Check out this well-maintained, beautiful beach cottage in The Magnolia Cottages by the Sea. 'Magnolia Mermaid' exemplifies elegance and is sure to be the perfect vacation destination for you and your family INCLUDING YOUR PUP. Conveniently located between Watersound and Alys beach along Scenic Highway 30A, there is plenty to do in the area surrounding this home.

'Magnolia Mermaid' has a new, state of the art refrigerator and oven. The kitchen has gorgeous marble countertops, beautiful hardwood floors, unique furniture and other features to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. Stainless steel appliances and white cabinets make the kitchen feel inviting, especially when coupled with the elegant lighting fixtures. The custom dining room table is large and with additional seating at the counter, the kitchen is sure to be a great place to enjoy eating with family and friends!

The home features three full baths with tiled floors. There is a room with 2 full beds. The beautifully decorated master suite hosts a cozy king size bed. The other suite features a queen size bed. All three bedrooms, the outside patio and living room have TVs for your viewing pleasure.

Relax on the large screened back porch! There is a porch swing, lounge chairs, a love seat and a gas grill, making it the perfect place to kick back on a beautiful afternoon. The home is less than a 5 min. walk to the community pool and is a 5 min. walk to the beach access across 30A.

• Master Suite: (1) King Bed w/ ensuite bathroom- shower/tub combo, single vanity

BOOKING POLICY
• A 50% Advance Deposit is due at the time of booking.
• Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival date.
• Check-In begins at 4:00 PM CST.
• Check-Out is by 10:00 AM CST.
• Must Be 25 Or Older To Rent. Must have 1 adult for every 2 persons under the age of 25.
• Pet friendly, allows two dogs maximum, with pet fee of $350.

Cozy cottage

The cottage was cozy and had ample space for 6 people and is was well equipped for making our own meals. We loved the porch swing and back patio. The heated pool is close by and was a great addition. The cafe at the end of the street had great popsicles and iced coffee.Our only issue was beach access. We used the code provided to access the beach gate and set up at the bottom of the stairs along the beach. A man came by and said we on private property and were trespassing unless we paid 70/day/chair and made us leave. It was embarrassing and unexpected. We had to pack up and leave. I explained that we had a code for the beach access, but he didn’t care and told us 4 times that we were trespassing.

Quiet Location

Very cute cottage in a nice and quiet location. Very easy to get to The Big Chill and to The Horseshoe/Rosemary. The neighborhood was perfect for my preteen to ride his bike without worrying about traffic, close enough for the teen to bike to see his friends, and the dogs loved their walks each day. Would definitely stay there again.

Short walk to beach and pool

We loved the location, easy walk to the beach and pool. We could ride our bikes to Rosemary beach and the Big chill with a toddler and 7 year old. The only minor thing is the chairs could be updated outside. They looked mildew on some. Loved the porch swing. Had a great time, we’d stay again.

Charming perfection

Perfect location centered between serene Alys beach and vintage Seaside! Peaceful back-porch bliss situated in wooded seclusion. Updated and very clean. Short walk to beach, although quite a few steps down to it. Do not recommend if you have elderly guests. Would book again in a heartbeat!

July 4th Holiday 2021

Great location! Perfect location for 2 families. Loved that the house was so close to the beach, less than a 5 minute walk. We found it easier to walk to the public beach entrance rather than entering the private entrance and walking down to the area of the beach we were allowed to enjoy. House was clean, air conditioning worked perfect for us. Also the washer and dryer were such a nice convenience. Would stay here again.

Family Vacation

The whole house was fantastic. Just as described. Had an incredible ambiance to it. Plenty of space for everyone while also allowing great shared space to be together and have good fellowship. The AC didn’t reach the rooms as well as it could have. The bedrooms were a degree or 2 warmer than the living room. We were thankful for the fans to keep us cool at night. The biggest issue we had was that the 2 doors leading out to the back patio didn’t have working deadbolts or locks at all, so we felt exposed at night when sleeping unfortunately. Besides that it was wonderful

We Loved Magnolia Mermaid!

This home was perfect for our family - myself and my husband, daughter and son-in-law, and their 20-month-old son. Beds were comfortable, two of the bedrooms had en suite bathrooms, wonderful open floor plan and screened porch (loved the swing!) Short walk to the gorgeous beach, and we really appreciated that there was a wagon to use for moving the baby and beach equipment from the house to the beach. Visitors, be aware that there are 4 flights of steps to get down from the top of the dunes to the beach. We look forward to staying at Magnolia Mermaid again!

Place was immaculate and great location.

