Located at the end of the road,with an acre and a half of privacy including 239' Hiwassee River Front. Lots of parking ,,secure fenced area for your pets,a level yard for outdoor sports and picnics next to sounds of the Hiwassee river rushing by, or relax on the porch rockers and swing.. You will find Trout Rivers Inn more than just a rental cabin.
Once inside, the main level consists of the living room,dining room,kitchen,half bathroom, master bedroom and a full bathroom. The master bedroom with king size bed & tv, opens up to a full length covered deck. Below the deck is a secured access down to the fenced area for your pets.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and a full bathroom. On the main level, you have the king size bed and bathroom with tub and shower.
You are 5 minutes to Walmart, grocery shopping,restaurants and activities. The John Campbell Folk School is just a few miles away.

We've supplied the cabin with an assortment of games for outdoor fun! New Casino is only 10 minutes away.

Peaceful Location

Peaceful location on the river and close to J.C. Campbell Folk School and Murphy. House was very comfortable. Host communications were great.

River front - Murphy

Nice home with very nice owner who is quick to respond with any questions or problems. House is stocked with just about everything you could need. Also had plenty of tissue , paper towels and detergent - this is something you rarely find in rentals. House was clean. The only reason for 4 stars there is floors could use a deep cleaning. I’m sure since it is pet friendly that’s hard to keep up with. It is at my home. Top two stairs are a little tricky as they are a different height than previous ones but I would love to stay again in warm weather where I could enjoy the river. It was freezing cold and began snowing while we were there

Beautiful old house on the river!

This was a perfect spot for us and our fur babies! We loved the location - close to town but far enough away to feel at peace with nature! The house was accurate with it's description and had everything we needed (because we were snowed in- but that was part of the plan!). There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms and we appreciated the bowls and blankets for our pups. Communication with the owner was phenomenal. Robbie went above and beyond to assure our safety to their home by allowing us to arrive early so we didn't have to drive in the storm. We would love to stay here again soon!

Christmas with family

What a wonderful place to stay for a getaway. The house was lovely. It was stocked with everything you could ask for. The beds were extremely hard otherwise, very cozy and relaxing. I definitely recommend staying here. My family and I will be back. Thank you for a great vacation.

Fall Family Vacation

Was visiting family in Murphy. My wife and myself, our 3 boys ages 8, 6, and 3. And two dogs. Our stay was perfect for what we needed. The kids love playing in the river and having fires at night. The dogs loved the giant yard and the pen was perfect for letting them out at night. All around it was a great trip and perfect location.

Very nice stay on the river

The cabin was very nice and as shown on VRBO. There were all kinds of amenities including body wash and shampoo. Listening to the river was very relaxing, Overall the location is very good. Murphy is only 10-15 minutes away for shopping and restaurants. The host was very helpful with any questions we had prior to our visit. The beds were ok but a little on the firm side. I think some of the living room furniture could use an upgrade. We traveled with two dogs and the cabin was well suited for them. They seemed to enjoy their walks around the area.

Fantastic

This is the first VRBO that I have stayed in that everything is supplied. This is truly a bring your clothes and toothbrush and that’s it. The view is fantastic, the house is wonderful. Have already booked for next October.

Quiet and peaceful with a river view

Great stay at Trout Inn on Hiawassee River. Robbie our Host was easily in contact and informative. Loved the Inn and it was well stocked with everything you need and very comfortable. Loved to sit on the porch and listen to the river so peaceful. We also enjoyed our motorcycle rides to places of interest in not only NC but the neighboring states ad well. Definitely will be back.

Wonderful place!

Very beautiful property. Very well stocked with amenities. Loved seeing the wildlife. Loved listening to the river from the front porch. Awesome restaurants nearby. Lots of fun things to do. Really enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making s’mores in the fire pit. Highly recommend this place. Beautiful and comfortable beds too.

Peaceful and Relaxing

My sister, sister-in-law, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful place. We enjoyed everything about your house…from sitting on the front porch enjoying the sounds of the river and watching the duck families, to seeing other wildlife such as deer, squirrels, and lightning bugs while sitting on the back porch. Everything inside was perfect, which included all the amenities of home. We hope to return next summer for another “Golden Girls” vacation.

Peaceful and restful

My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. 12 days was not long enough. The wildlife was fantastic. Quiet place on the river.

We have stayed at Trout River cabin several times. The owner Robbie Thomas is so very attentive.

Robbie Thomas had the every amenity stocked that you could possibly think of. We keep coming back to this cabin because the host and the cabin are awesome.

Value Plus!

This rental was a great value and offered a comfortable, lived in quality we really appreciated. The amenities were exceptional and the fact that toilet tissue and other things you usually bring from home were amply provided was unusual yet welcomed. The Hiawassee river was gorgeous and the constant sounds of rushing water were very relaxing. This home is close to everything with Blueridge, Helens, Gatlinburg as well as other sites only an hour or two away making for so many options. The beds were comfortable as was the furniture, ample towels were provided and overall this rental was a big hit. Try the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad while you're in the area, loved it and its only a 45 minute ride. This rental us a definite winner and we found our host very supportive and available though we didn't really nèed anything.

He enjoys off-roading, collector cars, and railroads. Robbie enjoys kayaking, hiking, gardening, and reading. We are both active in volunteering for animal welfare groups.
