Hedgehog Harbor House is the perfect place for a family vacation or a couples' retreat. Here, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Door County to revel in the peace and quiet of Gills Rock, yet close enough to easily access great outdoor recreation, dining, arts and culture. Relax on the front deck with a view of Hedgehog Harbor, and enjoy the morning sun on the white birches from the back patio. Warm up on chilly spring and autumn evenings by the fireplace, or sit around the fire-pit gazing at the stars. There's plenty of room on the lower level for the kids to spread out and play games, a loft with a view for readers to cozy up with a book, and a three season room to play cards. Whether you're into biking, hiking, water sports, sightseeing, shopping -- or just wanting to come to Northern Door for its wonderful restorative nature, this is the place to be. You'll quickly discover why we call our little piece of Gills Rock the "relaxation zone."

Family Getaway

My husband and I and our two adult daughters and their spouses and our three grandchildren stayed for the weekend…house was great with plenty of room. Location was lovely and we had great weather..would definitely stay again

Great Place and Spectacular Location

Great place with a great layout. Be forewarned, you will need to bring bath towels and staples such as salt and pepper. The locations is quiet and very private. We would stay here again.

Fantastic Accomodations

This property is really wonderful if you are looking to enjoy a quiet part of Door County. The house itself has a beautiful wall of windows. We will stay here again.

Great house

This is a great house for a family vacation. 2-story vault ceiling allows a Great Lake view. The house is well layout and very clean. It is in a very quiet section of Gills Rock by the water. We had a nice bonfire and enjoyed each other’s company.

Beautiful home, great location!

The house was perfect for our large family, even our dogs. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to see and visit in the surrounding towns. We were able to come back at night, make dinner and settle in around a fire in either the fireplace or fire pit. Just a lovely vacation and place to stay!

Kids had a blast

Great place for our large family. The grandkids had so much fun running around on the property. Loved the location. Wish the weather would have been more cooperative but still a good time had by all.

Perfect relaxing vacation home

The home is beautiful and well appointed. Our family of 7 had all the room we needed. Our favorite part of this property was the fire pit in the back. It was far enough to have peace and quiet and close enough to all of the activities of the towns. My personal favorite part of this home were the windows with sunlight streaming in from all angles! Thanks for a wonderful vacation for our family! We will be back!

Door County Family Trip

We had a wonderful time! The property had beautiful views of the water and large open spaces for the whole family to gather. Our hosts were wonderful and made sure that we had everything we needed while we were there and truly made our stay special. We would stay there again if we were to plan another Door County Vacation in the future.

Hedgehog Harbor Hideway

Beautiful home located across the street from the bay in a quieter part of Door county. The owner checked in on us to make sure everything was going well during our stay and was very helpful. The house accommodated 8 adults with ease. We are hoping to go back again tomorrow n the fall.

Great Space

We had plenty of space in the house to gather & to find peace & quiet. We enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace on these cool October days. Loved the quiet location close to Washington island ferry & north end restaurants. Really loved the gorgeous Night Sky! Thank you.

Comfortable and spacious vacation home.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful home. It had a great layout for our family, plenty of room. Our five year old grand daughter loved her daybed in the loft. Location of the house is on a quiet road, with water views across the street. The hosts, Dave & Pat, always communicated in a very timely manner.

Large, wonderful Cottage at the lake

This family group of six adults and two children enjoyed two weeks in this very comfortable, well equipped a-frame lake view cottage. The owners have equipped this home with all the equipment and furniture to make it a place we would return to. The owners were very responsive to any questions that we sent their way, and they were eager to resolve any problems.

Spacious, beautiful home

Our mother/daughter weekend was enhanced by this spacious home. The windows offered beautiful vistas of the water and surrounding landscape. It's location in northern Door County is perfect for those who like to be close to activities yet peacefulness of the area. The owner was very friendly and responsive to any questions, comments and inquiries.

Annual June Door County Girls Get-Away

We are a female family group -- sisters, nieces, sister-in-law, cousins -- who have for the last 20+ years gather in June for a week in Door County. This house met every need. Big, spacious, 3 bathrooms, quiet areas, gathering areas. Beautiful setting with an outdoor patio, fire pit, huge front deck to view the water. It's located outside the busy life of Door Cty but close enough to enjoy shopping, restaurants.

Huge and well Kept

Visited for a group NYE weekend stay. This was a beautifully maintained home with well more than enough space for the 12 people they advertise it holding. Bedrooms upstairs, on the main floor, and the basement with a fully equipped kitchen. Hosts were very responsive to questions and phone calls. I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay in this house. It is in a beautiful area and the house had plenty of room for our group of did. The new wifi worked well. The owners were very responsive and kindly answered my questions about the house and the area. I would have given the house five stars if it had come better equipped with items one would expect from a rental like bath towels, toilet paper, and soap. The owners did provide us with a list of items to bring so we were warned in advance and did bring our own, but for those traveling by plane, there was a lot to bring.

Views of the Water and the Stars!

Multi generational family fun! Lots of light. The basement has two twin beds and a full futon and a bedroom with another full bed! Family with kids works well there. There is a public spot to park and enjoy the view just north of the home. Super close to the Washington Island ferry. 15 minutes from sister bay. 30 to peninsula state park. There are 3 convenient full baths- one on each level. Fire pit patio and deck has good seating. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way! Such a Nice spot to rest, spread out and call home-base. Thanks!
