Nestled within the beautiful Wisconsin forest, 4 miles north of the popular town of Boulder Junction / Vilas County, you will find comfortable accommodations perfect for winding down after a full day of outdoor activity that the surrounding area has to offer.

Bring the family for a week-long adventure, or just the two of you for a romantic getaway weekend in the Northwoods for any season. The Loon Song Cabin is located on Kitten Lake, which is part of the Wildcat 3 chain Lakes. Fishermen enjoy being on a 375 acre class A Musky Lake. Formerly part of the well-respected Wildcat Lodge and Resort, the 9 cabins and homes are now privately owned yet still have access to popular amenities.

Sought after amenities include an aluminum 14' fishing boat, kayaks (2 single, 1 dbl),  and private dock with plenty of space for your watercraft. Beautiful accommodations with a view of the lake from a screened in porch room. For your pleasure there is free guest WiFi provided from Starlink. Large Smart TV above the fireplace in the main room with Dish satellite, a DVD player, and board games. Smaller Smart TV located in the master bedroom.

At the Loon Song you can enjoy the ambiance of a Cozy Cabin with all the amenities of home…The Cabin provides comfortable accommodations for up to 4 people; With 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms all on one level. The master bedroom with a king size bed and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has 1 full / double bed and 1 twin bed. All linens and bath towels are provided for your convenience.

Biker Riders: Just 1.5 miles directly connected to the paved, multi-city, Vilas County Bike Trail System. The Heart of Vilas County bike trail has expanded to miles, connecting Boulder Junction with Manitowish Waters (west) and Sayner and St. Germain (south). The Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail is fully paved and appropriate for all types of bicycles. The system includes the popular Crystal Lake Trail, which runs from downtown Boulder Junction past Trout Lake to the Crystal Lake Campground, where you’ll find a picnic area and beach. The new west portion of the trail is host to multiple scenic bridges and crosses over the rapids of the Manitowish River and Rice Creek.  Also along this part of the trail system is Nichols Beach, a great place for picnicking and swimming. Downtown Boulder Junction is the heart of this expansive trail system. There is no fee or trail pass required.

The Loon Song Cabin is located near all the Winter Sporting Adventure you can handle! Snowmobiling, Hiking, Skiing, Ice Fishing, Snowshoeing, etc... and/or just to chill out and get away from it all in this cozy cabin.

Home of The Glide...Boulder Junction Winter Park offers fun for all ages and is open 10am-10pm! When there’s snow on the ground, Winter Park features: Lighted ice skating rink, Warming shelter, Sledding hill, The Glide — 0.8 Mile Ice Skating Ribbon, Picnic pavilion, Bonfire pit, Ice skates, sleds, and other winter equipment available for borrow, Portable restroom. Another great trip to Boulder Junction and The Loon Song cabin! Great location around all of our favorite outdoor things to do: fishing, hiking, biking and walking around some fo the local towns. Kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and catching endless amounts of small bluegills, while the adults spent time relaxing on the sizeable porch and around the campfire pit. Will stay again!

What a lovely, peaceful place! I can recommend it to anyone, who enjoys birdwatching, kayaking and hiking in the woods. We saw bald eagles, loons, and hummingbirds. A cozy cabin equipped with all the modern amenities one might need. Friendly hosts and neighbours.

Overall a great place with several areas to hang out inside and out. We were limited by the weather (rain) so didn’t get to use them all, but I imagine it's great with some sunshine.

Great getaway spot

Had a great stay at the cabin. We are huge fans of the Boulder Junction area and the cabin is smack dab in the middle of it all. Cozy cabin, great three season porch. We were serenaded by Loons and loved hanging by the fireplace. So much to see and do in that neck of the woods.

Weekend Getaway

Spent Friday and Saturday snowshoeing. Loved the location. So beautiful and serene. The cabin was cozy and clean. Will definitely be coming back.

Top Notch - Beautiful Place

This cabin is perfect inside and out. Love the interior and the way it is furnished. It's clean, very comfortable, and the owners are amazing. Mike went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking to get away and relax. I'll be coming back for sure.

Winter Getaway

Cutest, coziest cabin ever! Immaculately clean and well kept. Had everything we could possibly need. Planning to return in the fall to enjoy the fishing and enclosed porch overlooking the lake! Owners were awesome!

