Vuonna 2015 kunnostettu ja kauniisti sisustettu, tässä erillisessä sisäänkäyntivaunussa on kovapuulattiat, korkeat katot ja kaikki mitä tarvitset lomallesi kukkulalla. Makuuhuoneessa on nelikulmainen queen-vuode, lipasto, marmorinen turhamaisuus ja viihtyisä nojatuoli. Ranskalaiset ovet avautuvat salaiseen puutarhaan, joka on täydellinen paikka nauttia aamiaista. Kylpyhuoneessa on kermainen travertiini, jossa suuri kaakeloitu suihku. Suuressa huoneessa on sohva, jossa on piilotettu vetovuodesohva, kaksi nojatuolia, tikkaat ja baari-TV sekä monitoiminen antiikkipöytä. Alkoviin sovittu se on ihanteellinen paikka syödä voileipä, työskentele kannettavalla tietokoneellasi tai lataa elektroniikkaa. Vedä se ruokailun aikana seinästä poispäin ja avaa kuusi paikkaa olevan pöydän sivut. Kerro meille kuinka monta bistroravintolatuolia tarvitset. Täysin varustetussa keittiössä on takaseinän varrella täysikokoinen, 4 polttoliesi, pesuallas ja 5 jalkaa jääkaappi. Yhden auton ulkopuolella sijaitseva pysäköinti sisältyy hintaan. Huoneistossa ei ole pesukonetta / kuivausrumpua, mutta pesulat ovat 7 korttelin päässä.

This place is heavenly. It is hard to convey in the photos the quiet beauty of the private garden assigned to that small house. The small house is tastefully decorated with antique furnishings. Me, my wife and our two boys (6 and 9) had plenty of space. The bed and sofas are very comfortable. There was always a lot to do, as all the main museums are within walking distance. Restaurants in the Capital Hill/Barracks Row neighborhood were impressively good and affordable. Eastern Market was fun. It has a great bookstore. It is very charming and peaceful neighborhood. We did not need a car.

This Capitol Hill carriage house is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed in D.C.! The sleeping arrangements were perfect, with two different rooms - one for us and one for our adult daughter. The courtyard was a fun addition for atmosphere. The kitchen was well-stocked and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Our hosts were just delightful and so helpful. The location can't be beat - just a block from the Supreme Court building. And the bonus of free parking was unbelievable. Truly a delight and we will be returning to this property!

Excellent location

Being in the neighborhood was perfect for dog walks and biking. The city is such a great place for biking around and being able to park our car off street and leave it there was amazing. Accommodations were good, large shower with good pressure. Friendly residents and safe, fast internet. AC in both rooms was a plus.

Oh my gosh. I almost don’t want to say how awesome it is because I want it to be available. The next time I go to DC! The space we rented is the original carriage house to the original building on the corner. It is clean and cute and quiet and perfect for a single parent with two kids, especially studious type teenagers. Our main reason for staying was because as a graduate student, I needed to be on the hill the next morning to talk and present to a few different representatives and senators. While the rest of my class had to take a horrible bus trip down from New Jersey, I had the luxury of waking up, making breakfast, getting dressed and walking the mile or so down to meet my group, and getting to see sites along the way. we did not return that day like my class did, we stayed until Saturday and actually I ended up booking a place just over the river for Saturday night because this place was already booked so we couldn’t stay another nite. One heads up –keep the drapes closed in the bedroom because another part of the carriage house is an office and they use the back patio too. That’s about it. Everything we needed was there. It states there’s no washer or dryer, but there is so I was able to start the towels/sheets for the owners before we left. It’s just so pretty and quiet!!!! There is also someone who lives in the main property so there’s always someone there if you need something. Highly highly recommend.!

The perfect place to discover Capital Hill

This property has a lovely outdoor area which would be lovely for the spring or fall in DC. But I would recommend it for any time of the year

Perfect accommodations. Great location.

We spent a week exploring DC from this property. It was everything we could have hoped for. Quiet location. Close to all sorts of public transportation. We rode bikes everywhere. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance. A grocery store a couple blocks away. We were close in to all the sights. But we could sit out in the little patio and enjoy a quiet happy hour by ourselves as well. Highly recommend this if you are coming to DC.

Great Place!

We so enjoyed our stay! They neighborhood was just close enough to walk to anything we needed and the garden in the back was perfect for resting in after a long day. The beds were comfortable, it was clean, a little smaller than I anticipated but there was plenty of space for my husband, myself and 2 teens to have room. Would definitely recommend.

Great location, beautiful old property with historical touches, enjoyed our visit. On the surface the place was clean, but our curious dog quickly found a dirty sock, bloody tissue, and candy wrappers in corners and there was a bit of dirt and dust on the floors - may be time for a deep clean :)

Highly recommended vintage stay

Great location with offstreet parking, which was my number one priority. This rental did not disappoint. Bed was very comfortable, and very quiet all the time. Expect to do a fair amount of walking when in Washington DC, and a Whole Foods and Capitol Metro South were accessible from this rental. This rental had everything we needed for our four day stay in DC.

Very safe neighborhood and close to the Capital. Great bedding and fantastic shower. Room to spread out and a beautiful private courtyard. Off street parking makes this an ideal property.

Perfect

This was a long weekend with my grown daughter. The amenities were perfect for our stay, as I specifically was looking for a place to park. We walked and walked!! Everything was within walking distance. We did book a tour of Mount Vernon, which we loved!! This is a beautiful place for a couple for a romantic time away, or mother daughter time away. We had a courtyard all to ourselves. Thank you for sharing your perfect place!!

Easy access to DC activities

My travel buddy and I stayed here for 3 nights in September. It fit our needs well, we didnt spend much time inside but it did have all the necessary amenities we needed. It was cute and cozy, and very clean. The location is tucked away somewhat, so it was nice and quiet. Everything is one level which means no stairs to worry about. It was easy to get to the mall and museums or a restaurant by walking. Overall it was everything we needed. The biggest positive was communication from our host. This was only our second time using VRBO and we had trouble understanding how to access the property but she very quickly, and clearly, responded. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

So. A the place was clean and had things nicely in side. B it was missing an alarm clock or any clock - usually found in. Hotel etc C the key situation is a bit odd (it does need to be changed and D. I tried to get an answer from owner prior to trip but as best I know never got a reply

The Kelly family is the second family to live in the main house, which was built in 1876 by Maj. Samuel Walker for his family.

One of the premier properties on Capitol Hill, the carriage house, the stable and the east side of this Victorian house were completed in 1876. By 1886, Maj. Samuel Walker had more money and ten children so he added the west side of the house, the third floor and the porches in the style of Charles Eastlake, the English architect who simplified Victorian architecture and flattened its rounded gingerbread. All of the first floor ceilings—except the hall—are tin and so is a bedroom ceiling on the second floor.

One of the great pleasures of the main house is that it remains much as it was when first built. Modernizing was done slowly, with care and caution. On the chance that electricity was just a fad, Major Walker only electrified every other arm of the chandeliers in the living room and the study and left the others as gas jets. The gaslights still work--and so does the electricity.
