Cette maison de 4 chambres Ă  coucher et 2 salles de bain est situĂ©e Ă  8 km du Biltmore Estate et Ă  seulement 6 km du centre-ville d'Asheville! Nous avons un jeu d'arcade Pacman, 6 tubes gratuits pour les invitĂ©s de la riviĂšre qui traverse la rue, ainsi qu'un trou de balle sur le pont et d'autres petits jeux. C'est un endroit en ville avec une usine de l'autre cĂŽtĂ© de la rue. Emplacement de la ville avec un lĂ©ger bruit de voitures, etc. Vous ĂȘtes Ă  seulement quelques kilomĂštres des plus belles attractions d'Asheville telles que le Blue Ridge Parkway (10 Miles), River Arts District (3. 2 Miles), Pisgah National Forest (34 miles), Nc Arboretum (11 Miles), Asheville Airport (16 Miles). 9 milles), New Brewing Company de la Belgique (4 milles), Asheville Outlet Mall (8. 6 milles). Cette maison est situĂ©e dans un petit quartier et il y a un bruit de la ville rĂ©gulier ici. Nous sommes trĂšs proches de la plupart des principales attractions d’Asheville et la maison se situe davantage dans un cadre "urbain". Beaucoup d'intimitĂ© ici, mais la location n'est pas dans un endroit totalement isolĂ©! Nous maintenons cette location strictement NON-FUMEUR, mais comme tous les hĂŽtels et les locataires ne respectent pas toujours les rĂšgles, nous prenons toujours des mesures pour utiliser des machines Ă  ozone et des nettoyages professionnels pour Ă©liminer toute odeur de fumĂ©e. C’est un problĂšme RARLEY, mais soyez conscient que tous les immeubles de location et les hĂŽtels ont dĂ©jĂ  fumĂ© au cours de leur trajet. Veuillez donc faire preuve de bon sens lorsque vous prenez des dĂ©cisions lorsque vous ĂȘtes extrĂȘmement sensible aux produits de nettoyage, odeurs, etc. Nous prenons le nettoyage de la location et le confort et la santĂ© de nos clients TRÈS GRAVEMENT! Donc, fumer dans la location sera trĂšs lourd !!

Communication is Key

At the beginning of our travels, days before we tried contacting the property manager previously whose numbers were not updated on the VRBO website. Therefore, we were unsure of what we were going to be driving into. With that being said, we tried knocking on the back house door but the property manager never answered the entire weekend. He said that is usually back there and greets his guest, but failed to do so. The number on the welcome paperwork was inactive as well. But, we saw his car move occasionally from his back parking spot so it felt as if we were being ignored. That begin the frustrations of our weekend. We walked into a very dirty house. The floors were sticky, there was dust and hair everywhere, broken tile on the fireplace, nails up on the deck, lack of pots and pads, and it seemed that there were no heat upstairs in the house. Again, we tried contact and knocking on the house (where he was said to stay) but never answered. Therefore, we were lucky the location was right near everything in Downtown Asheville that we were able to just drive a short distance with children to go out to eat, the park, breweries, etc. We kept a positive head with our friends and made the best of a bad situation. However, we will not be recommending this VRBO property to be our family and friends or staying here on our annually Asheville vacation again.

The beds are back breakers

Lots to unpack here: The master bed was a double with a queen-size topper, which draped over the sides. The mattress was squeaky, unstable and basically gave us the worst nights’ sleep we’ve had. In fact, we took the topper off the mattress and laid it on the floor to sleep. This still killed my back but at least it wasn’t squeaky and shaky and didn’t wake one of us up every time the other moved. One of the upstairs beds was not made, meaning no one changed the sheets after the last person slept on it. It looked like maybe a bachelorette party had been there before us. There were several bottles of wine and mixers, and cans of beer left in the fridge. There were two half-eaten chocolate cakes left in the fridge too. The garbage hadn’t been emptied in the master bathroom and the previous people left nearly empty bottles of shampoo and body wash in the shower. The mirror looked like someone washed it with milk. And there was vomit on the rim of the toilet. One of the throw pillows on the couch had a large tear in the seam. The floors hadn’t been swept and mopped. When filling the dishwasher, it wanted to fall forward out of the cabinet because it wasn’t secured. Someone needs to go in and give the home a good cleaning, including mopping in the corners and wiping down base boards and walls. And then maintain it. All that said, the owner was friendly in the emails. And the house served our needs since I needed access to a full kitchen. However, we actually left the property a day early (when the rest of the family flew home) because we just couldn’t do another night on that bed. We checked into a hotel.

