Portuguese Vineyard Idyll
We chose Portugal's beautiful Minho region as a venue to celebrate the 100 accumulated birthdays of myself and my twin brother Bill and 14 of our ilk descended on Quinta de Luou in August, occupying the main house. It soon became clear we had made an inspired choice as we settled in for our stay on the beautiful estate with its hydrangea-festooned pathways and breathtaking views over mist-shrouded vineyard terraces and hills. Everything was perfect on the accommodation front from the beautifully-proportioned drawing room to the elegant upstairs bedrooms and spacious kitchen and the covered yard with its long dining table. In short, we loved Quinta de Luou and are sure you will also. Muito obrigado to Filipe and his team (big cheer for Lourdes!) for making us feel so welcome and comfortable.
Maravilloso lugar
Nuestra estancia en la quinta de Luou ha sido una verdadera delicia. Las casa do tanque era preciosa, con una fachada antigua de piedra, perfectamente cuidada y un interior restaurado y moderno con un confort absolutamente de lujo. Sensación continua de tranquilidad y relax, con esa piscina tan bonita y ese paisaje rodeado de viñedos. El resto de las casas dentro de la propiedad eran también de ensueño.Está todo puesto con muchísimo gusto Un lugar al que no se le puede poner ninguna pega por mucho que intentes buscarla. Todo era perfecto. Además, los propietarios son encantadores y saben cuidar los más mínimos detalles. .Para colmo, a media semana, Lourdes vino a limpiar la casa y cambiar la ropa de cama y de baño. En resumen: un verdadero lujo.
Si volvemos por la zona, volveremos a la quinta sin ninguna duda.

What an excellent location and house
We have enjoyed visiting here in the last two years
The houses and gardens are in a wonderfully peaceful setting but not too far from the little town of Gandra and the larger town of Ponte de Lima
We loved the cleanliness f the house, the facilities and the swimming pool
The best you can get
We are a family of 5 and we have stayed twice at Quinta de Luou (Casa do Tanque).
It is simply the best you can get for a holiday. And we have seen a lot of nice places in Europe...
The house itself is pleasant, comfortable and offers everything you need. The owner is very hospitable and listens carefully to your wishes. The service (cleaning, but also washing or breakfast is possible) is just excellent.
And all this in a beautiful environment.
It is amazing that all this can be acquired for this price. Try to get something similar in Spain for example and you pay at least double. But we don't want to go to Spain anymore, now that we know Luou ;-)

I was at "Quinta de Luou" with a group of 20 friends and dealt with the three houses. Choose the house was the most difficult because all are very welcoming.
On sunny days, "Quinta de Luou" has a very beautiful light and the views are great.
Close to everything, will be back for sure. I highly recommend.

A sensação que tive de manhã ao abrir a janela e, num dia lindo cheio de sol, ver uma vista magnífica, com as vinhas e o gado solto é inesquecível.
A casa principal da quinta e toda a envolvente é encantadora.
É um daqueles sítios que faz bem à alma!
