We made our reservations at the last minute after learning our campsite had closed due to the fires. The cabin's location and experience more than made up for it. Customer service was very responsive when there was an issue with the smoke detector, taking the time to come over and check it out firsthand. The cabin itself - more like a house - had a great layout with a cozy fireplace and ample kitchen accessories. And the location was outstanding, right on the river. We will definitely consider the same location next time we head to the mountain!

Beautiful home in a great location. The river behind the home was great. It was also near some of the best hiking we have done in years.

Location, location. Fab setting. Home in excellent condition. Any renter needs to come prepared for a bare kitchen...and that's ok. 8 of us managed well.

Gorgeous property with fantastic views

Clean, spacious, clearly loved and well-maintained property. This house felt very private but still safe and we had a lovely time watching the snow come down from the hot tub. 10/10 would stay here again.

We originally booked this for its location. It’s close to everywhere if you want to explore the Mt Hood area and then back to Portland, grocery stores, and the airport. It’s also an easy drive to the Fruit Loop area and up to the Columbia River Gorge. The pictures posted in this listing are exactly what you’re gonna get, and then some— the kitchen is well appointed with cooking utensils, just bring your own food and maybe extra dishwashing supplies (the dishwashing soap was not stocked, but not a big deal since we brought our own stuff). The only few things we would have liked to have was a little more privacy. The property is situated at an angle on the access road and surrounded by some trees. The front windows have privacy blinds but the side windows and side doors are exposed. It’s pitch dark at night, fun for night photography, but it can get a little unnerving when the windows are opened up the way they are so close to the road at night. There is also an open entrance at the back that has no security door to one side of the house, so it can also get a little weird when you’re in the hot tub at night. Other than that, we had a really comfortable stay. We all enjoyed the house with it’s generous amenities, and we appreciated how clean and ready it was at check in. Would love to stay here again!

Beautiful

We were much happier than expected. First positive experience with a Merideth property. The property was extremely clean and everything was in working order. We felt very comfortable and the home has a beautiful view of the Sandy River. I would definitely stay here again.

Close to Mt. Hood, well outfitted kitchen, cozy fire and room for everyone against a pretty creekside setting provided a wonderful family getaway for those wanting to ski and those wanting some secluded quiet private time! Great Property exactly as advertised!

Beautiful house, well appointed kitchen everything needed to be cozy and cook! Love the view, great even when stuck inside, it rained all but 2 days of our week-long trip. Close to ski, sites, Sandy and Govy. You should know the tv situation is not good. Only living room tv works. Master bedroom is deeply flawed. Honestly buy a best buy Android ready tvs and bring them with you for the 3 bedrooms. It's not ok that it's not provided in any of the bedrooms.

Great Quiet Comfy House

Stayed and hikes around mt. hood. It was setup well for me and gf and another friend. He stayed downstairs, we had the master upstairs. Hot tub, nice. Riverside, nice. gated road, fine, nice. No issues, no worries. Close to breakfast on the corner of main road. Killer biscuits. Mirror lake is 15 minutes. It's great. It's on wet side, dark side of Mt. Hood, but that's fine, drove the dotted line road to Hood River. (summer only). It was a pucker up drive, but we got there. Spectacular scenes over the mountain pass where the pioneers would drive cattle on the oregon train (apparently) ...visited winery on other side of the mountain. Easy drive if you take the main road for an hour. The pass does NOT save you time, just an experience. It's not on Google maps. Just have faith and keep going.

Lovely house but not 100% clean

Positive is that the house was very nice. Quiet area and very private. We enjoyed hearing and seeing the Sandy River. Negatives: lots of dog fur in down stairs area (a bunch had been swept under couch!), on bed in down stairs as well. landline phone not working. Ice box in fridge broken. A few dishes/pans were put away dirty. No tin foil or plastic wrap- bring your own. Hardly any salt/pepper, or any other basic spices. The outdoor grill was filthy! Couldn’t get valve to turn on for gas- no tools. Furniture nice, but smelled like wet dog. ****there is a dvd player*** management co said there wasn’t when I asked.

Lovely Space

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family wanted a respite in the woods, and we got just that! The cabin was clean, well located, and inviting. The wonderful access to the river with a little sandy beach was perfect. Our dog and grandson played there for hours! And the hot tub at the end of the day really was great. We will happily return!
