Enjoy the sun rising over the Neuse River from the porch of this elevated log cabin near the mouth of Dawson Creek midway between Minnesott Beach and Oriental.

-Sleeps 6; $20/person/night for each additional person (>8).
-2 bedrooms (queen beds in each plus one roll-away) & 1 bath on main level.
-1 bedroom/bath suite (queen bed plus one roll-away) on ground level (accessible from exterior only).
-Laundry room on ground level (accessible from exterior only).
-Floating dock on protected canal.
-Community pier access on Neuse River.
-Fenced yard.
-Pet friendly (pets must be preapproved; pet fee is $20/night).

This place was very clean and very comfortable and most of all close to an excellent fishing area

Making Memories is easy at this location!

The property and location was perfect! We were able to hold a small family event which was was easy to do with the layout of the property. This clean, spacious, with a beautifil daily sunrise, Michelle is very nice, and makes check-in and check-out easy.

Fishing destination

This is a very comfortable cabin located near a great fishing area very good public boat ramp nearby I plan to visit this location yearly

Guys fishing trip

Very nice place to stay. It was very clean, in a really good location, nice neighbors, even Bill…LOL. Great place for our annual guys kayak fishing trip. Thank you for letting us stay there.

Perfect location for a long weekend of fishing and the boat dock was in a great area to keep the boat safe from wake. We had a great time

Family visit

Enjoyable stay at Sunrise on the Porch for our 2nd stay. Location and property are excellent for crabbing, visiting family and relaxing. Michelle is an excellent host and the neighbors are great too!

Fantastic Place

Beautiful house & views

We enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of room with spacious decks all the way around. The area was peaceful and relaxing and Michelle made check in very easy. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property.

Wonderful cabin for a family weekend getaway

The cabin was the perfect place to stay with our family for spending the weekend attending the NC Fossil Festival in nearby Aurora. We really enjoyed all of the outdoor seating options with beautiful views of the river. We even got to see a rainbow over the river! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We highly recommend this cabin!

Fantastic Stay

Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place but at the same time being able to fish and kayak from the property really made it ideal for us. Lovely fenced in yard for the dogs made it easy to let the dogs out without having to walk them on leashes. Close to Oriental for restaurants but the house was well equipped for cooking and grilling when we wanted to stay in. Will definitely be back again!

Really special place

This is at least the 6th year we have stayed at this property. Owners are so welcoming, and do everything they can to make your time there relaxing. House is very comfortable, has everything you need and just a short drive to the ferry to morehead city/Beaufort area and quick drive to oriental !! We love going and the owners and folks in the area make you feel like you are part of their community.

Relaxing getaway

This property was amazing. Gorgeous views and friendly hosts and neighbors. We wanted to getaway for a few days and explore Oriental and Beaufort. We loved this property. The view from the porch was phenomenal. We woke up every morning to watch the sunrise and sat on the porch ever evening to watch the sunset. We enjoyed the property even more than the towns we visited. We had so much fun fishing!!!!

The perfect house:)

This was our family’s second fishing trip to Oriental & our second stay at Sunrise on the Porch. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, inside and out again! Our dog also loved playing in the nice fenced in yard and the fishing was fun! Michelle is a wonderful host and makes the whole booking/check in process very simple. Thank you so much, we will be back again!

Mini vacation with grandchildren

Nice Get Away

First time staying and everything was as advertised. Perfect set up for fishing and kids. Two piers for fishing and crabbing and a nice floating dock a couple hundred yards off the Neuse river and out of the wind if it's blowing. Also it's a good place for the kids to play in shallow water. Planning on going back in September, so please leave a week open

Relaxing by the River

We love this property's proximity to the river. It is very relaxing way of life. The community is quiet and friendly. The host is very attentive and communicates often. We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint we had was downstairs was not as clean as it usually is but none the less we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fish and Crabs

Property and location is what I was looking for, Quiet and uneventful , and stress free. Found many things to do, civil war battlefield, fishing, aqaurium, Tryon Palace, Emerald Isle and Oriental. Almost forgot Fort Macon.

Another great week!

We love staying at this property at Dawson Creek. Michelle and Dale go out of their way to ensure everything is clean and welcoming!! The house or cabin as it is called has everything you need. We cooked with family, rode ferry to Beaufort and Morehead City and just relaxed on screened in porch! Can't wait until next July to come again. They even make sure to have a beautiful fireworks show for the 4th!!!

Vacation with a Large Family

This property was perfect. Owners were wonderful. Location was beautiful. It was everything we could have wanted! The porch with the rocking chairs was screened in all the way around (including underneath!), so even with our kids leaving the door open, there weren't bugs. The owners and neighbors taught our kids to fish for crabs in the crab pots and we had fresh crab for dinner our last night there. The teens took the basement room and loved their own space. They also enjoyed the kayaks. All the kids enjoyed watching fish, birds, and dolphins off the dock. Within driving distance of a lot of really cool things.

Ac issues

The trip was awesome but the ac did not work properly and the owner only left us 1 portable ac. Other than that the place, location and trip was awesome. Just wish the ac worked or the owners would have got us a few more portable ones or gave us some sort of discount for the inconvenience.

Thanksgiving getaway

Beautiful house with beautiful views! Owner went above and beyond to accommodate us as we were driving down from Long Island and arriving on Thanksgiving morning. Would definitely stay there again. Many great memories made with family and friends