Perfect accommodations, just a little smaller than we anticipated. We had 5 teenage boys with us and a couple had to sleep on the couch but we don’t spend much time inside while at the beach anyway so it did not matter. The only negative was we have Verizon and had zero coverage inside the house. We had to walk or drive away to use our phones. Again, we like to discinnnect while on vacation so nothing major, just an inconvenience.

Seacrest Stay

Lovely house, with amazing screened in porch. Close to the beach. My only complaint is that there is extremely poor WiFi. I had to do some work while here and was unable to. Many guests have complained of the same issue in the guest book. Remains unresolved.

Nice Cottage

Be prepared to rent chairs at the beach. Outside chairs are not allowed. You should reserve them prior to your trip because the front row was rented prior to our arrival 3 of the 4 days. Steep staircase to the beach could be tough for the elderly. The walk isn’t bad. House was tight with four adults and 3 little kids. Great neighborhood with two pools. We would go back with a smaller group.

Cute House but needs some love!

House was cute and in a great location, I do however think it should be noted that to get to the beach there are 4 flights of stairs to get down to the sand. Also the pictures on the web site do need updating, the house has been well loved and some of the furnishing/ pillows need a good cleaning. The back porch is in need of a refresh along with the outside bushes and weeds need to be handled. There were 2 bird nests on the porch and briars that are coming through the screens, which need a good washing as well. Def. needs some attention to the landscaping.

Just Okay

Property could use more amenities - especially for cooking (all that was available was 2 small pots, a few large pasta pots and multiple frying pans. We had several issues (ice maker, AC, no batteries in items). And none of the maintenance workers wore a mask, nor disinfected any areas, as was stated in the property disclosure/ description. One worker in fact, said he just returned as he had a close relative die of covid - and he DID NOT have a mask on - and was at work, not quarantining.

Great accommodations and location for beach and pool access

This property is nicely decorated, great location, fabulous back porch, but lacks in some areas; storage for groceries. The built in pantry did not have any shelves for groceries and pantry items. Kitchen was a hodge podge of mixed silverware/eating utensils. Low quality sheets and towels. The key system needs to be updated to an electronic door or provide multiple keys. We had 4 adults all doing different things but only1 key. Also the 2 guest bedrooms did not have a dresser/chest to unpack and store clothes. The cabinets in the guest rooms were full of pillows, blankets and decor but lacked space to store our clothing. The den TV was small for the space.

Great location ~ a few issues

Nice house with fabulous location. Super easy walk to the beach and easy biking to Rosemary or Seaside. The house is nicely decorated and has a very comfortable screened porch. I highly recommend porch swing for morning cup of coffee. The kitchen has the basics, only has dinner plates for 5 so bring extra if you have a larger group. I had brought some paper plates so it wasn't a big deal. Bakeware needs to be replaced ~ bring foil or parchment to line and you won't have a problem. Bulbs out over counter ~ mentioned it to management when we called early in the week but not replaced. House appeared clean however there was random underwear and kids clothes in all 3 of the bedrooms (drawers) from the previous guests. This was our first venture out from quarantine so this did make me a pause a minute. The biggest challenge was the wifi. Extremely unreliable. We had college students taking online classes and I needed to attend some virtual meetings for work. If one person needed the wifi to stream, download presentation, etc. everyone else had to get off the wifi ~ and even then it often wouldn't work. Called the management a couple of times but they just had us look for the router and keep unplugging and plugging back in. Overall a nice house and wonderful location.

Great Property - Not Impressed with Management Company

Prior to leaving for this trip, I logged into the Management Company's website to sign/print all the forms and gather pertinent information. I took pictures on my phone (screenshots) of all the available entry codes (pool and beach). There were no check in instructions listed other than "show up at the house". When we arrived at the property, there was a lock box with a code required. None of my documents told me what this code was so I had to call the Management Company. The after hours girl I spoke with was friendly, helpful, and got us in the house. The house was in great shape and our only complaint with that was a couple of palmetto bugs we crossed paths with in the kitchen and in the guest bathroom. On our first full day, we tried to go to the beach and our private beach gate access code did not work. Fortunately, a nice couple let us in and out. The second day we tried the pool only to discover our pool access code did not work either. This time I called the Management Company again. A different person answered the call this time - Kellli. I explained to her the situation and her response to me was a completely shock. Instead of offering help (a.k.a. customer service) she belittled me for not downloading the App. I explained to her that I had entered the codes listed on the webpage and she again insisted I just download the App. At this point I asked to speak with her Manager who naturally wasn't available. I was absolutely applauded at the lack of Customer Service. Ultimately, Kelli did call me back with the correct codes and a new attitude. Overall, the property was great but I will probably chose an adjacent property with a different Management Company for my next trip.
