The property’s no-pet, no-smoking, and door-security requirements are clearly disclosed and accepted at booking. The no-pet policy is essential because our housekeeper has a severe dog allergy, making an unauthorized animal a serious health concern. The exterior cameras and door alerts are used solely for security and to protect the home, particularly during periods of extreme heat when doors left open can affect the air-conditioning system. During this stay, we documented an unauthorized dog, doors left open for extended periods despite reminders, smoking-related evidence, and damage requiring substantial additional cleaning and an insurance claim. These communications were necessary responses to violations of clearly stated house rules—not personal preferences or unnecessary monitoring. We stand by our responsibility to protect the home, our team, and future guests.
