A true beach house

This house is what you imagine when you think beach house. The view is everything. Coffee and cocktails on the deck while looking at the ocean. Perfection. The main areas are open and spacious for family games and room for everyone to sit comfortably. We played ping ping, took walks and went to the beach. The house is very clean and had all the basics we needed. The neighborhood is all hills but that was good to work off the food we ate. Our pup loved it too. So many new smells. The beach is barely a five minute drive. We will definitely be back.

Fun family stay

The house is great for groups going to the beach. It could use some minor repairs (blinds in the rooms are missing, one toilet is a little loose, dining chairs need to be fixed).

Easter weekend in Dillon beach

The most amazing view. We had great weather and from the houses vantage point you can see for miles in every direction. Our friends stayed at 2 other houses in Dillon Beach so we got to see 3 different properties. We definitely had the best house. Everyone wanted to hang out at our place, Jacuzzi is really nice and perfectly situated for enjoying the view. Ping pong, foozball and darts were great activities for our teens. Overall, excellent property.

Beautiful Getaway

This house is actually better than the pictures. Very clean, wonderful views and a great fireplace. Sunsets in the hot tub with wine are where it's at. The management was also very accommodating with our dogs, which was a huge plus. My only word of caution is that the dogs have to go downstairs to potty, which was a bit of a challenge for our senior Sheppard. She still loved it though. We highly recommend this home.

Nice & Relaxing

It was a nice relaxing place to enjoy nature & family. Although not as close to the ocean as expected, the hot tub was a delight. The lock box was a little challenging to use and find :) The items that were available such as kitchen condiments, dishes, pots & pans were sweet. A binder was on the kitchen counter with all the info about the house, community and rules. Communication was also great! Overall, we had a good time!

Loved Whale Watch!!

Whale Watch is an amazing property! The pictures do not do it justice. The ocean views are absolutely gorgeous and the house is beautiful! Upon entering, we were greeted with lights on, a warm fire (gas) burning and tranquil music playing. We felt like we were going to a spa. Really nice touch as it was a foggy afternoon. I was traveling with my husband and another couple so we had plenty of space and then some! The house was clean and was equipped with everything we needed. We made use of the hot tub and played a bit of ping pong but mostly took advantage of walking on the beach and taking in the amazing views. We'll definitely be back!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Weather was incredible the entire weekend; the house views were great. The location was farther than our original house that had a maintenance issue. Many items in the house broke while they're due to not being attended to. The window in the dining room and the sliding doors, except for one, did not have screens. So, we had yellow jackets entering the house since it was so hot that weekend we needed the windows open without screens. The house is a bit outdated, but with some minor fix-its, it could be a great house.

Things we wish we knew

Would have liked a bottle of purpose cleaner to speed up cleaning in kitchen, knowing we needed to bring dishwasher soap. Knowing we needed to bring detergent for the washing machine. We were provided two units for each machine which was not enough. We left dirty dishes in the machine and we do not do that. Heating each room was a thing. The main room wasn’t an issue but we froze our butts off in the bedroom. Didn’t know we had to turn on the heater by hand. The post they provided inside when we arrived didn’t mention this. Saturday was very stormy and caused interior leaking in the dinning room under the heater unit - something to check Didn’t see a scraper for the grill. So we grilled on a dirty grill Master bed needs to be updated, this bed is noisy and uncomfortable please please update this Couch was amazing View is amazing

It’s well stocked with appliances for cooking and eating and we cooked several yummy meals in the kitchen. We rented whale watch for my mother’s 75th birthday and my siblings and I couldn’t have been happier. The views seriously can’t be beat. We’ve gone to Dillon beach my whole life and this cabin has better, more expansive views than any place we’ve ever stayed. The ping pong table was a huge hit! The only “issue” that did arise has nothing to do with the home or the owner or the property managers - as they were all amazing - but it has to do with the neighborhoods HOA. My brother and his wife were going to go camping after our weekend and so he had his truck camper (the kind that sits on the bed of the truck) on. At about 9pm my mom noticed someone peering into our cars and when she went out the guy took off. Instead of telling us that the HOA doesn’t allow any form of camper in the neighborhood he ran away and called the owner and property managers and probably woke them up. They both called to let us know about the rule and both were very nice about it and told us where he could park it near the neighborhood, which we did immediately. Anyhow - just a warning that the HOA is pretty intense. They also have a very strict “no more than 4 cars” policy per driveway which was fine for us but just know that ahead of renting! Again, on a whole the cabin was incredible and we would definitely rent again!

