This little house overlooking Trinidad Bay is perfect for exploring the North Coast and relaxing in a distraction-free neighborhood. The house has a wall heater, space heaters and wood heat, a porch to stare at the Big Blue, all the comforts and amenities, cozy accommodations all around. Whether you want to hike the nearby trails, charter a fishing trip, read several books, or just enjoy a peaceful getaway, this house will likely have what you need. One queen-sized bed in the bedroom, 1 futon couch in the Chart Room. Owner lives on property, in separate unit, which is good if you need anything during your stay. We now offer WiFi. We also recently went 100% solar so if you appreciate having minimal impact, this is a great benefit. WE NOW OFFER FREE EVCHARGING! We really hope you will consider us and make great little get-away, even greater by staying at Pilot Rock Cottage.

The Pilot Rock Cottage met everything we were hoping for: the cottage was clean and the perfect size for the two of us. The view of the bay from the front porch was relaxing and everything we were looking forward to. The local walks of the beach and trails were exceptional. Trinidad offered all we needed for amenities with cafes and restaurants. The simple question is, "would we stay here again?" The answer is, "a definite yes!"

The Pilot Rock Cottage is a very cozy and comfortable home. You can see the ocean from the living room. It’s a solid location. Perfect for a couple. Steve is responsive and accommodating. We highly recommend this vacation spot

The cottage was perfect for us. There are restaurants nearby and a grocery store. We checked out all the beaches and explored the tide pools. We watched the sunset every evening from a different beach. We traveled north and south from Trinidad to visit the enchanted trees in the area. Our hosts were very helpful and always responded quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a great, quiet weekend away. Lights and heat were left on for us as we arrived late. Communication was amazing. Would definitely stay again, so don't book it so its available for us)Only thing we will change when we stay next time is to park on the street to unload

I've been visiting the North Coast since my early childhood and have stayed in hotels, motels, campsites and other rentals. I can confidently say Pilot Rock Cottage was one of the best experiences I've ever had visiting Trinidad, CA. First, the location of this cottage is perfect. Trinidad is one of the loveliest little coastal towns you could hope to visit or stay in. The cottage is a stones throw from The Eatery, a lovely 10 minute walk to the beach and pier and has a wonderful view of Trinidad Bay from the front porch. Second, the cottage was well appointed especially for the price. Many of the rentals nearby cater to larger parties and families and the price point reflects it. PRC was PERFECT for just me an my husband with its 1 bdrm / 1btrm set up. The wood burning fireplace made it a very cozy and romantic atmosphere when cold wet weather blew into town. PRC had all the amenities we could have needed and was clean! Third, the hosts are lovely. They're conveniently close should you need assistance but in no way made me or my husband feel watched / monitored during our stay. They left clear check-in instructions and the check out list was so simple and easy to complete. I will absolutely be booking the PCR again for my next trip to the Redwoods

Great location and wonderful place to stay

This place was great for two people looking to spend time in a centrally located location on the coast. Walking distance to tasty food and the beach as well as hikes. We loved staying here and would definitely return.

The cottage is in a great Trinidad location. It is on a quiet residential street with a view of the Pacific and Trinidad Head. A popular cafe is just a few minutes away by foot and the scenic fishing pier is just down the hill.Steve is a great host. Communicating with him was quick and enjoyable.The cozy cottage was well equipped for our stay and the wood burining stove is a plus.We will be back!

My wife Jen and I had always dreamed of being able to live in Trinidad and then it finally happened. We both work at Cal Poly Humboldt and love to get outside as much as possible in Humboldt County. We live on this property and know this community and have been in this part of California for 40+ years. I am originally from Carlsbad, CA and Jen is from Junction City, CA. I came to Humboldt for the small town experience and Jen came to the university for big city experience.

If you want to be in the heart of a small fishing village and be able to walk to the store, to the beach, or drive to any number of attractions, this is a great home base. The neighborhood is quiet, the neighbors are quiet and friendly, and you can do it all, or do nothing at all, and feel refreshed from your time in Trinidad.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

This cottage has something to offer all year round with great views of the bay from the front room, a cozy wood stove, very comfortable accommodations, a nice yard to hang out in, and a handful of restaurants, wineries, art galleries, and a museum/library. The house is small and really geared for a couple although it can handle up to two adults and two kids under 12 if you are already accustomed to living in close quarters.