Great Winter Stay at Loon Song

This cabin was perfect for our winter family getaway to the Boulder Junction Area. The cabin was cozy and fit five of us nicely (2 adults and 3 kids under age 10). We enjoyed ice fishing local lakes, shopping, coffee and Aqualand Alehouse in Boulder Junction and the really cool new Glide Ice Skating Forest Loop! Great location on a beautiful lake and short drive just a few minutes into Boulder Junction! Will stay again!

Cozy, clean, and comfortable

My weekend stay was just lovely! This cabin served as a great basecamp for many interesting hiking trails with an 40 mile radius. It was very comfortable and impeccably clean. Was impressed with the variety and quality of the equipment in the kitchen! Would love to return during a different season - could see myself sitting on the screened in porch all day if the weather allowed!

Cozy weekend in the north woods

The cabin was very comfortable and cozy. A bit too cold still (late April!) to enjoy the cute porch facing the lake though. Everything was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. On the whole a lovely weekend! The one small criticism would be that the towels were a weird microfiber material that was hard to get used to.

Relaxing!

This cottage is top notch -- beautifully decorated, with many special touches we appreciated. Comfy furniture and lush towels! We didn't cook much during our short stay, but the kitchen seemed very well stocked. With the summer foliage, the water view was somewhat blocked, but we still enjoyed the peacefulness of the sun room. Cabins are located quite close together, but our neighbors were quiet.

Hello - We just purchase this cabin, 6 months ago, in Dec 2016 and it needed a total make over inside and out. HGTV here we come! We have replace EVERY item internally to bring it up to standards and we are happy you enjoyed the newest and the added touches of the cottage. We replace the sunroom windows and patio furniture and painted the exterior. Yes, we are pooped out to say the least. Unfortunately, we ran out of time on replacing the trees in between the cabins for more privacy due to storm damage. We have recently cut trees down for a better water view. Next year in spring, we plan to add a deck – for more outdoor enjoyment. We appreciate your feedback and glad you did enjoy your stay with us. Cozy cabin

The cabin is wonderful - nice & cozy on our rainy days & nights. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the essentials but the microwave is little - we couldn't fit one of our bowls in it! It was also nice having 2 bathrooms but for the price we paid, we think 2-ply toilet paper could be used instead of the cheap 1-ply. Overall, it was very comfortable for 2 people & we loved the fireplace!!

Thank you for your review and we're glad you enjoyed our cabin. We just install a new stove and refrigerator but did not have time to complete the microwave installation above the stove. This will be completed in the off season. The health requires that extra rolls of toilet paper are wrapped. Those are the only type we can find to meet the requirement. They're also good for our septic system. We hope to see you again soon. Happy travels.

cabin and beach we're great. Wonderful vacation with grandchildren.

We had a great time with our 2 four year old grandchildren. They learned how to kayak and had a great time on the beach. We had a minor problem with satellite tv but owner came and showed us how to use it.(operator error). Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Screen porch was great. Caught my first musky also 32". Great place

relaxing stay

Cabin was nice and cozy. We were up late in the winter season so alot of the town was shutting down. It gave us the opportunity to use the newer stove and fridge as we cooking a few meals. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen. The only thing I could nit pick about would be the king mattress has seen better days and maybe adding a small heater for the great screened porch area. Overall an excellent and comfortable cozy stay.

Great cabin

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well designed and well decorated. We loved sitting on the screened porch and watching the hummingbirds on the feeder. We took out a canoe and paddled to Wildcat lake where a pair of bald eagles were nesting on one of the islands. We came to ride bikes and this was a pretty good starting point but you do need to ride on the shoulder of the Highway for about a mile till you get to the path. Then it’s about 4 miles to Boulder Junction. Overall, this was a great place for us.

God's country

Beautiful surroundings to wake up to. Loon Song cabin is very inviting, comfy and cozy. It was a brief few days get-away. One that was worth it. Just to relax and kick back. What a beautiful lake view from the cabin. It is so peaceful up here in the north woods. This has been a beautiful area to get away to, relax, bike ride, hike and kayak. We would like to come back to the Loon Song cabin.
