Big place with great location

For our family reunion, no kids, this was perfect. It was roomy, comfortable and well appointed. We cooked in and ate out. It was easy for both due to two fully supplied kitchens and a great location. The bed were very comfortable and the foosball and pool table made for some spirited competition. We were all more than satisfied.

Wonderful family beach week

This is a spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable property for a large multi-generational group. The house is exactly as advertised, the beach access is easy, the kitchens have every appliance and utensil one could want for a wonderful week of cooking, eating and relaxing together.

Great place

Had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner here and celebrated our parents 50th wedding anniversary. The two kitchens worked out perfect for the cooking and the house had everything we needed and more. Perfect location and plenty of space!!! Can’t wait to come back!

This vacation rental was very clean and accommodating. I found it to be very centrally located to the pier for fishing, Tanger mall outlet, and many excellent food choices. Over all our experience was great. The management was pleasant and made our check in/out easy as can be.

Awesome

The house was perfect for our family! Plenty of space! Communication with host was excellent! I would only “warn” about the prickly plants. They are everywhere so wear your shoes at all times and check your animals paws for them frequently. Other than that we had a wonderful time in a wonderful house with a wonderful host!!!!

Excellent home to rent

We were only there for a long weekend but everything that is written about this home is accurate. The house is very nice, well taken care of, the kitchens are stocked with all dishes and cookware you need, plenty of room for your family or guests, easy walk to the beach. The home was well prepared and clean when we arrived. Check-in and check-out are a breeze. We would definitely rent this house again when we are in the area in the future.

Family reunion

We enjoyed a nice family reunion in Nags Head because of this property. The weather did not cooperate so we spent more time indoors then we expected. Fortunately the home was spacious and we were able to relax comfortably and enjoy each other.

Relaxing and Fun

There was plenty to do inside. It was a little chilly during our time there. We enjoyed the pool table and puzzles. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Everyone had their own bathroom which was wonderful. We even had a great movie night. This was our second time staying here and we were not disappointed We wi definitely be back and looking forward. Hopefully the weather will be better so we can use the pool.

Rest and Relaxation at the Sand Fiddler

This was a awesome place to stay and it provided our scrapbooking group with enough room for 11 of us to set up all of our tools and projects. We really enjoyed the beach being so close, with easy access. It was also great that there were so many stores handy too us. We had everything we needed. Everyone especially liked the elevator, as most of us are 65 plus. We will hopefully be returning next year! 🙂

Wonderful get away

It's a new tradition to go away for New Year's. Three generations. Plenty of room for our large family. Beds were comfy and everyone had their own room. We didn't use the bottom floor except for one bedroom, but it would totally be useful in season when the pool is open. The only unnegotiable items in our search is pool table and elevator. This house has much more!

Loved it and the few issues we had were promptly handled. A recommendation I would give is that the exterior doors need to be worked on or replaced as they were very hard to open or had other issues. All my family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and friends who came to visit were impressed.

Review

This property was well equipped with all necessary kitchen supplies. My only concern is that my car was damaged by the crumbling driveway. When I spoke to the owner, she was extremely unprofessional and did not believe that my car was damaged by driveway. She said that one of her employees saw me ride off the driveway.

Perfect Place in Nags Head, and That Dining Table!!!

We have a large family and have a hard time finding places that can accommodate all of us, but this house was perfect! It has plenty of beds, two kitchens and plenty of space to spread out. I mean, it has six decks! And we can't overlook the huuuge dining table that fit all of us, possibly for the first time ever. The house is just across the street from the beach with easy access. It's far enough away from the busy shopping areas but close enough to get there quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if the family wanted to come back next year... and we rarely ever go to the same place twice.

Perfect for a family reunion!

We had a wonderful time on the property. It is in a very convenient location to groceries, pier fishing, souvenir shops, restaurants, golf courses, Jockey’s Ridge, and the Wright Brothers Museum. We also took a deep sea fishing trip from the south end of the island. The house was very spacious, perfect for our large group. We had relatives who stayed about 7 miles from us that came for a visit, and we got a group picture on the second and third balconies of 36 of us! The pool was a huge hit with my grandchildren. We saw a deer in the back yard, just like in the pics online! The elevator was a huge help for my mother who uses a wheelchair and my sister who has arthritis. We also used it to ferry groceries up the stairs.! The two kitchens are completely stocked with every kind of pot, pan, cutting board, silverware, cup, or glass you could possibly need. The dining area is also excellent for a big group like ours. The kids loved the foosball table as well as the pool table; we spent hours around those! The shrink-wrapped bed linens were super convenient; don’t bother bringing your ones from home. Parking is spacious and worked out well. The house is just well built also. We had a storm one evening about 6 that was so strong the porch furniture was blown completely into one corner of the deck, and garbage cans were blown over and into the street, but no damage, swaying or creaking inside! Every person in my family commented on how wonderful the house is. (Also really liked the grill/smoker for outside cooking). And finally, the office staff is fantastic. Thy were prompt and courteous, kept us well informed, and followed through with each step of the process. Don’t hesitate one choosing this house for your big gathering.

Great trip to Nags Head

Our stay was perfect. The amenities were exactly as expected. The house was very clean. The communication was great. I appreciated that they went out of their way to make sure we were aware of a very minor and temporary issue with the elevator ahead of the trip. We would happily go back to this house.

Family Vacation

House is well set up for a large family gathering - plenty of gathering spaces, porches and comfy furniture on every level. We cooked most of our meals at the house and the kitchen was well stocked for that! Beach access right across the street.

Perfect for Family Vacation

If you are looking for a place to vacation in OBX and have a large family group, this is your place to rent! The house is beautiful inside and has everything you need to live comfortably for the week. The staff were VERY accommodating. Ronni was great to work with. We had a minor issue with a door and the maintenance man was there quickly to look at it. We were missing one set of sheets for a bed, and the house manager delivered within the hour. The house is located across the street from the ocean, but the walk to the ocean was not unmanageable. If oceanfront, it would have been perfect! The kiddos loved the movie and game rooms and had a fun time playing on the outdoor ping pong table. We vacation over the 4th of July and anticipated being crowded and congested. But never had a problem getting around or waiting in lines. I would suggest making dinner reservations before travel to the area, because they restaurants fill up fast. Highly recommend choosing this location for your stay!!

Great Getaway!

Nice beach house across the street from the ocean, near OBX Outlets, restaurants, grocery stores, and more. Very clean and easy communication with owners.

I am the Property Manager for Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust.

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
