Beautiful apartment with fabulous outdoor space.

We loved this apartment for its location, the large outdoor area with amazing views and the way it was thoughtfully and stylishly decorated. It was super hot when we were there so we were glad of the aircon in the main room. The second bedroom was a bit steaming!

A terrible experience.

We booked this apartment for a week to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. When we arrived the whole apartment smelt of cats. The smell was particularly bad in the bathroom. One of the reasons we had chosen this apartment was because it said no pets in the description and as I am allergic to cats it was important to stay in a pet-free environment. Within a short time of being there I was suffering from asthma and I got very little sleep that night. Luckily I had steroid medications with me, otherwise I think I would have had a really serious asthma attack. The agency were very prompt and helpful finding as a different apartment the next morning, but obviously a whole day was ruined and wasted out of a precious week away.

Not for the unfit

As described, this is very much a stay in someone’s home. It is in a fantastic location and is, generally, well provided to ensure a comfortable stay, although, as the owners say, it is not a hotel. That is very true of the quality of the bed linen. The outside space is wonderful with a choice of three good sized areas to sit. It is, unfortunately let down by the other two areas, one outside the kitchen window and another at the far end of the upper terrace, which are very messy, cluttered with broken furniture and pots. The description doesn’t make clear that the second bedroom is actually separate from the main apartment, accessed across a communal landing. We were warned in the description that there were four flights of stairs - that is 81 stairs which didn’t get any easier even after two weeks. We did, however, really enjoy our stay and our criticisms are only intended to help assess if this is somewhere you want to stay. It is characterful, imperfect and charming.
