We really enjoyed our stay.

First want to start off by saying the house is as described actually better then the photos online led us to believe. It's an older house but was clean and decorated beautifully. For the money, description, and space you get staying in this home I would definatley recomend you staying here. It's not a 5 star luxury resort, but I gave 5 stars for the house being it was better then what we expected. Our family enjoyed our stay.

Disappointed

The property was not clean. Dust on fans, counters had a film on them, mold in shower, dirt under beds. Lacking in fire alarms. Ceiling fans did not have all the light bulbs or were burned out. The pictures did not show the true age of the property. We could only get to the backyard through the side fence where someone else had entrance to the 'mother-in-law' suite, so we couldn't let our dogs out there. It was one of the reasons we rented the property. The location was what we expected.

Great location

The property was spacious and accomadate our family well, however it was filthy. It was an easy fix and should have been taken care of by the owners. The last thing a mom of 3 wants to do on vacation is clean. The yard was huge but not usable, unless your bringing a dog. The grills were available but due to there location and no seating in the yard it made more sense to use the stove. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the kids enjoyed playing pool. It was also in a great area. Going to the local beach was a smart choice. Clean with no crowds. No wi-fi as listed no TV as well. Had to use cells as hotspot which ran up our bill. Overall we had a great time. For the price and space great deal.The few disappointments did not reflect on our vacation we had a great time.

Terrible place. We did not stay there

This place was terrible. Mattress in master was lumpy like it was 20 years old, yet it was supposed to be new. There is another unit attached to this house and a camper in the back hooked up to electric with someone staying in it. No fire alarms in the house. Was afraid we would fall through the floor in the bathroom as it was very soft. We were worried about mold too. We only stayed about an hour and decided we didn’t feel safe enough to stay there. Part of window was open and covered with foil. Flower pot in living room was broke. Yet still on the table. Would not recommend.

Could use a thorough cleaning

The house could use a thorough cleaning. My socks were filthy by the end of the night. My sister had a roach run across her floor toward her 4 week old infant. I messaged the owner to let him know and I never heard anything back. Also, there was little to no hot water to shower.

Good if you aren't fussy

My best friend of 35 years and I, along with our children, rented the house for an extended Memorial Day weekend. The house was completely acceptable, the neighborhood was quiet, had a local feel, and was overall very central to everything. 15 minutes to ocean (need to drive), 15 minutes to the bay beach (Chic's Beach- highly recommended if you like a calmer scene) and 5 minutes to the town center where you can find shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Multiple grocery options, Wegmen's, Food Lion and Whole Foods, all close. It was a great time Josh was helpful when we had questions. The only item I would say caught us off guard was that there is someone living in another part of the house, a mother daughter apt kind of, and that wasn't really specified or clarified initially or in listing. No interaction with the person, very quiet and respectful, we were probably louder. Overall I would say it was great and perfectly enjoyable.

The House you DONT want !

Upon Opening the front door, we were greeted by the putrid smell of mold, and found dirt, cobwebs, personal items left by previous guests(?), broken down sofa (dangerous), and NO Central AC, only 4 window units of which only 2 operated properly, the Refrigerator had broken Ice maker and shelves, and the kitchen drawers were broken. We spent three hours cleaning the property, while sending multiple messages to owner and getting NO response, until following day. By the second day, we had the place 'livable' enough that we decide to tough it out for another day. It was on the second day, that we found out the 'maintenance' man lived in the 'camper' parked in the backyard !!!!! This house was NOT even close to what it was advertised as. The best thing I can say, the ONLY thing I can say is the location was good. The ONLY justice due to myself and my guests is some form of reimbursement, a letter of apology and a promise that the owner will invest in this potential property to improve amenities to the level advertises so that future customers truly get what they are expecting, and paying for, VERY disappointed with the owner and VRBO for representing such an owner.

Old house, oversold listing, very disappointing.

I read the reviews and looked at the pictures and felt this place must have been improved upon since the negative reviews in 2018. It was not. The neighborhood was quiet with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, however 10 miles to the beach is too far! The house was *clean* for sure. The toilets, the sink, the fridge - all clean, almost like new! But, the house is dark and very rundown, not light and bright like the pictures show. There are rust stains around every visible nail, the kitchen drawers felt like they were going to fall out if you let go of them. The couches were broken and uncomfortable. There were NO TOWELS provided except a single hand towel in the bathroom. There was no central air as stated in the description, there were window units in almost every room that were so loud as to interrupt sleep. The window units leave the windows unsealed so there were many, many bugs in the house. The house is listed as pet friendly, but that only means that pets are allowed, not accommodated. There were large piles of dog poop in the front yard and no access to the backyard from inside the house. The RV in the backyard takes up most of the space, so there's no opportunity to throw a ball around with your dog if you want. There's a missing grate in the floor of the kitchen that a dog or cat (or child) could easily step into and get hurt. There was also too much "invisible" activity on the property for our comfort. An Amazon order arrived while we were there. There were two pick-up trucks parked on the side of the house - at least one of them was moved so they are not abandoned. A political sign on the lawn? I don't care about the political affiliation, but putting a political sign on the lawn doesn't feel very welcoming for a rental property. There's a room off the kitchen with a padlock on it - this just adds to the lack of welcoming feelings. The RV parked in the backyard and lack of access to the yard was very disconcerting. Ultimately, we booked for three nights and had to transfer to a hotel after just one.