Downstairs is perfect for privacy. The way the houses are set up you feel secluded, even though they are close. We barely saw anyone. It was a very nice stay for my family and i. I would definately rent again in the future and have already recommended it to several friends, looking for family stays.

As long as you are fine with that, which we are, then this is a good place. We had a good time. our criteria for finding a house is to have a large couch where we can all fit and a dining table where we can all fit. check and check, this place has both. We had a party of 10, there was plenty of space for all of us. One thing I would like to see is more chairs out on the patio. The sliding glass door takes all your might to get it open and screens on all the doors would have been nice because bees kept coming in the house. We did have to call the property managers a couple of times, they were super nice and handled everything quickly. They were a highlight of renting this property. Very very nice people!Things I would suggest, bring your own spices, kitchen towels and even cooking utensils. This house has very limited supplies. There were enough dishes/cups/coffee cups, so that was great!bring ice too, the ice maker didn't make any.

Unquestionably the best of the 3 homes at Dillon Beach that we have rented, and they have all been good. Confidential to owners from my retired home ec. teacher wife- the can opener is ready to be replaced. But overall thank you for furnishing the house so that it is turn key ready for out of towners to arrive and use without issues!

Nice vacation home.

Our warm welcome was a very nice welcoming, vibe nice music and a fireplace going. The views of the ocean are beautiful. The host responds promptly to your messages. They are very friendly and helpful.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time staying here. The house was clean, the location is wonderful. We fully enjoyed the hot tub and the games and game room. We had a large party and were short on towel and blankets but besides that our stay was pretty perfect 😀

Great Location

Amazing location with some great views of the beach. We didnt mind that the place was kind of funky and rough and the edges but it is disappointing to spend almost 1k/night at a place that wasn't very clean and did not have a decent screen door. The beds are all cheap mattresses on metal frames and were not very comfortable. The masterbedroom has a deck with a sliding door but no screen door; sucked not being able to sleep to the sound of the ocean because the owners removed it. Theres a second window in the master but you cant hear the ocean as well through it. Dust was everywhere upon arrival. Property manager did not provide any prearrival instructions but did answer right away when I called right at check in time. The main living room has a damaged screen door that you have to wrestle with each time you open it. I saw the property advertises to sleep 10 but there is only beds for six with 4 total beds. Hot tub was clean and functional which was a plus. Driveway is steep but you should expect such with being on the hill. This would be a great spot for 10 college aged adults to party in since its already seen alot of wear and tear. Kitchen appears updated but bathrooms flash 80's charm. Location and views are really the best draw here. Love the views but the trash all over the property and poor condition of everything would keep me from staying here again. Definitely not the worst but could use some attention from the owners.

Great weekend Getaway!

Perfect space for our family-very spacious. Kids loved all the games. Only thing that was challenging was the shower in both bathrooms-the knobs spin all the way around, which made it hard to find the hot/cold side. Driveway was tricky as it stated, but overall it was a great house, would definitely recommend.

Girls Trip Getaway

Thank you for sharing you house. It is beautiful!!! We enjoyed our stay. The view, hot tub, fireplace was amazing. Loved entering the home with ambiance of the fireplace with the soothing screen saver on the TV. Much needed relaxing weekend away. I have no complaints and would definitely rent Whale Watch house again and again and again......I can't say enough. I've rented other houses in Bodega and by far this one was my favorite. The walk to the beach was definitely not for the faint. There are some pretty steep hills, it is a workout. The kitchen had everything we needed.
