Perched on a bluff overlooking the Neuse River, nestled among ancient oaks and pines –you'll discover the magic of Journey's End. The shared 70' Dock is ample for relaxing, fishing and enjoying sunsets in the evening and coffee in the mornings. Conveniently located between Camps Seagull and Seafarer, the cottage is only 10 minutes away from Oriental, the sailing capitol of North Carolina. A free ferry ride across the Neuse and a short drive will take you to Beaufort, Morehead City, and the world-renowned beaches of the Crystal Coast. Historic New Bern is just up the river, and the tri-county area has an abundance of restaurants – from Mom'n'Pop shrimpburgers to 4-star International Cuisine. Journey’s End features a knotty-pine interior with three bedrooms, a large open living space, a custom built outside shower, and a fully-stocked kitchen. A sleeping porch with expansive river views and breezes will be the perfect beginning to your Journey's End. Cottage comfortably accommodates eight, and rents from Saturday to Saturday. We loved this little cottage. We went down with all of my family and could not have asked for a more relaxing stay. What was nice is this cottage had everything you need for your stay. Perfect location to explore both New Bern and Beaufort. The girls loved the outdoor shower. Beautiful dock and landscaping with mature live oaks

Loved the homey old fashioned vibe the host and the house give. We were very comfortable and happy with our stay. We stayed so busy with our own plans we didn't get to enjoy all the amenities our host offered.

Terry was fantastic, couldn't ask for a better host. Super accommodating, helped us when we needed to print a document. We would definitely stay again. The quaint,uniqueness of the cottage we loved.

This is a delightful property to rent if you are looking for a relaxed getaway on the Neuse River. There is ample room for up to 8 people to sleep. The cottage is very clean and has a gorgeous view overlooking the river. We were in Oriental for a biking weekend and this was the perfect spot to stay and relax!! The cottage is a quarter mile or so from the Arapahoe ferry.

friendly host checked on us as we stayed in this delightful old fashioned beach house. everything worked well and we had plenty of hot water. towels, kitchen necessities, etc. the sleeping porch and pier are the highlights. we loved watching the water and saw river otters !!, pelicans, cormorants, the ferry, sailboats, fishing boats, etc. There is plenty of shade which is great for staying outdoors as much as we want. We were too relaxed to use the kyaks and bikes, but it was nice to have the option. we did use the outdoor folding chairs! Wi fi worked well too. ferry to Beaufort is very close and we also visited New Bern and Oriental. We rented a sailboat at Bow to Stern in Oriental. highly recommend this home! wish we were still there.

Fantastic Views!!

My wife and I stayed here for July 4th weekend. It was so peaceful and quiet. The views from the back porch were awesome. We will be back.

Comfortable and relaxing.

Great family getaway we stayed 6 days the fishing and crabbing was wonderful. We got to meet our host such a sweet lady and so accomadaing. We would love to come back again.

We had a terrible experience at this property due to a severe, rodent-like odor. We checked in on Friday and were immediately met with a strong, awful smell resembling dead rats. The owner had called me before check-in to confirm my arrival time so she could turn on the AC. Because of this, I initially assumed the smell was just due to the air conditioning being off, so I waited until Saturday morning to call Terry. She dismissed it as an "old house smell" but promised to send a cleaner.The odor was so intense that my son suffered an asthma attack, keeping us both awake all night. While the smell temporarily cleared up on Saturday night, it returned even stronger when we came back late on Sunday. We left early the next morning just to escape the property. I called the owner to report the issue before checking out, but I have yet to receive a response.I did extensive research and read the reviews before booking this property. Because I expected a high-quality experience, I was completely comfortable paying a premium price for this rental. Instead, we were met with a severe, overwhelming odor. I would not recommend staying here if you value cleanliness or have health conditions like asthma.

