The home was spacious and comfortable - and we loved Kiawah. Good location, but due to construction/repair of wooden walkway next to the house, there was a lot of noise during the day and the walk to the beach was a bit longer than expected due to the detour. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were very nice. Game room in the basement was a nice surprise! Kitchen appliances were updated and cabinets were well-stocked, but overall we felt that the house was a little tired (front door lock was tricky (surprised it was not an electronic lock), wooden porch/deck was worn, kitchen cabinet knob kept falling off, etc. The WiFi and cable were not working when we arrived, and it took until the following morning for the management to address it. That said, the Sweetgrass representative was very thorough, friendly, and eventually got us up and running! And he even gave us great tips on what to see when we went to Charleston. Since it is obviously a rental property, we suggested the owner leave a guide for guests telling them where the community pool and clubhouse (if there is one) are located, how to get to the beach, and even what's in the area (shopping, restaurants, etc.) Of course, Google and Chat GPT helped us, but it would have been a nice touch. Would we visit Kiawah again? Yes! Would we rent this home again? Probably not --- there are probably nicer homes in the area that are a better value.
