We had a big family stay here. Upon arrival the owner was there with his dog, met the family and could likely tell we were good people. However, one of the first comments he made after he lost his dogs leash was "I wonder what else you're going to steal" - essentially accusing us of this 15 minutes into our arrival.
We left a night early bc of the long drive with young kids. We let him know. A week later I got this message "Not sure what you did to my countertops, but they have to be replaced. Also, I do not appreciate the paint on my dock."
We've stayed with the same people at similar houses for the last decade and have never heard anything but nice after we left. It's always clean and always taken care of. I gave him the email to send pics and videos of the "damaged areas" and he fell off, but hasn't removed my negative review. Had he said the kids play room was a mess, it may have been more believable.
1) We cleaned incessantly and the place was spotless when we left. My mom (70 years old) cleaned every single day and did most of the cooking
2) How on earth could granite countertops be damaged to the point of needing replaced? We used the kitchen to cook, cutting boards to cut, etc.
3) the "paint" on the dock was nothing more than scented fish bait, easily washed off with something called water.
The guy is clearly trying to scam us into getting him new countertops that someone else damaged. Stay away or you'll get extorted too.