Perfect Weekend

The location was perfect for what we wanted with being right across the French Broad river. The house was tidy and the yard was well kept. We loved using the fire pit and it was a plus that our dogs could come with us!

The house was the perfect location for us. Close to campus for graduation ceremony and centrally located to restaurants, grocery, etc. The home was as described and abundantly stocked with anything you would need. We really enjoyed the firepit and used it twice during our 3 night stay! Thank you to the owner for sharing his lovely home!

This property manager needs to do better with the cleanness of this property and better cooking utensils, and they said you could watch tv but all the apps that were on the tv needed a login code we couldn’t even watch regular tv..

Plenty of room/good layout- but needs a good cleaning and repairs

The house is cozy and has lots of potential with a nice layout despite the "light city noise" and location across from the factory. It is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Asheville and check-in and out was easy. The driveway is a challenge but can be navigated. The stairs and tile to the backdoor entrance need repair. The tiles were completely loose in places and the wooden step crumbled underneath. We used the deck side entrance to avoid falls and circumvent injuries. The house wasn't clean when we arrived. There were cobwebs on the light fixtures. The kitchen is cute and the refrigerator can use a good cleaning to rid the residue and smell of garlic. Fixable enough. The floors of the house and bathrooms were dirty. Urine was on the main toilet when we arrived. The tub in the master bathroom had a good amount of dirt and dog hair almost as if the cleaners may shake the rugs off and not clean the tub. Definitely could use a new cleaning service. The checkout folder noted that a gratuity for the cleaning service was appreciated which I wouldn't necessarily mind, but the house didn't appear to have been cleaned in several weeks. It also noted that pet owners must clean and wipe down pet hair upon checkout. As a pet owner, I don't mind cleaning after them-the place was definitely in better shape when we checked out than when we checked in, but we do pay a cleaning fee with the rental. Like most places that aren't "home" the beds never meet standards, however, these mattresses each had a foam topper to try and mitigate discomfort which was odd. We checked out a day earlier than planned and will consider other rentals in the future.

Where does the cleaning fee go?

Our family isn’t new to VRBO. As a family with 3 teenagers it’s easier to rent a full house than hotel rooms. This is the worst property we have ever stayed in. It’s absolutely filthy and that’s putting it nicely. I do hate to leave such a harsh review because the owner seemed nice and easy to work with, but this property is not sufficient for rental. I seriously wonder where the cleaning fee goes because it’s obviously not used for a cleaner, that or a different cleaner needs to be hired. There was food in the fridge, used soap and shampoos around the tubs, the bath mats were so dirty they were brown, the towels were extremely rough (like the 20 year old towels in my moms place), few blinds (we used a towel to cover the window in the bathroom), the porch light didn’t work so watch your step on the stairs. THESE things would be SUPER easy fixes!!! As other reviewers have said, I question whether or not sheets have been washed, I did find hair on ours and they were extremely wrinkly as if the bed had already been slept in. The fire pit outside was a nice touch though. The location is close to biltmore. There are many great places to choose from in Asheville. I guess you get what you pay for!

Great place!

We had a great stay at Ralph’s place! The communication I had with the owner leading up to our visit and even after checkout was fast, friendly & efficient. It was walking distance to multiple breweries, just be careful walking down Riverside as there are no sidewalks! The ride into downtown was quick and easy too, less than 10 minutes.

Very dirty.

If this place had been cleaned before we arrived, the owner should get rid of the cleaner. Dust and dirt on the floors; I dont think the refrigerator has ever been cleaned. Porch was unswept, etc. Forget about the French Broad River! The owner did give us a warning about the manufacturing plant across from us. Heed well. We will not return to this property.

Overall, the property was fine. We did find the place not as clean as it should’ve been. The dishes needed to be washed before we used them and there was trash under the bed upstairs. I did like the property and it was close to family where we were visiting. Parking was tight but ok.

This house is very close to downtown and also very close to the Biltmore Estate. You are just a few minutes away from everything Asheville has to offer here and the home is in a convenient location with easy access to major interstates and attractions. Everything you may need you can get to within 5 min or less from here such as the post office, grocery store, restaurants, clubs, and so much more. Perfect spot that is not too close to town but only a few minutes away from all the fun!
