Location, location, location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The proximity to the beach was EXACTLY what we had hoped for!! The house has a lot of potential, but it needs some TLC. The porches seemed pretty sketchy( warped boards, nail heads poking through, boards that moved, etc.). The TVs in each room were comical because they’re SO tiny. It was like the episode of the Office. But although things seemed rundown and not as clean as we had hoped, there was plenty of space for our group, the weather was amazing and we were out at the beach most of the time. So all in all, the vacation was fine because of that.

Fun beach trip

Had a great time. House was large, lots of family space. Rental Co. responded really fast with a couple of small issues ( 30 minutes!).Comfortable, relaxing house!

We love the Isle of Palms, but this property needs basic maintenance. Two of the kitchen cabinet doors came off when we opened them. The decks require repair, creating a trip hazard for any senior guests, and the overall property hasn't received basic maintenance. For the cost, I would recommend choosing another home.

Disappointing, rundown and very dirty rental

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival I was shocked at the condition of this home. Screens were missing out of a few places on the screened in porch. There was rust all over the back as well as rotten wood. One of the windows in the kitchen had a large crack in it. We found dirty socks on the deck, a used Mr Clean magic eraser sticking out from under one of the beds, a flosser sticking on the floor of another room, and dust all over the baseboards. The interior of the home has peeling paint.

House in disrepair

Beautiful view and location but the house needs a complete overhaul. From mold to. Using pickets on the deck, the wood on and around the house needs replacing. Was clean and management company good to work with but we won’t rent her again. Rusty fixtures, lack of general maintenance left us disappointed in the stay.

Home in no condition to be rented out

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was in no condition to be rented out, much less during a tropical storm/category 1 hurricane. The living room ceiling started to leak extensively Monday night into Tuesday morning, and within hours the living room was no longer habitable. I had placed buckets and bowls to capture the streaming water from the upper floor in at least 4 different locations. Water was even streaming (not trickling) off the fan light in the middle of the living room. I called to report this immediately to the agency, but did not receive any word back for several hours. There was an emergency with your property and the phone number provided for “24/7 emergency” was unreachable. It was early in the morning and it took me close to 3 hours for someone to call me back. Given the extent of the leaks, this was clearly not the first time this has happened and patch work was definitely present on the ceiling.Not only did we have to move a family of 16 into a different home, we lost an entire day to relocating, my parents ended up leaving 3 days sooner (had to refund their tickets) due to lack of handicapped accessibility in the second home. I had initially booked the first home with an elevator, limited stairs, and within walking feet of the beach so my father could have easy accessibility. Our trip was cut short with our family and my parents. I appreciate the rental agency helping to find us a home, but had there not been a family who didn’t show up to claim this home, we'd have had to fend for ourselves. When it became apparent that Isle of Palms would be affected by hurricane Debby, there was no proactive outreach from the rental agency about preparations, or even instruction to install the storm shutters, which would have protected the front screens from blowing out during the storm. The wood around the windows was decayed to the extent that the windows would not seal, and this became exacerbated during the storm due to the rain and win

Family vacation 2024

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house needs a lot of updating and repairs. The rails on the porch and stairs are rotted. The elevator did not work and originally they told me they would hav to wait unit Thursday until I said I specifically rented this property because it had an elevator for my 94-year-old dad. The did fix it to the first floor but not to the second floor. There is a window in the kitchen that will not close all the way causing the house to stay hot. The screen porch had some holes in the screen and rotted wood. The location of the house is great but for the price we paid I feel we should have had a more updated home.

East Island Realty is awesome and so easy to deal with. I highly recommend there company even if you rent a different house.The tide is coming up very high - dunes have washed away - however that does not detract from the awesome beach when the tide is out.

Great beachfront family home

Great location —oceanfront home w million dollar views. Lots of bedrooms and plenty of seating for large family gatherings. Although this property is not completely updated, it had all the conveniences we needed! We felt comfortable having all the grandchildren playing either inside or outside on the screened in porch!

Great location! Needs updates and repairs.

We stayed in this rental for a mini-family reunion. We chose it because we needed an elevator for grandma and it was right on the water. The house was in a beautiful location and was large enough for everyone to spread out. We did not use the Murphy bed so I can not comment on its comfort but the bedrooms were all satisfactory (nothing too impressive to comment on). The outside deck is lovely for eating meals while enjoying the breeze and ocean. We cooked many meals and the house had the typical rental kitchen supplies. The cooktop vent is not operational. The outside grill worked well and had plenty of propane. Parking is plentiful. The house was clean. However, this house is clearly a rental and needs repairs and updates. The ceiling has many water-damaged areas, there is lots of wood rot and peeling paint, the carpet upstairs has seen better days, and much of the outdoor lighting doesn't work. The primary bedroom shower is in need of repair. The door doesn't close (someone added velcro to the shower door in an attempt to "fix" this but it doesn't hold the door close) and the tile floor seems to have been repaired by coating the tile with some type of plaster but it is all peeling up. The wood walkway to the ocean is sketchy; if you don't want splinters, wear shoes. Overall, we enjoyed the house but wish it was better maintained.

Lovely weekend getaway!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our fist year at this property, and everyone in the group kept talking about "next year." The property was beautifully situated, with fantastic views from the balcony in the master suite. Comfortable accommodations and bedrooms, well stocked kitchen for preparing meals, and plenty of space for everyone to stretch out on the porches and decks. The boardwalk leading from the house to the beach had a few loose/broken boards, but considering that is the only complaint 16 adults had the entire weekend, we are definitely planning on returning!
