25 mins from downtown Vancouver, Deep Cove Village is a beautiful touristy neighbourhood at the foot of Mt Seymour (skiing) with trails, beach and kayaking. Our new cottage with loft bedroom is steps from the Baden Powell Trail, Quarry Rock, Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak Shop, bistros, coffee shops, Panorama Park, Deep Cove Theatre & Arts & Cultural Centre. Our suite is a brand new above ground property in a peaceful and quiet creekside setting w/ water and forest views. The loft bedroom has views of Deep Cove's harbour amongst the trees. The second bedroom/den looks onto the deck and creekside. The living, kitchen and dining area has dual views of the garden and view to the marina with boats and kayaking. You have both a deck and a bluestone garden patio to enjoy in the spring/summer. The bathroom has a large shower with rainshower head and heated floors. You have access to two kayaks as well. In addition to TV and WiFi we can supply board games as well :). Architecturally designed, tastefully furnished.

Cozy getaway

Loved this little place. The loft was so cute and the amenities were great. Clean and comfy, lots of books, tv, fireplace. Would highly recommend for mountain getaway, close to mount Seymour and deep cove.

Perfect Getaway

It rained throughout our stay but we were cozy and comfortable in this lovely cottage. The host was wonderful, too! We look forward to our next stay in Deep Cove.

Amazing stay

What can we say, we loved it! Our hosts were really friendly and very knowledgable about the local area offering loads of advice and tips on days out. Use of the kayaks was amazing, hummingbirds, squirells deer and my personal highlight the black bear all visited the property. Tha k youthe property

Wonderful, peaceful place, great location

We stayed for a few days and enjoyed everything about the cottage and outdoor spaces. Everything was clean and beautifully maintained. I loved the interior decor. We got used to the spiral staircase to the loft pretty quickly. We liked the sound of the stream that flows between the houses. We liked being able to park at the property and walk down the hill into town and the beach. We joked that walking back up the street was training for the hike to Quarry Rock! We enjoyed that hike on a Monday morning. Great to have the access just up the street. We rented kayaks from the kayak centre. So peaceful and refreshing! The owners were friendly and helpful.

Dream spot

This place is perfect if you want to visit Vancouver and surrounding areas, but feel like you are in a forest oasis!! The space is clean, well decorated, with little touches - great art work, towels, bedding and dishware. The host has an amazing garden and close to the famous quarry rock trails. excellent dining in deep cove and great coffee meet up spots. I highly recommend this place. easy check in/out

Quirky little house in the hills!

We did enjoy our first few nights in Vancouver in this quirky little house in Deep Cove. It was very clean and comfortable, well-equipped and especially cosy by the fireside while it poured with rain! The mezzanine bedroom though fun is not for everyone! The spiral staircase is very narrow and impossible to bring a suitcase up, so all unpacking had to be downstairs in the room with the sofabed. It had several windows/skylights with no blinds or curtains, so the room never gets dark. Difficult when you have flown in from abroad and want to go to bed at 8.00! The house was fun for a couple for a few days, but I think would have been difficult for more than two people.

Hidden Gem

Hidden gem in the middle of the lush West Coast rain forest, away from Vancouver busy streets but still close by. It was really hard for us to leave this place. Whole family enjoyed it.

Wonderful mountain getaway

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was just like the pictures showed. We did a lot of walking from the property to downtown Deep Cove. Its a steep hill for recommend good walking shoes. I was pleasantly surprised to be at an entrance to the Baden Powell trail. That was an incredible hike. A must do! Deep Cove had a little bit of everything and it was a close drive from the airport and other parts of BC. Thank you to Greg and Kathryn for a great stay!

Cozy and Peaceful

A spectacular little place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location is peaceful and a short walk from "downtown" Deep Cove for access to coffee/restaurants etc. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs, and we cooked several meals during our time here. Not sure what some of the previous critical reviews were about but we had zero concerns with the condition of the suite. It was clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. The hosts were present and attentive without feeling intrusive or imposing. Very highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

October Vacation

My partner and I stayed at this location and loved that it was so quiet. It’s also within walking distance of some great local restaurants and the water. A few dislikes were that there is a skylight in the washroom making things visible from next door and although there is caution provided about the staircase, it’s very tight, hard to maneuver around and we both had hit our heads a number of times on the ceiling. The owners had great communication though and are friendly people. Weighing the pros and the cons, I would stay here again if some adjustments were made.

Deep Cove

Overall good. Excellent location, beautiful gardens and mostly privacy. Lots of natural lighting via lots of windows, doors and skylights. Great appliances. Lovely layout. Though there was some difficulty at first connecting with the host because they were out of range subsequent to that we could connect with various methods and were often invited to do so. We would stay here again. If you plan to cook while staying here there were some annoying inconveniences. But our host was very receptive to hearing about them and with minimal effort and expense they could all be rectified. We stayed for a week. Having no dresser or closet in the main loft bedroom meant we lived out of our suitcase and that on the main floor as we wouldn’t attempt to take our full size luggage up the narrow spiral staircase. We are in the early senior age category and had no problems with access etc. But we often thought of friends with aging mobility issues that would have difficulties with enjoying this location and layout. Perhaps that could be included in the info listed describing this place.

Fun little place in a beautiful spot!

We felt very lucky that the hosts allowed us to bring our dog. This is such a beautiful spot and a cool little suite. I particularly loved the loft. Be aware there is a steep spiral staircase if you have mobility challenges. Thank you hosts!

Deep Cove - September 2023

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well-stocked and all of the household appliances were nice. Deep Cove is a wonderful place to stay if you want a tranquil place with easy access to Vancouver. We enjoyed walking along the waterfront and in the forest via the hiking trail just up the street from this property.

Overall Disappointment

We use VRBO often, and have been reviewed as 5-star guests. We rely on reviews and are stymied why this was so highly rated. Deep Cove is a must-see in Vancouver. Do-nut Shop is terrific. Trails accessible. The unit: Porches pretty places to sit. The fireplace was lovely; the TV did not have 400 channels, only a few we could access. Street to property is VERY steep and densely populated, so there are lots of cars jockeying for available parking. This home has NO ADDRESS on the street and one cannot even see it in the trees. Owner had phone turned off and was no help. We parked and went on foot to try to locate it. Accidental find as spouse just happened to be coming up to street. (This is a business; no address?; how did those with good reviews even find it?) Once in, it was initially impressive, but into the stay (from the quality of the bedding, sofa, pillows, dinnerware, etc.), it felt "thrifted." The second bed had blood on the sheets! The window coverings were awful paper accordion style, torn and needed clips to stay open, but we could not find but a few so we could not see outside. Ditto on cob webs in the bath and skylights. Unit is not NEW; inadequate cookware; it is very much in need of some TLC. Some furniture is changed out from pics. It is owner serviced and people have different versions of clean, but this (esp. the sheets) was not our taste of excellence. This review will come as not surprise to the owner; her response: "I just haven't gotten around to it."
