Kick back and relax at this South Padre Island vacation rental! You will fall in love with this charming two-bedroom home, ideal for beach-going families and small groups of friends who want to be walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and bars of this vibrant island community. Although visitors to the Kent House could easily spend their entire vacation lounging on South Padre Island's 34 miles of uninterrupted beach, there is so much more for adults and children to do. Activities ranging from dolphin-watching to kiteboarding lessons are only blocks away. Take the whole family to the sea turtle sanctuary or the island's birding and nature sanctuary to appreciate the local wildlife. Depending on when you visit, you'll be treated to activities such as food trucks, amusement rides, firework displays on the weekend, and many more. Restaurants, bars, and a CVS are within walking distance of the house, meaning any essentials you desire are easily obtainable.

Perfectly situated only half a block from the beach and one block from the central entertainment district, guests at the Kent House have the luxury of wading in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico by day and enjoying fresh seafood, live music, and sunset happy hours by night. The interior of this home is eclectic and comfortable with two spacious living areas including cable TV in both rooms. Hoping to squeeze in a bit of work as well? Plenty of workspace and free wireless internet is provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, pots and pans, and cooking utensils, with an adjoining dining room and seating for everyone. On balmy evenings, you may choose to enjoy a bottle of wine in the shaded backyard or on the rooftop patio instead. The backyard also features an outdoor shower for washing off sand from the beach before coming indoors. The Kent House has air-conditioned sleeping spaces for all of its guests. There is a double bed in each of the bedrooms, a sleeper sofa in the main living room, and another sleeper sofa in the converted garage/den. Guests will share one full bathroom in the main section of the house plus separate toilet and shower facilities in the converted garage.

Feel free to take advantage of the converted garage as an additional area to lounge and watch TV. Its washer/dryer, small kitchenette, and microwave make it a great place to hunker down for a movie marathon. While there, engage in some friendly competition with the game table as you play cards, a board game, or challenge one of the many included jigsaw puzzles.

No matter if you're looking to relax in the sun, spend time with friends and family, or walk to nearby restaurants and bars, this Texas vacation rental can help you discover the very best of South Padre Island.

NO PARTY POLICY: This home maintains a strict no-party and no-spring break policy. Our local South Padre Island team monitors compliance with our rental policies and responds promptly to any complaints from neighbors. We’re excited to inform you that this unit utilizes a comfortable style of bed-making known as Triple Sheeting. Triple Sheeting is proven to be more hygienic and is used by five-star hotels around the world. It consists of a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a blanket, and finally a decorative top sheet.
There is a free shuttle you can utilize. The Island Metro currently operates daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The shuttle runs the length of the Island, stopping at beach accesses, hotels, restaurants, attractions, and other points of interest. All of the shuttles are equipped with a bicycle rack, ADA accessible with wheelchair lifts, and offer complimentary WiFi.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Good location

The place is described as quirky and that’s accurate. It’s an old structure. It was close to walk to many things. Management was very responsive and helpful.

Clean and quiet.

The house was very clean. It was a short walk to the beach and the first house off South Padre Blvd. The house was quiet. It was hot and humid but the house was cooled. Definitely hope to stay there again soon.

Great vacation spot

The home was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. Beds were very comfortable. No issues with A /C. Loved that beach was within walking distance! Worth the stay!!

Our second stay

We love the closeness to the beach, the privacy of a single family home as opposed to a giant hotel and the fact that it’s close to every thing but yet very quiet and secluded. It really is the perfect combination. This is our second time renting the Kent House and we are already looking forward to our third trip.

Califronia beach vibe

Loved that the decore was very retro 70’s Califronia beach style. Had all we needed and for a small house it was spacious with the enclosed car port. So close to beach too! Made me want to buy the property. Only wishing.

Worst ever!!!!!

Location mngr changed the code and forgot to forward me the right door code. They sent a maintenance person to assist us; which took almost two hrs!!! Our check in to the location was 2 hrs later. The house is old and smells old. The appliances are very outdated. Dishes also too old . Everything was very dusty. Dishes seemed like they hadn’t been wash in a good while. AC in front living room was not cooling enough. I kept trying to communicate through app and no one ever responded my messages & there was no listing of the locations manager or the phone number. Worst stay ever! Never renting this location again!!!!! You all need to refund us back our money for all the inconveniences!!!!

Clean and comfortable

The house was very clean and we felt safe. Never had any issues or major concerns during our visit. Would definitely stay here again. Very close proximity to the beach and very convenient having CVS right nearby. Also several restaurants within walking distance. Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen was a favorite dinner location and it’s only one block away.
