Historic Ice House Cottage

This quaint historic cottage,which was the original 'ice house' for the area sits on beautiful Lower Scott Lake on the grounds of the Echo Dell Castle.It is fully furnished and features over 100' of private frontage with private dock. The lofted two bedrooms offer breathtaking views of the lake. The walk out doors take you right to the waters edge. It has a large yard which offers plenty of room for children of all ages. The lake is an all sports/all seasons lake with plenty of fish and swimming.This cottage is very well suited for families or couples.

The views were amazing in this hidden treasure vacation home. We enjoyed the scenery while sitting by the fire and made lots of memories and had lots of laughs. Good times are sure to be had here.

This was more than we expected it to be and a completely delightful little house. It was perfect for two guys who were looking for some light fishing and a quiet place to sit and look at the water. The house has many small comforts provided like box fans and utensils. The host was very responsive when we had questions and the house is very clean and well maintained.

Nice quiet getaway. Inside cute as a button, compfy beds & well stocked! Great communication from host. Would stay again. Decking, chairs & landscaping could use some care. Paddle boats full of water so not useable. Maybe next time

in my opinion the icehouse is a bit overpriced, while the interior of the home is nice, the bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs, the toilet is place weird so you sit sideways up against the wall, the fireplace does not work, its electric, the window AC units are upstairs in the 2 bedroom windows, the host list wifi, there is no wifi, it is an extender plugged in that is pulling a signal I assume from the stone house that sits behind the icehouse, the area has spotty 4g with verizon. The exterior needs attention, the grass was not cut, the campfire wood that is on site for fires rest in tall wet grass no way to burn it, too wet, the furniture outside needs a good cleaning, deck needs attention, there are trip hazards and the railing is coming off it at the door, the kayaks are stored on the ground so if you want to use them you need to clean out the bugs, spiders and dirt, the paddle boats had a bunch of water in them with a greenish/brown slime in the bottom, the lake view is nice, windows need a good cleaning to see out of them better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Great location, walk right out to the lake to swim and the pier with pedal boats and a row boat for use. The kids swam and fished quite a bit. The cottage was spacious and clean and has a very large deck with a grill. We made s’mores later at night in the fire pit. We will be back for sure next summer.

Beautiful Lake

We had a fantastic couple of days at the lake ! we saw a bald eagle ... jumping bass and swansWe floated around in lake .. water was perfect !We watched the morning fog it was beautiful Thank you for sharing your house !

A Wonderful Escape

We really enjoyed our stay at The Icehouse. Everything was just as it was described. We used the kayaks and were enthralled by the swan family. This was a perfect place to enjoy the area including South Haven and Saugatuck.

Lake view

Rustic lake house not far from South Haven had everything we needed and we enjoyed the lake view with eagles and swans we fished swam and used the paddle boat. North beach was the best and Marias was the best restaurant and the Saugatuck dunes rides are a must great family Vacay
