Overall this property met our needs but we were VERY DISAPPOINTED that we were without access to a useable golf cart. The battery kept dying on the only cart available at this unit and we had to have it serviced multiple times to no avail. We had requested a replacement cart and that request was denied. Luckily, we had friends staying at a different unit and they were willing to share.

This was our second year enjoying the accommodations at Poppy’s Place. It’s always clean and inviting. We were accidentally given the wrong WiFi info and the response was slow but we figured it out on our own. Easy rules to follow and pure enjoyment. We will be back next year!

Overall nice property. Only negatives was there was trash on the back porch and used beach towels hanging in the garage. Also the biggest disappointment was the golf cart keys weren’t where they said they would be in the directions so we didn’t find them for a day and once we did the golf cart would not work no matter what we tried. Nothing was done nor offered to fix it.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was conveniently located near lots of things to do and the home was beautiful. Would recommend a six seater golf cart to accommodate the amount of people that can stay in the home. Otherwise we had a wonderful trip.

Cozy Oasis

This house is exactly as pictured! The master bedroom upstairs has a private balcony that is perfect for morning coffee and relaxation. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious and we loved that a golf cart was available to travel through the resort. The location offers convenience to shops and restaurants.

Fishing tournament

We came in to San Destin for a fishing tournament and the house was perfect. Separate bathrooms in all the rooms was great for our different family’s and privacy. The location and golf cart made it super easy to get back and forth from the tournament registration, marina, dinner, etc. Probably renting the property again for next years tournament. Not to mention…we won first place!!!!!

Wonderful Winter Vaca

House was Great...great location and very well equipped for eating in. 2 suggestions: 1-put screens on windows, 2-buy a new grill or at least dispose of current one. It’s dirty, rusted and overall pretty nasty.

Destin Beach house

This home looked just like the picture and had I not gone back downstairs on the last night to get something out of the refrigerator I would not have known about the roaches. They were all over the kitchen which is why the score is low.

Poppy’s place was clean, very nice, Plenty of room for a family of 8. Plenty of towels. Location was close to the beach. The only problems I had was the golf cart wasn’t working. I wasn’t informed until on the way there. I’m sure they knew this before the day of my arrival. I would have picked a different place to stay. Golf carts are needed to get around the resort. I seen the one they had and it was in bad shape. It was only a 4 seater. I would recommend upgrading the golf cart to a 6 seater at least. Also when people book let them know that the cart isn’t working. I called twice to confirm if the cart was working and they said it was! Keurig wasn’t working. Water hose was busted. The bunk bed room had a very small Tv and it didn’t work. No one responded about the Tv. For the price everything should work and the golf cart should definitely work. The place had all dishes needed. Blankets. Maybe put some hand soap to wash hands would be great. Water would get cold if more than one shower was going. So take that in consideration with 8 people. I give it a 3 out of 5. I think I’ll try something different out next trip back.

Beautiful Home!

The home was beautiful and very clean. Recommend: unload your vehicles and go grab something to eat for an hour or so to allow the house to cool off. It was very very hot bc the AC is set on 78 degrees. So we unloaded the vehicles, left and got something to eat and when we came back it felt much better. Other than that this was a really great stay.

Overall stay was good. The cleanliness of the property was a challenge. The fridge had crud in the crevices and the primary suite toilet room had a smell, making us little uncomfortable. The primary suite’s jetted tub had build up in the jets, so we didn’t get a chance to soak. There were a few roach encounters and spider webs. There was also build up by the air vents. We would possibly stay here again, if the place had a deep clean and a six seater golf cart.

I am glad that you enjoyed your vacation at this beautiful home located in the iconic Sandestin Resort community! We have a cleaning staff of over 10 years, that keeps the home very clean, as mentioned in the reviews before and after your stay! We also have a quarterly pest control plan for this house, and can call out our vendor anytime for as needed treatments, although I have not had any other guests with issues regarding them at this property. We would be glad to have you back at Sandestin, and will let you know if we take your advice and upgrade the 4 seater golf cart that comes with the home to a 6 seater. Thanks for choosing BeachWalk Vacations!

Great house! Transportation difficulties

The house was great, clean, spacious, etc. Unfortunately the golf cart was broken and we were unable to use it which was extra inconvenient as the home does not include a trolley pass to the Sandestin resort trolley. The trolley would not let us board without a pass so we were struggling to get around during our stay without access to the trolley or a golf cart.

We like the location of Villa Lago, because it’s close to our family who live in Burnt Pine. We always need extra accommodations for family who all meet up in Destin for Christmas. We reached out multiple times about not having Internet connection for the TVs and WiFi, and no one ever addressed the issue. The x-box, which would have been a nice little “extra” for our 12 year old grandson to play, also doesn’t work. Sugar ants got into our box of pastries that we brought with us from New Orleans. There were not enough face cloths/ wash cloths in each of the bathrooms. The master bathroom didn’t have any.The layout is perfect for our family, so we will consider booking again next year. We just hope that these issues would be addressed for any future stays.

We could not offer a home in which the air conditioning does not work. This home definitely has a fully functioning air conditioning system. The welcome link we send to all of our guests directly mentions that guests will be liable for any fines received due to leaving trash out front of the home. This is to ensure this is a beautiful home and community for all.

Costly vacation

The home itself was beautifully decorated, the management company on the other hand is horrid, we will never stay at this resort again just because of the management company. Four hours after checking out I realized I had left my box of jewelry in a bathroom vanity drawer and immediately contacted the management company so they could have housekeeping retrieve it, well as the story goes it was not found but I know right where I left it. And after messages and phone calls 10 days after our stay I finally got a final message yesterday that my jewelry box was never located.
