Fully equiped apartment. Our quiet retreat is perfect for couples.

Located on 5 wooded acres in Marquette County, yet close enough to the city of Marquette (4 miles away) to bike ride in for dinner. Our quiet retreat is perfect for couples. The apartment is located in the lower level or our home and was completed in 2017. It has a private entrance, parking area and separate patio with barbecue grill.
A comfortable King size bed is located in a carpeted bedroom, which has a beautiful view of a perennial garden and forest. The living room and full kitchen are tastefully decorated with original artwork. comfortable furnishings, and TV with DISH network. A birch tree theme bathroom has a tile floor and quartz vanity top.

Our location provides easy access to The Iron Ore Heritage Trail, a non-motorized county wide trail network, and the Noquemonon South Mountain Bike Trails. Miles of sand beach are just minutes away. Visitors can kayak, canoe, sail, and fish on nearby lakes and rivers. Lake Superior is only one mile away. Marquette Mountain ski area is about 4 miles away. Blueberry Ridge cross country ski area is about 4 miles away.

*Please note that many Marquette area roads, including Timber Creek Road, are steep and can be icy in the winter. All wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the winter.
We have a dog who dislikes other dogs, so we're sorry that we cannot accept pets. Property is 100% non-smoking/vaping, inside or outside.

Peaceful stay

We had a three night stay that was peaceful and rejuvenating. The property is beautifully landscaped and the apartment is fully stocked. Would definitely stay again!

Wood Song Beautiful Peaceful Location

We loved our recent stay at Wood Song. I especially loved drinking my morning coffee overlooking the perennial garden. We stayed almost a week! We are looking forward to staying again.

Perfect Marquette getaway

Great place just a click south of the downtown, with proximity to everything we wanted to do. Clean home, and super nice property just barely tucked into the woods. We looked forward to our mornings and evenings there!

Beautiful setting!

The VRBO was very clean, comfortable, well-stocked and thoughtfully decorated. Loved sitting on the patio enjoying Lynn's beautiful flower gardens! What a bonus! Eric and Lynn were wonderful hosts. We will return!

Perfect for a couple

Exceptionally clean and well equipped. The furnishings are all very nice. If you are tall you’ll love how high the shower head is mounted to the wall. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful flowers

Very nice apartment. Beautiful flower garden and lots of birds and a few chipmunks. We also saw a deer and lots of turkeys. Over all a very nice stay. In fact it was so nice we’re doing it again for another week.

Quiet stay

Lynn and Eric were attentive to my needs and let me enjoy their cornacopia of flower beds on the hillside gardens. The patio was my favorite place to enjoy the forest with my morning coffee and evening wine. The home was very clean and organized. I would stay here again.

Perfect Weekend

With our son attending NMU, we have stayed at several VRBO homes. This is by far one of the cleanest. Perfect for a couple and not too far from town. The communication was excellent and nothing was missed. We would definitely stay there again.

Harvey property

The photos don't do justice to the beautiful garden just outside the door. This property is beautiful. The hosts are great gardeners. Well designed and tastefully decorated. Nice appliances. Hosts are very responsive and helpful We like this property and have booked it for another stay. It's a little out of town (as described) but quiet and very comfortable.

Wonderful Getaway!

Thank you Eric and Lynn for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home and garden with us. Your Wood Song apartment served as a perfect getaway for us and felt like a home away from home. It was cozy and comfortable and perfectly located. We were able to kayak everyday and explore Harlow Lake, the Au Train River and Lake Superior. Each provided some incredible views. The beautiful weather also allowed us to hike the Portal Trail along the ledges of Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. The views are always AMAZING!

Quiet, clean, and beautiful scenery

Lynn and Eric were fantastic hosts. We were visiting for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Quiet, clean, and beautiful scenery. It was easy to find and close to downtown. We spent our time hiking and exploring Marquette, and really appreciate Lynn and Eric’s help when we ended up in a bind. Highly recommend!

Very clean and comfortable

Probably the nicest place we’ve ever stayed at. So comfortable and clean, and loved the decorations and back yard! Quiet setting, only sound that was a bit of an issue was the walking above us. Parking with our big truck was a challenge too. Definitely would recommend to others, only 10 minutes from town.

Nice getaway

This was our first time staying and it was very enjoyable. Eric was very kind and helpful. It was clean, good size and had everything we needed. The garden was wonderful to look at. It was peaceful and quiet other than the loud walking above us. We used this as a base for our day trips around the area. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

A Sanctuary

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Wood Song September 26-30 and loved everything about it. It’s well-appointed and very comfortable, a peaceful haven just far enough away, but not inconveniently, from city life. The setting is beautiful: lovely, well-tended gardens backed by dense woods. The hosts are not intrusive but are available if needed. When I left items behind, Eric notified me immediately and made arrangements to get them returned to me. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs and Wood Song is definitely high on our favorites list.

We loved our stay at Wood Song!

We were visiting Marquette to watch the UP200 sled dog race. Wood Song was a great location. Quiet and not in the middle of the action, but close by and easy to get to. The place was lovely and had every amenity we wanted. Eric and Lynn were great. Eric even helped us clean the snow off our car because we were not prepared! Would highly recommend!

Five Years Later and Still...

My last stay, with my spouse that time, was in 2018. Since then I've not been back to Marquette. But in August, I had the good fortune to return, not only to Marquette, but to this lovely space. Five years later and still it is beautiful, quiet, close to so many experiences and always a perfect home away from home. I am hopeful it will not be another five years! UP retreat

This is a nice enough little apartment but it had a few inadequate little things wrong. For instance the shower is not very good for a handicapped person. Not set up right . Even with the shower chair I had a hard time showering. The living room couch was not very comfortable with sinking down in the cushions. The kitchen was very nice .the best part about this place was the garden and the flowers. We did get to see quite a few wild animals overall it was a very nice place
