Lovely historic home in Hancock with central air conditioning

This lovely historic home was built in 1904 and has wood floors throughout the home. The home is comfortably furnished and is perfect for your pleasure or business trip. It has the charm of an older home, but has the updates such as central air conditioning to make for a comfortable stay. Having all the advantages of being in town, its' central location is just a few minutes away from locations including the Hancock Beach, Quincy Mine, downtown Hancock, Maasto Hiihto trails, and Michigan Tech.
Some of the amenities include an assortment of small appliances and everything you need to prepare your meals. Bedding, towels, paper products, coffee, and filters are provided. There is a large selection of books and board games to enjoy during your stay.
The home has two bedrooms with a queen size bed in the first and a two twin size beds in the second. The living room has a full size futon with an innerspring mattress. There is WiFi and TV.
Sorry, there is no room for trailers.

Clean and well-equipped home with everything you need for your stay. Great communication with the owner. Comfortable home overall, though the queen mattress/boxspring could probably use replacing.

A cozy home with beautiful historical woodwork. Highly recommend it over any hotel/motel. Comfortable beds, a cute clawfoot tub, and convenient to US 41 for accesa down to Houghton or up to the Keweenaw. One caveat is that I would be cautious if anyone has mobility issues-those old tubs have high sides! Otherwise, I recommend it!

Perfect Stay

Just as described. Kayleen kept the place very clean and communicated quickly. This was a convenient home for us to visit our MTU student.

Winter Carnival

Came up for Winter Carnival and some skiing. We were able to park our two cars in the driveway which was nice, as there is a street parking ban in winter there. Host shoveled each day which we appreciated. It was a good place for the 4 of us.

Comfortable and well stocked.

We really enjoyed our stay. It is a property where we would be happy to stay for a long stay. The provided kitchen equipment, dishes and utensils would make cooking easy. Comfortable bed and furnishings. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the old house with wood molding and trim, beautiful dining room window, etc. Host was very responsive. Enjoyed exploring up to Copper Harbor, would have liked more time in the area.

Rockhounder’s Stay

The perfect location for rock hounding and exploring the area. The accommodations were clean quiet, and comfortable. We had everything we needed and really appreciated the coffee in the pantry! Hosts were friendly and welcoming.

Clean and spacious

Property had plenty of space for our family of five. Older home that was very clean and offered all the amenities we needed. Close to everything we wanted to see and do in the area. Host was easy to reach and quick to respond. Great stay!

Quiet house in a great location

Great little house! The owner provided clear and timely instructions for arrival, and continued with clear communication throughout the stay. House itself was very clean, in a great location. Everything worked perfectly. Cold air conditioning was a plus during a hot August. The locked front porch is a great spot for bikes, skis, or other messy gear. We'll look forward to staying here again on our next visit!

Great Property

Great property. Very clean. Everything works well in the house. Close to grocery store and activities. The owners were responsive to issues and answered questions promptly. They live next door and stuck their heads out to say, "Hi!" when we arrived. This is listed as a two-bedroom house. While there are technically two bedrooms, they're adjoining, and the door between them does not close or lock. I was hoping for more privacy for my wife and I than this house provided. I removed a star from the overall rating for this. There was no place on site to place used trash bags.

Great little place to stay with everything we needed!

Everything was great about our stay at Karleen's place! She had all the essential items available to make our stay cozy and convenient. My girls loved that they had their own beds! Would highly recommend!

Great stay in Hancock

Our stay in Hancock was great! The property owners were always friendly, quick to respond and answer all our questions. They also offered advice about spots to visit in the area. The house was extremely clean and well equipped with everything one might need. Perfect location to visit Michigan Tech or just enjoy Keweenaw. We would love to stay again when we return to Houghton!

MTU graduation weekend

Great location for families visiting their students at MTU. Why not stay someplace with some character! Very clean, quiet and cozy. Kitchen had everything we needed and more.

Comfortable, homey place

Nice place to relax between activities. Amazing selection of books for your enjoyment, also some board games. Close to Tech Campus. Bed was a little squeaky, but pretty comfortable.

Charming historic home

The charm of this home is how wonderfully the homes history has been preserved. Wood slat plaster walls, dial electric switch likely connected by hot nail. Wood floors, baseboard molding, doors all Lilly original. We stayed here for work but I would not hesitate to bring my family here. Oh, and the owners are wonderful. Even provided coffee, which is rear for the reasonable cost.
