Part of a small collection of cottages known as The Colony, this quaint cottage sits to the back of the property and is located just two blocks from world famous Duval Street. Colony Calypso is surrounded by coconut palms and blooming bougainvillea. This charming one bedroom bungalow is a true island hideaway.

The cottage features a one level open concept living and dining area with a full kitchen. The quaint cottage offers a spacious bedroom with a king size bed. The bathroom has a tiled shower bathtub combination.

The cottage offers a nice private deck with a gas grill. The tropical common area grounds feature a large, beautiful swimming pool. Colony Calypso's convenient location and a quiet atmosphere make this a perfect place to relax in the comfort of your home away from home while still being in Old Town and close to Duval Street.

First timers in Key West

Perfect location and size for two adults. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials for our visit. We walked everywhere. The location is very central to the old town. The pool was perfect for some sun and a swim. Easy check-in and check out.

But mildew smell in bedroom…hotel bar/eating place directly behind patio; but place very soundproof!

Location, location, location.

Great location within walking and biking distance of everything. Easy check in process and listing was very accurate. We loved the cottage and the pool.

No parking for handicapped!

Property was quainte and nice however parking was a nightmare! No handicapped spaces! I will NEVER rent anything again that does not have a dedicated parking space!!!

Great location

This was a great property and the location was excellent. We were able to walk to everything we needed, and Duval street was just a couple blocks away. The outdoor spaces were awesome and the pool was a fun way to relax.

Fantasy Fest

The cottage was very nice, spacious for size with vaulted ceilings and private deck. The pool was nice, heated and a few steps outside our entry door. Duval street was a block and a half away, nice walking distance. Parking is minimal, 4 spaces for 11 cottages and are first come first serve or there is parking on the street. Check in was easy, pass codes for gated entry to main entrance and keyless entry for cottage. We would definitely consider staying here again for location and seclusion of the outside space.

The right choice

The pool has a wonderful mix of sun and shade from the property's trees. The bungalow is very clean and comfortable. Amenities are good.

Great stay!

We were pleasantly surprised with our room. We decided to go to Key West and started looking for rooms. There were not a lot of choices at the time. We found this cottage and booked it. I have been going to Key West for over 40 years, I will definitely go back. It's a great location and the cottage was much better than I thought it would be. I wondered why it was available, now I wonder why it wasn't booked!

Perfect Getaway in Key West

Bathroom

Everything was nice and clean. However there was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom and hand soap felt oily. Bathroom could be little cleaner.

Comfy, cozy place with great location

Stayed for six days and enjoyed immensely. Very nice setting and beautiful pool. Plenty of bath towels and pool towels. Kitchen had all utensils, cookware, and paper towels necessary. Washer and dryer available on site. Back patio was wonderful for lounging and hotel and bar/music over the fence were not a problem--had live music in the afternoon and very quiet in the evening. Airport Uber was $20. Walking to area attractions was not a problem except for heat/humidity mid-day. Golf cart, scooter, bike rentals a couple of blocks away.

Perfect Location!

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This quaint little place is perfect for walking access to the main attractions in Key West. It was a little dated, but mostly clean. As other reviewers mentioned, the hotel behind this unit plays very loud musics during their brunch time. It was kinda annoying, but if you plan on being out all day, it’s inconsequential. The community pool was perfect, a little sunny, a little shady and never too crowded. I’d definitely Italy recommend this place!

Very nice

This was a very nice property in a good location and I parked onsite. The unit was clean with useful appointments such as a stove with oven and a full size refrigerator. The pool looked very nice and there was seating around the pool and all the deck or patios at the units. The only poor comment I have is that the gutters need to be cleaned out because at the doors was where the water spilled over from rain. Also, I have a physical issue and the the old fashion tub/shower was useless to me. There was no non slip mat for the shower and nothing to hold on to but I do have a physical issue. so there fore I did not use the shower. Plenty of towels though.

Very much enjoyed, we will be back !

This cottage was perfect for us ( husband and I), plenty of room, simple amenities ( but it needs a full length mirror) clean, quaint , a nice little courtyard with a pool that was just the right size for an afternoon cool off or evening dip. No issues with noise levels, the roosters crowing was delightful and always made me laugh. It was actually nice to hear the band at the resort behind us , we jokingly said we were going to send paper airplanes over the lattice to request songs, lol! We loved all the vegetation & greenery around us, we were even surprised by a mango that fell from the tree while we were sitting on the back deck one morning, it was delicious by the way! This was our first time visiting Key West and now that we know the lay of the land we wouldn’t rent a car next time ( although we did enjoy driving from and back to Miami in a convertible!) as parking is very limited and there’s enough golf carts , scooters & bikes to rent, not to mention that this cottage is perfectly located to walk to just about everything. We highly recommend taking Lloyds Bike Tour , The Southernmost Food Tour, The Argo Navis Sunset Sail & Marathon Mermaid Snorkeling excursions! And we found the Fort Zach State Park was a very nice beach and picnic area. We look forward to coming back and bringing our family.

Tropical Serenity in Key West

Reviewer Comments: This property is tucked away from the street, surrounded by lovely tropical plants and trees.The inner courtyard has a lovely swimming pool of azure blue tiles also surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. Zen like exterior that leads into the spacious, colorful and comfortable interior space.Large spacious living room with vaulted ceiling, a kitchen with all the practical amenities, and a spacious bedroom with an amazingly comfortable king size bed. Having stayed in many VRBOs over the past 15 years, this one exceeded expectations immediately. Aesthetically, the soothing colors used for walls & furnishings as well as the artful touches of photographs of iconic places around Key West were a perfect complement to the sense of having everything you need on a practical level. The outdoor patio provided a haven for coffee in the morning and a cool drink in the evening before venturing out to dinner. The apartment is very conveniently located yet away from the frenzy of Duval St. We were able to walk or ride our bikes everywhere we needed/wanted to go. Highly recommend this oasis in Key West. We will definitely return! Thank you to the owners and management for a superb experience.