Nice Property ☺️

This property was very nice! The only issues we experienced were the A/C didn’t work properly in some rooms. The location was PERFECT 👌🏾 and the home was very warming

Great Location! Great Value!

Location! Location! Location! We were just minutes away from many great restaurants and shopping in the area. The house is older but very clean and tidy. All of our essential needs were met. It was great having bedrooms for all of my children. Communication with our host was prompt and easy. We would stay angin! Much better then staying in a hotel with very little room.

The location was close to beach, and the neighborhood was nice an quiet .

The only issue I had was at check in I didn’t get the welcome email. I had to call and sent an email regarding the WiFi. Other than that no issues, I would stay again.

North End & Chicks Beach paradise

Josh the owner was incredibly helpful. The house was spotless and plenty of clean linens are provided. New washer/dryer was so helpful. 5 mins from any meal you could imagine & 10 miles from beaches! Would come back again next year! Thanks Josh!

Kitchen Nightmare

The biggest issue with this house for me was (as I mentioned) the kitchen. It was "clean" in some ways but not everything. For example the toaster oven had tons off crumbs at the bottom. Disgusting! You don't want to see this when you arrive at a house that you're paying for! The freezer had one shelf only and no working ice-maker. The kitchen was basically bare-bones. The cabinets were atrocious. Falling apart. You'd open a drawer and it would practically fall to the floor. You'd go to open up a door of the base cabinet and it was STICKY in some places! What was inside some of the base cabinets was dingy and dirty. Getting back to the toaster oven, it had to be in a location that was a fire hazard for sure. Pots and pans, utensils, cooking utensils bare minimum. Teflon pans that were so scratched that if you actually used them enjoy getting Teflon leeching into your food. As a wife and mother it was sad that I had to cook in a place that I did not feel comfortable preparing food for my family. We do not have the option of eating out every meal. Maybe if we did this would not have been an issue. One of the beds was so lumpy it felt like it had mashed potatoes in it. The owner was sparingly responsive. After the first day I never heard from him again despite text messages from me. Only 2 of 3 bedrooms had a/c. The neighborhood was 'eh'. The backyard was kind of dingy too. I will not be staying here again. I used to have a vacation home and rented it out. It seems to us that this owner doesn't really care about putting anything into this house which is unfortunate. Wish I had better things to say. We still enjoyed our stay in Virginia Beach but not a great experience at this home.

Ok in a pinch

The owner was responsive and helpful and checked in with me before I got in so my review does not reflect them at all. I booked with another property and the owner sold the property so I had to book here instead because the rates were outrageous at other properties. This place was reserved for my grandparents, dad and older relatives for my wedding weekend. The location is convenient. It's close to grocery stores and the interstate. This place does not have central air which I may have missed in the listing. This is a huge issue if you are staying in the summer. This is even more of an issue since all of the guest rooms do not have window units. Grandparents had to sleep on the couch because one of the rooms was so warm. No one complained (because I have awesome relatives) but I kind of felt bad not being able to let them know about the cooling situation. Again, it served it's purpose but it's not ideal.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

WARNING: This ad is false advertising! You will not have the house to yourself. There is a unit in the basement. Many listed ammentities are not there: stereo, billiard table, BBQ, kayak, etc. Windows are not secure and can be entered from the outside and do not have screens. During my stay many people were on the property without notice. The owner is difficult to deal with and non-communicative. I paid for a quiet home to myself and my dog, I got the exact opposite.

Pleasant home

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Virginia Beach, VA. The home was as advertised and had everything we needed. The rental was close to perfect except a couple of the beds were too firm for my families taste and we had a couple hiccups getting the keys to access the rental. Outside of that the homeowner/ manager were courteous and prompt as they addressed our needs. We would recommend this rental to anyone and will be back when available!

We stayed over Easter break. House is in a nice area close to everything. House needs some TLC. Had to open windows because it was warm out but there was no screens. Kitchen needs more bowls and pans if you plan on cooking in . There is a griddle but it doesn’t work. Freezer has no shelves so hard to store things. Bathroom toilet is ready to fall through floor. The floor is soft underneath and very flimsy. It was hard to wash and dry the sheets and towels before you leave because the dryer doesn’t work either. I would be willing to pay more for this home if you made the updates it needs! The washer and dryer are not the ones in the pics.

Spacious!

Joshua was a good communicator and great to work with and we loved having plenty of space to spread out! The house has some quirks, though, most notably the master bath, which has water damage to the whole floor that has loosened the toilet seal and caused some mold growth on one wall.

Great location central to everything you could need in the Tidewater Area. Only 20minutes from NOB or Portsmouth Naval shipyard. Less then 10minutes away from our locally favorite Chix Beach and 15-20 minutes away from Virginia Beach Oceanfront where festivals and live music can be heard every weekend.
