT hesitate to return to their tranquil paradise.

A wonderful place to stay it was clean and had everything could possibly need and if you was incredible. The host was very nice she helped us with check in since I had trouble getting an email and even allowed us to check in a little early. They were very kind. The only thing I didn't like was the grill. We absolutely loved everything else

We had the best weekend getaway at this wonderful cabin on the lake. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy. It brought back memories of visiting a family cabin when I was a child. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. The floor to ceiling windows in the front make you feel like you were outside. There were so many deck spaces...if you wanted to be in the shade or sun, sitting in a chair relaxing or eating at table....it had it all. The lake was wonderfull and we enjoyed floating around all weekend. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to enjoy the kayaks. (next visit!) Wahalla is only about 15-20 minutes away with some restaurants we love. The hosts reached out to us to check in a week before, the day we arrived and while we were there to make sure everything was good. Highly, highly reccommend! We will be back!

Very nice mountain cabin. Great place to celebrate any occasion. Beautiful small lake and you can fish or just enjoy the water with an assortment of water boards and paddle boats.

Great cabin in a great location.

Property was nicely kept and matched online descriptions. Owners were communicative and very accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Mountain Rest Lake House

This cozy lake house had beautiful views, was spacious, comfortable and situated in a perfect location amidst so many hiking trails and Clemson. Our hosts were very accommodating and provided a great guestbook of local highlights. We were very happy with our stay and would love to return.

Our gift to each other

We loved the cabin. It was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the dock. Next time we come will have to be in warmer weather so that we can swim. Would definitely stay there again. Mountain Rest and Oconee County is a beautiful area and very friendly people.

Lovely vacation home!

Cabin is right on beautiful lake with wonderful swimming, canoe and kayaks provided. The house is well equipped with all you need. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows facing the lake.

Mt. Rest Lake Getaway

Awesome place!! View is amazing. House was clean and very well decorated. We had a great time and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. It’s not far from Clayton or Cashiers so we went for some good eats. We will definitely stay there again in the future!!
