Located next to the Ar River. Huge living area with wall of windows overlooking the AR River. Set on the large deck for 180 degree views. Watch the river barges go by. Private boat ramp for easy access onto the river for some of the best fishing in AR. This location is a great location for Fishing, Duck Hunting, Family Gatherings & Weddings. Located 1.5 miles from Petit Jean Grave Site and 5.5 miles from Petit Jean State Park. Take a walk on the Old Petit Jean highway that cuts through the property or look for Indian artifacts along the Trail of Tears that ran along the river.

Perfectly Peaceful + Panoramic Beauty
The views from inside and on the deck were amazing! Lovely blooming rose bushes greeted us as we pulled up. We were esp. pleased to find 2 bathrooms with showers (I'd only seen 1 listed😅)... property manger was great and so nice+helpful. Owner was quick to respond and graciously allowed us to extend our stay. Caught some catfish, enjoyed meals w/family and waved at the passing barges. And got to have our 4-legged family 🐾🐾 with us also. Couldn't ask for more! A wonderful location we hope to visit again.

Exceeded My Expectations
This is a very nice cabin, large with plenty of seating, and the living room is all windows giving a panoramic view off the river. It has a very large kitchen with plenty of counter and storage space. It is a very private and quite location, and I would go there again.

Great Vacation!
We had a great time. The house was clean. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The view from the deck was beautiful. We did lots of hiking and the location was perfect for that. The owners responded promptly to a question I had. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend.

Great vacation experience
We had a wonderful time here. The view from the deck was amazing. It was peaceful and relaxing. Had some trouble with air conditioning when we first got there. Called up owner, and they sent someone over and problem was quickly fixed. We'll definitely go back again!

Amazing and Stunning
This was the easiest and most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had. My husband was IN LOVE with the area and he’s very hard to impress. Everything we needed was in the home. Which, was very clean and organized. I couldn’t believe how charming the home was. The pictures do not do it justice. The deck overlooking the river was a perfect place for our dogs to lounge and we had to force them to come in because they were so relaxed (unlike in the city where we live). If you want to feel humbled by nature’s beauty, this is it. We will definitely be returning at least once a year if not more. Thank you fir allowing us into the beautiful home to enjoy a taste of what pure peace is like.

River house with the best view
We loved this house and the area so much. The house is super clean and has plenty of room. Just up the mountain from the house is so so much to see and so many hiking options. Breath taking lookouts and mountains to see. This was our first time to Arkansas and it’s so different then where we are from in Texas but it was awesome. The house has so much to offer between fishing spots and the view. Our dogs had a blast at this house as well. My only complaints which are very small and minor is that there isn’t enough extra blankets and pillows. There is moth ball smell in the house bc of moth balls in the basement and it’s very strong but I think some scented plug ins, in the house would resolve the smell very easily. Other then that the house is absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to Arkansas and wanting to see the state park.

Arkansas River House
We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and as we expected based on the advertisement. The location was very quiet. Did not have an opportunity to communicate with the property owner. We highly recommend this place.

Great Arkansas River Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The place felt a little like a beach house except on the river. The elevated patio came right to the edge of the water. Really scenic. We plan to return there.

This location was perfect for some much needed R & R!
Everything was just as it was described on the website. It was the perfect place to recharge after a crazy year and a half.
My friends and I had a great time, even though it rained every day. We still enjoyed the wonderful deck that over looks the river. Great place to get back to nature!

Great location!
We had the best time. The house was just a short drive to Petit Jean, which is absolutely beautiful!! The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our 10 year old son loved fishing off the rocks and we even caught a few bass!

10/10 would stay here again
The pictures on VRBO did not do it justice. The residence is much better in person. Nothing to complain about at all. My friends and I have booked many vacation rentals and this has been the best by far. We will definitely be staying here again.

A Slice of Heaven on Earth!
This home was such a treat! Coming from Kansas, we don't get to experience anything such as this very often. We so enjoyed the peacefulness and solitude of the location, the cleanliness and details of the accommodations -- and we especially appreciated the graciousness of our hosts for sharing such a premier location on the River.
Morrilton is the best place to go for groceries which is about 12 mi. However, we brought our own, anticipating distances. All other details are wonderfully provided in a well stocked kitchen. Movies? No worries -- access to many venues are made available via satellite. Internet -- no worries.
Petit Jean, as a state park offers many trails to explore that are family, senior, and pet friendly. My husband and I, (both over 60, were pleasantly surprised we managed the most strenuous - Cedar Falls Trail, just beyond Mathers Lodge.
The accommodations offered by Gwen and Bear provide an option outside of the park with a much better view and all the nuances of the River! Very highly recommend. We anticipate returning!

Another fantastic stay at River's Bend.
We love this property. Our family stayed here for a perfect "Covid Christmas," but wanted to enjoy the wonderful deck and waterfront campfire ring during warm and sunny weather! Fun to watch the tugs and barges go by, too. Our adult children requested this home as a perfect place to celebrate a graduation. Fantastic hiking nearby at Petit Jean State Park! Highly recommend this property.

Weekend getaway with family
We stayed the weekend in the river house and we loved the amazing view of the sunrise over the Arkansas River from the deck. We sat outside a lot and just enjoyed the view, the River was very peaceful and quiet, there was hardly any boat traffic, we counted two boats and one barge come thru for the entire weekend. In the evenings we took advantage of the fire pit that was set up in the yard, it was nice to just sit out at the picnic table and enjoy the fire at night. The road the house is located on is also very quiet with little traffic and is only 5 minute drive to some amazing lookout points of the mountains and the river. We would recommend this house and host to anyone visiting Petit Jean state park.

Absolutely Amazing Views & Tranquility
Our stay was absolutely spectacular! The views are breathtaking; I didn't even mind washing dishes with such a view.
I loved how past guests left things behind for others to use (spices, charcoal, etc). The house offered way more amenities then I thought it would.
I had several questions prior to our stay and they were answered very quickly and in full detail.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEAR AND GWEN'S PLACES!!!!
