Enjoy this gorgeous condo with contemporary furnishings on the second floor with unbelievable views of the Pacific ocean. Watch sea turtles, playful dolphins, and giant humpback whales from your living room and Lanai. Colorful sunsets are spectacular and can be appreciated from your private lanai as well as indoors. Awesome private complex, experience the South Shore of Kauai at its best.

Poipu has the best Kauai beaches for swimming (voted the best beach in the world). Poipu Beach Park is kid-friendly for exploring, building sandcastles. You can walk there from Poipu Makai.

As Kauai goes, it is the oldest island of Hawaii, and it is quickly becoming one of the most exotic vacation spots in the world and recently earned several awards as a top tourist vacation destination. If you want PRIVACY, RELAXATION, and SUN, Poipu is the place. The awe-inspiring Waimea Canyon(called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific by Mark Twain) has excellent trails that tell a tale of the age and wisdom of the land. There are several kayaking excursion that take you down rivers and through green and blue waters in caves, grottos and waterfalls. The beaches are excellent, and small towns offer some unique shopping. Helicopter touring is another option that could help you experience the sights from the sky. Kauai is not as populated as the other islands, and the locals are really nice.

Relaxing

Amazing location, able to spot whales and turtles. Walked to beaches. Relaxing ocean waves and breezes were calming. It's hard to leave this place.

Second Time, both great!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent. Better view than B-1, but no direct entry to ground lawn area Good appliances, everything worked. Wonderful dining table. Compliments to staff who improved the pool and grill area from last time. I approve of the keyless entry system, which improves both arrival and departure.

Beautiful Sunsets & Central Location

Central Location with beautiful sunsets. The view is definitely the top feature. Two beaches are within walking distance. Koloa (old town) is only a short drive away that offers shops and eateries. Pool is tiny and parking structure on one floor is a bit narrow. Second and third floors are only accesible by stairs. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and cookware but no seasonings. Keys to condo have to be picked up and dropped off

Gorgeous setting

Lovely condo with a close-in view of the ocean. We really loved watching the sea turtles, sea birds, and rainbows each day.

Best patio on Kauai

The patio and View are unparalleled. We saw turtles every day, and I saw a lot of whales spouts. The sunsets were magnificent. For the most part, it was very quiet. This condominium is nestled in a lovely neighborhood with some nice walking paths. We discovered within an hour to never leave food out. Is these little tiny ants just swarmed some dried fruit we had. After that, no sign of insects once we cleaned everything up and did not leave food out. There are a total 23 total steps to get from the lower level, parking garage into the unit. Just a heads up for anyone who has problem with stairs. The pool is very tiny, and was quite cold. We really didn’t intend on using it anyway but again, be aware. The garage takes a bit of maneuvering, but it’s great to have free parking! We enjoyed our trip and will definitely be back.

Family Holiday Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: To everyone looking for a sea view during their stay at Poipu, I would highly recommend this location. We were there at the end of December and all the wildlife you can see from the lanai is amazing. We saw spinner dolphins, humpback whales (breaching) and turtles. The condo has comfortable beds and is quiet and peaceful. Sunset views are great and the total experience was tremendous. It's close to the beach and all the amenities you want on the south shore. We will definitely come back here next time we travel to Kauai. Thanks for being part of a great experience.

Awesome view and location but no ac

The location is only a ten minute walk to Poipu beach and the Heritage trail. When finding the condo I fell in love with the view off the lanai and didn’t notice that there is no ac or heat. We regulated with the windows. A little warm but okay. So if you like it cool at night look elsewhere in January. We could see turtles and a few whales from the lanai too! Also they have an old fashioned key that has to be picked up at a different location.

Beautiful Kauai...Not so beautiful condo.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful vacation but coming home to the condo after a day of exploring the island was a bit disappointing. The condo had lots of thoughtful amenities. It was clean but in disrepair. Window blinds are broken in lots of obvious places. The sliding door gets stuck. The oven was filthy with black, burned crust. It’s also a noisy condo compared to others we’ve stayed at with your company.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice unit, although somewhat dated. This vacation was a 1 year anniversary for me and my wife. I expected to sleep late and to do the things that you do on a 1 year anniversary. But this unit did not have a king bed, HVAC or blinds on the master bedroom windows! Making matter worse, the main sidewalk to the entire complex as well as the parking was right outside of of the windows that we had to leave open for the breeze. So every time someone parked late, went to their room talking, left early (4:30am and 5:00am) they woke us up. As for adult activities, we were relegated to a twin bed in the 2nd bedroom. Again, this is a nice, dated unit. But the above missing items negatively impacted our enjoyment. Oh yea, and the floor was filthy

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time to stay at Poipu Makai. You just can’t beat the views from the balcony. The condo is small but very convenient and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal or just make snacks. We also appreciate that there are 2 full baths. Parking is a little confusing at first but after a couple of days we had it down!! We love Kauai and loved our stay at Poipu Makai!!

Beautiful location, but the condo was filthy.

encrusted on the counters, sheet were dirty, sand on floor, bathroom looked like it handed been cleaned. Pool was filthy. Very disappointing and unacceptable. My son his wetsuit on the grounds, we left a message g e for property management and they never called us back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was nice, clean, and had all the amenities of home. Needed a little updating but overall it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. It does have a washer and dryer which helped out tremendously. The views were amazing though...not beachfront but right on the ocean splashing against the lava rocks with a couple of sea turtles swimming In the area. We went to Poipu beach at about 10 pm and saw about 30+ sea turtles resting. It was an amazing sight. Loved that our condo was less than a 10 minute stroll to the beach. Parking was sometimes a little hairy with a large vehicle but doable. I would like to make a small suggestion: maybe adding a keypad on the door or a safety box to place the keys in so we don’t have to pick up or drop off? We enjoyed our time in our vacation rental.

The view is so worth it!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was clean and the view is even better than pictured. When you step out on the lanai, the view from east to west is amazing. We watched the turtles in the water and the sunsets every day. We arrived late at night & the condo unit is a bit hard to find in the dark. If I could give you directions, I would- but just know that you will have to go on many stairs to get your luggage in. The beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and cooler there were so nice to be able to take to the beaches. There are many, many fans that you can move around where you want them & the cross breeze from the "guest" room is really good. Lots of puzzles there & binoculars. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and stovetop worked great. I recommend this condo even with it's quirky garage & stairs.
