Lavender Cottage - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Thank you for letting us know about the garden and dog poo. This is the first time we've had any dog poo not cleaned up by owners. We'll definitely put a note in the welcome folder and ask cleaners to check the garden. Also, I'll ask our gardener to give the garden a good cut back.

Thank you for the great review. I apologise for the description having parking. This was a mistake so unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this. I would have organised a permit if I had know. We have one permit that we offer to guests at a reduced cost as a saving on the published car park prices and for convenience to make the arrival process easier. Please accept my apologies for this error.

The hot water has been resolved now that is has been reported.

Lavender Cottage is over 100 years old and the staircase is quite tight and windy. From the kitchen you go up a few steps and then the staircase goes through 180 degrees turn onto the first floor landing. The same happens going up to the second floor. We've had problems with the boiler before but thought it had been fixed. Unfortunately, it had to be repaired again but is now working perfectly. If repairs need carrying out we try and get them done as soon as we can and ask guests if we access the property during their stay.

Thank you for the lovely review. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking but with so many great restaurants and pubs in Lyme Regis it's tempting not to! I'll look forward to hearing from you again.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I must update the arrival information as you have rightly pointed out that the car park is up a steep hill. For future guests, we recommend that you pull up outside the house and unload your luggage then drive up the hill to the car park with the permit, so that you can walk down the hill and enjoy the lovely views!

I'm sorry about your experience of staying at Lavender Cottage did not live up to your expectation and the weather being bad didn't help I'm sure. I'm not sure why the code didn't work as the one given was correct? Sometimes the dials of the key safe need moving slightly backwards and forwards to align perfectly for it to open. Towels were delivered a few hours after arrival due to a problem with instructions to the cleaners. We have had a leak in the shower tray which was fixed and redecorated but was further exacerbated by the new problem of running water and doors hanging off. We arranged for a plumber to visit as soon as possible. He had to order a new shower cartridge to stop the running water and runners for the shower door. Both these issues faults have now been repaired and when we have gaps in bookings we will redecorate the room. For future guests, a word about parking. Coombe St is a one lane road making it difficult to stop and often involves giving way or reversing if vehicles are coming the other way. However, there are two places you can unload where the road widens enough for you to pull up and allow enough room for others to pass. The easiest is outside Bethany Chapel, which sometimes has a chain to prevent cars parking on their land. However, even with the chain there's enough room to pull up on the double yellows which allow you 10 minutes or so to unload. The other section of road that widens enough is opposite the Old Lyme Guest House. Our sofa and chairs are mismatched as shown in the photos we publish. That is intentional on our part and hopefully makes the cottage feel cosy and not too fussy or perfect! Many thanks, Mark