Another wonderful stay at Journey's End

This is our second time staying at this property. We love it! It is charming, cozy but with lots of space, and the attention to detail is just perfect. You feel like you are staying in a home well loved, where joyful memories and lazy days on the river flourish. I am sure I will be back for a third stay.

Great Stay!

Loved the property. 4 of us stayed at the house and did a mix of golf in the area, Minnesot Beach CC has great golf, and we fished from the pier in the property with good success. House had everything we needed and lived the area. Many thanks to the host for their communication and attention to detail. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful getaway!

Journey’s End is perfect place to recharge and get away from life. We spent time fishing, crabbing and just relaxing. The cottage has everything that you could need ....Terry was a joy to work with. Hope to visit again! Thank you for sharing with us!

This property was such an awesome place for our week long vacation. Beautiful house and dock with so many dolphins and other interesting things swimming by. We loved the location and the ferry into the tourist areas. We used the crab traps and fished off the dock daily. The provided kayaks were also a huge plus. Terry is also the very best host EVER.

Lovely home!!

The owner was super considerate when making rental arrangements with me! The home was charming! Beautifully decorated with everything we needed and amazing views of the river! I really appreciated her thoughtfulness! We shall return :)

Wonderful Family Vacation

We stayed at this wonderful cottage for only two nights, wish we could have stayed longer. My three boys loved catching countless blue crap from the dock and the rocks, fishing, jumping off the dock and swimming with the passing dolphins. What an amazing, quiet and relaxing place. Hope to return sometime in the future. Owner was wonderful to work with.

Sweet little home surrounded by nature

I love staying here and waking up to the sunrise! Observing the morning light on the water without getting out of bed is great!! The ferry is down the street and gets you to Beaufort and Morehead City. You can sail in Oriental, and drive to New Bern to shop and sightsee. We did all those fun things as well as just enjoying the views of nature from our rental.

Lovely Riverview getaway!!

Journey's End was a great escape from our "masked" world. The cottage was great well equipped from kitchen to dock to water..... Absolutely beautiful setting on the Neuse River--Terry the owner is correct just sit and watch the magic on the river... She forgot to mention the lovely view of the moon and stars at night...... Thanks Terry for sharing your little slice of heaven on the Neuse!!

Perfect in every way…except one minor thing…could use a slightly larger shower. But then again, it might lessen the cottage’s charm & that certainly wouldn’t do it justice. Loved our time here.

Rustic and Beautiful Waterfront Home!

We had an amazing week at Journeys End! It was the rest and relaxation we needed. Terry's communication was excellent! We enjoyed Arapahoe, Beaufort, New Bern, Oriental, and Atlantic Beach during our stay as well. They are all close by. We spent most of our home time down at the dock where we went kayaking and fishing. We chose not to swim in the river as there was a lot of wildlife; sharks, alligators, jellyfish, dolphins, crabs, etc. If in the area again, we will return to Journeys End.

Location was great!

Terry the owner made everything easy and comfortable. The location was perfect. We visited Bath, Washington, Oriental and Emerald Isle. We sat on the dock and watched about 8-10 dolphin swim by one day, then saw a few the next day. We watched the sail boats and fighter jets fly over. The house is very cottage like. Everything we needed was at our disposal! We napped on the sleeping porch. It was a much needed R&R vacation.

Sweet perfect place by the Neuse River

Old fashioned river side house with pier and so many little extras everywhere that you feeled cared for like a luxury hotel. Owner so accommodating that I felt free to ask about an unexpected need and she came through beyond my expectations!! Can't recommend enough.

Another perfect stay at Terry’s place

This is our third stay at Terry’s beautiful cottage. This comfortable, clean, well-equipped house on the river has been a perfect spot for our family (and friends who rented Terry’s cottage next door) to relax, unwind and refresh. Great seafood market in Oriental and the ferry for Beaufort is nearby. We walked down the street to the country club and purchased day passes to the pool one afternoon and that was fun. Kayays and bikes are also provided. Nothing but kudos for Terry’s cottage!
