We had mixed feelings about our stay. Firstly, guests should be aware that access is via a very steep, tired driveway which cannot be accessed by car, so luggage & shopping must be carried up. We also found car hire essential as nothing is within wking distance.Communication with the owner was excellent and the welcome booklet and recommendations were very helpful. The house itself was spotlessly clean, tidy and has a fantastic kitchen, although a microwave and toaster would be useful additions. The rural location is wonderfully peaceful, with beautiful views over the Bay of Kotor.Unfortunately, the surrounding rundown properties detract somewhat from the setting. The roof terrace has two loungers at the top of the stairs and a plastic table, but no shade. This is a real shame as it gets far too hot to comfortably enjoy the terrace during the day. It is also overlooked by the house directly behind. The pool itself is fine, but thorn bushes from the neighbouring property had grown into the walkway. After repeatedly catching our arms and legs, we had to cut them back ourselves. The pool outlook also includes a tired wall and neighbouring rundown property. Our biggest disappointment was the mattresses in both bedrooms. We could feel the springs and slept very poorly. There is lots of potential here: wonderful peace and views, a lovely clean interior and excellent owner communication. Better mattresses and some attention to the outside areas would make a significant difference.
