We knew by looking at the photos and the variety of listed amenities that choosing Ann and Joe’s home at Salten Point was a good decision, but the reality exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful and located at what appears to be one of the best spots on the Cape – Salten Point in Barnstable Harbor. The expansive yard stretched to the water, and each tranquil morning, while having coffee on the terrace, we were greeted with songbirds and monarch butterflies. Each evening, the stunning sunsets blanketed us in brilliant colors while we watched birds diving and fish jumping near the shoreline. It was one of the most peaceful get-aways I’ve had in long while.
The interior was just as lovely as the outdoors. We had every amenity we could have possibly needed, plus. Each room offered its own charm, and the décor was a delight. I was still discovering new art at the end of our stay. I love the reading nook upstairs, and the view from the master bedroom - wow! The house and grounds were so private, there were moments we felt like we were the only people around.
Joe and Ann created a hospitable environment and made our stay trouble-free. They had clear instructions on entering the home, and little notes about that helped make our visit easy.
Within walking distance to Barnstable Village, we enjoyed exploring the various shops and visited the market regularly. Everything we needed could have been found there, and Whole Foods was within driving distance for some of the extras.
The only negative thing I have to say about this house is we had to leave. If (or when!) we visit the Cape again, we have no more searching to do. This waterfront home on beautiful Barnstable's Harbor Salten Point is the place to stay.
